    Young Justice: Legacy proves once again that making a game just for the sake of taping into the appetite for another product, in this case, the cartoon, is a bad idea. Freedom Factory neglected the game all around and only the most enthusiastic fans of the cancelled TV series will enjoy it to some extent.

    And then there are the visuals. Oh, my sweet Jim Lee...the pixilated graphics are previous-gen at best, and I would’ve thought I was playing this on the first Xbox or the PlayStation 2 if I didn’t know better.

    Young Justice: Legacy exists as a video game accompaniment to the TV series, and in this regard it’s a repetitive, unsatisfying, and unimpressive failure. There are better scrolling beat-em up’s out there, and there’s more than enough Superhero media around to help you avoid playing this.

    Worth it. Surprisingly, far more than expected in terms of quality and platability. Very good story, complete experience. It's a kind ofWorth it. It's a kind of Marvel Alliance but for any reason (and positive) it feels more authentic and real, for me as a hardcore player and my two sons.
    Why I'd recommend this game?
    Is one of the best superheroes game ever, action, rpg, very good graphics, complex adventure, interesting and deep story... a must have for DC fans, a must have for super-hero games and must have for TV show fans.
    I'm a confessed fan of at least two out of three previous points and we're really enjoying this game!    … Expand

    Is it the greatest game ever? No. Is there plenty to enjoy? Yes. Even if you weren't a fan of the show there is action/rpg style gameplayIs it the greatest game ever? No. Is there plenty to enjoy? Yes. Even if you weren't a fan of the show there is action/rpg style gameplay that should attract many.

    Using super powers, flying, punching and kicking bad guys, your general fun. The buttons are laid out in a simple and easy to use way. The powers are simple to use and upgrading them is easy. It was a very easy game to pick up and play with out doing tutorials or reading a manual. And the way the missions are set up you can play one, set the controller down and say, get ready for work, quite simple. No need for "Oh, come on, I can't skip this 10 minute cutscene?" Either. You can skip, even if it is the first time seeing them.(Unlike many games which make you watch them) this is a huge plus for me.

    The graphics... Great, for PS2 or first year of PS3 release. But graphics do not a game make. Half Life 1 is still an amazing game even with its graphics while say, the new Call of Duty, while great graphics, is still a bland Call of Duty game. But if you get hung up on graphics, then skip this game.

    If you never watched the show and just jumped in, probably be very lost. If you watched the show, then this game is a great addition to your YJ experience.

    Why I give it an 8/10. I am not hung up on graphics like many of the bad reviews seem to be. A good game is a good game.

    The side stuff like trivia is also a nice change of pace. It offers small stuff like that, and costumes, art, Red Arrow Journals, to add to the YJ World for any fan.

    If you can get it cheap, like I did(PS+ Account with sale got it for 9$) then get it. By this time you should be able to get it under 20$ and it would be worth it.

    Never got the DLC but if I had the time and energy and need, I might check it out.    … Expand

    As a fan of the show I have been looking forward to this game for a while, despite the delays. So when it finally came out I purchased it immediately and fired it up.

    What I found is a game that has game-play and graphics that would be considered sub par on a PS2 system, much less a PS3.

    The controls are clunky with nothing to do more than repeatedly mash buttons with no rhyme or reason. The enemy A.I. and design are repetitive, and require nothing more to defeat than to keep mashing buttons.

    There is a bit of "RPG" elements in the game, as you can level up, but that means nothing more than a new move becomes available that you usually will never use over simply punching enemies until they fall over, which they do easily.

    It's no wonder this game was delayed, and even canceled for the Wii U, because the developers most likely knew it was terrible and they didn't want to waste their time porting it.

    This game is possibly the reason the show got canceled.

    It would be more fun to sit in front of the TV watching an episode of the show holding a PS3 remote and pretending you are playing a game.

    My biggest regret is that I purchased the game as a download, and now I'm stuck with it. Because I would trade it now for a cup of coffee and a donut.    … Expand

The story is sub-par, the graphics are okay, and the animations are blocky. But let's talk about the important stuff. The gameplay. How is it? It's not terrible, not it's not okay or positive at all. It feels like a third person view of marvel heroes with bare bones gameplay. If I could compare this to another superhero game, I would compare it to Deadpool. Both are budget games hoping to make quick cash. However at least Deadpool's animations were fluid and had good writing.

    Do I recommend this game? Not for buying, and probably not for renting. This game is for those with literally nothing to play on their current-gen console. Speaking of which, another problem is bought up. Release date. This game was released on the 19th of November 2013, which automatically makes two risks that ended up failing. The next-gen consoles are already out, and there is no sign of this game on the PS4 or Xbox One (plus there's next to no reason to play a current-gen console just for this game) and this game was released way after Young Justice ended. I actually feel somewhat insulted of how this game has been in development for a while, and hyped by several DC fans/    … Expand

I might have been able to stand all the blemishes had it not been for the god-awful controls. It was work just to get my character to move around properly, let alone hit the enemy consistently. The story and voice acting are right out of the show and give a last hurrah to an what I think is the best superhero universe in recent times. That is the game's only strength.

    The graphics would have been poor in the last generation of consoles. The backgrounds stutter, everything is jaggy, and the characters move with no weight or speed. It's difficult to aim projectile attacks, buttons do not always respond properly (you wanted to attack? nah, let's switch to a different character!) and there are collision issues with objects you need to throw or jump on. The in game text is tiny, and some of the menu text seems to be written by non-native speakers. Load screens pop up suddenly and frequently, even when selecting a character from the menu. The dialogue in the cut scenes sometimes has characters unintentionally talking over each other.

    It's a mediocre, Gauntlet-style game. If you have other people to play co-op with in your living room, it can be an OK way to pass the time. There's hard mode, mission mode, unlockable costumes, and even a trivia game for die-hard fans (though the timer is so short, you'll barely be able to read some of the questions). DLC for 4 new characters and costume packs are coming this weekend.

    It's crystal clear that a lot of love went in to the story, characters, and the universe itself. It's a shame that the gameplay was so ugly, repetitive, and glitchy.    … Expand
