Not the prettiest game (PC wasn't either) but definitely the most fun and realistic zombie survival game out there. SP mode and spilt screen are cool, but the online is where the challenge is...like Walking Dead online.

7 Days to Die is a fun addictive game. If anyone checks this game out on Steam you will see that it is part of their early access program so like many people it is to be assumed that you are getting the same early access treatment. As for the few bugs I'm sure they will be addressed in the coming weeks until then enjoy this very fun take on zombie survival. As for the difficulty I'd7 Days to Die is a fun addictive game. As for the difficulty I'd suggest playing with the settings so this game will give you a challenge yet won't frustrate you because on default settings 7 Days can be unforgiving. The split screen and multiplayer is where this game shines because nothing is more rewarding than finding a place for the perfect base and fortifying it with a friend. Expand

I feel I was a little too hard on this game at first. After having some more time with the game, and playing splitscreen with a friend, I can definitely tell it has potential. If the devs can iron out the bugs, and get the game running at 60 fps (I feel this game needs to be running at 60 frames, given it requires some pretty precise aiming), it will be an amazing game.

Everyone who is rating this highly and saying "This is in early access" is a joke. The game says no where in the description or in the game that it is early access and it's priced as a $30 dollar full game. therefore you judge it by it's price and it being a full game. It is extremely buggy and the framerate is not constant at all. The game freezes constantly. The movement speed is similar to crawling in other games. The menus were made for PC so the menus are awful on console. The controls are made for PC so again, awful. The zombies, bears, and other enemies in the game will destroy you and you can hit them 20+ times but they won't die. Other players don't appear on your map and every time you spawn you spawn in a random area so finding your team mates is very stressful especially due to the awful movement speed. The graphics are of course awful but that's not really important. It's just worth noting. I mean this game is just bad and people shouldn't waste their money on it. Wait for a sale if you're super interested but I wouldn't even pick it up then. I suggest Minecraft over this but I'm sure most people already have that. I've requested a refund and am praying Sony allows me to get my money back. Please don't buy/support unfinished games. It's not something PS4 owners want in the store, whether you know it or not. Great Game, and Hell of a lot of fun with friends. Would give it an 11 if I could, the building and crafting system seems limitless, and the physics are quite good as well.

Starting off with the negatives - This is game is an early access game, with that you should expect some minor bugs and glitches.

Now for the positive aspects - It's a perfect addition to the console family. There are not enough survival RPG's on console whatsoever ESPECIALLY ones with split-screen. My wife and I were up until 4 in the morning last completely hooked on this game after

Now for the positive aspects - It's a perfect addition to the console family. There are not enough survival RPG's on console whatsoever ESPECIALLY ones with split-screen. My wife and I were up until 4 in the morning last completely hooked on this game after the release. She loves MInecraft, I love survival-RPG's and FPS's. It's a perfect mixture of survival, crafting, Role-playing. After she went to sleep, I continued to play (against my better judgement) online. Multiplayer is super fun! I have wanted something like this on console for years! The character level up system is unique and complex. Scavenging with friends gives that great apocalyptic survival feel and crafting is endless. You can literally set up your base ANYWHERE in the main map or in the randomly generated worlds the game creates for you. Highly recommend to any lovers of a crafting/survival/building/FPS genre style game.

7 Days to Die is a Survival Crafting game that heavily borrows elements from notable games such as Minecraft and the Fallout series. This mesh between the games RPG progression system in combination with its crafting mechanics makes for an interesting experience. However, the game suffers from tremendous performance issues that spoil the core experience of this game. The game will freeze periodically for approximately 5-10 second intervals every 10 or so minutes of playing (Possibly a bug associated with the games autosave system). In terms of gameplay clunky best fits the description of how it feels to play this game. Walking speed is obnoxiously slow for a game that requires this amount of exploration. To give context the standard walking speed feels roughly the same as being over-encumbered in Skyrim. Running will be your main source of transportation which thankfully can be upgraded through the games Oblivion Esq skill system to run longer while using less stamina. Combat itself is janky and will pull you out of the games experience. Enemies will take a while to actually go down with blunt weapons. It is also worthy to note that there is no sound effect to swinging your weapon which makes the entire experience feel cheap. Most encounters will consist of standing in place hoping you stun the zombie before it stuns you. The games combat lacks the impact and stability needed to keep the player hooked. The graphics are notably fine considering the scope of the game although the games field of vision is beyond inexcusable. The split screen option, as well as the online matchmaking system, adds longevity to the games lifespan. On Launch Day this game is not worth the $30 asking price, I'd suggest waiting for eventual updates that address some of the issues mentioned above before purchasing yet another day 1 launch mess. 7 Days to Die is an extremely fun zombie survival game, but there are a few issue that I have noticed since I started playing it. Also, while playing the frames drop from time to time but only for about a second. With the glitches and other issues aside, the gameplay works well and it's easy to control. Some gameplay issues would include the sloppy UI and the gunplay. I often find it difficult to use the firearms in the game because they are hard to aim. Overall, 7 Days to Die makes a great entry into the zombie survival genere and is a great entry for the few survival games on the consoles. Expand

The first thing you need to know about this game is that it is early access, meaning the game is not finished. 7 Days to Die previously needed a lot of work. It is now in a playable and downright fun state, with a strong crafting and scavenging element that often makes sense and keeps immersion in the survival setting. Zombies become more dangerous as time goes on, but so does the player, as long as they balance their survival with scavenging for better equipment and learning new skills, and 7 Days to Die does a better job staving off the difficulty plateau many survival games eventually succumb to. Following updates, the gameplay is sturdy and solid, built off of an already fun foundation.

Even three months and numerous patches after release, it’s clear that this project is nowhere near complete.Worse, the developers are clearly prioritizing the more successful PC version over this compromised port job. Console-owning fans of the survival genre may find something to enjoy in 7 Days To Die, but my advice is to steer clear all the same.

A compelling zombie concept thoroughly ruined by frighteningly horrid execution. [Sept 2016, p.74]
