    So, is Watchmen worth your hard-earned cash? I'm going to have to give a resounding "yes" to this expertly crafted beat-em-up. Even with its' shortcomings Watchmen always feels fresh, and really stands apart as a downloadable title.

    The real surprise was the final level against Underboss, where you chase him up an under construction building with crews of underlings coming out the woodwork, packing some nasty hand to hand weaponry, like wrenches, pipes, crowbars and baseball bats.

    The End is Nigh is a good beginning for the Watchmen franchise in videogames, although in the future we should ask them for more. An extra in variety and a deeper AI in the enemies seem necessary, and the presence of more complex puzzles will bring variety to the experience. Nevertheless this is a pleasant but brief Hack and Slash.

    Watchmen: The End is Nigh is not a completely broken game, nor a good game, it's just like an old brawler game like the ones we used to play at the arcade, but it's a little bit short and tedious. However there is no question that breaking bones and killing scum as Rorsharch could be funny and enjoyable side by side with Night Howl II.

    Though the very idea of a Watchmen brawler may sicken some, this could have been a good game. Unfortunately, the design lacked any imagination whatsoever. Add Watchmen: The End is Nigh to the long list of movie-licensed games that aren't any good.

    The real breaking point for this innocuous title is the price tag. Yes, Watchmen is one of the best looking downloadable games we’ve seen on a console (even if the lighting takes the murky color palette to nearly opaque darkness), and yes, the voice acting and production values are impressively high-end. Still, paying $20.00 for such a shallow experience just doesn’t seem right.

    The one decent thing is the graphics but they're incredibly smoke and mirrors(relying on UE3 shine). This game is a waste of time and money. It really shouldn't even appeal to the typical watchmen fan...    … Expand

The only redeeming factors is that they actually got Jackie Earle Haley and Patrick Wilson to voice their characters, the dialogue lines are spot on for the characters, and the motion comic cut scenes are colorful and interesting. Other than that is game is absolute hot garbage. One of the worst, rushed, unfished messes I've ever played. It's so repetitive and boring. The level design is crap and levels hardly look different from one another. The graphics are garbage and it's ugly looking as it's all brown and green. Actually Rorschach is pretty well animated but Nite Owl isn't.

    This is a linear game where you mash square to punch bad guys, move forward, pull a lever, rinse and repeat. That is it. There are no puzzles, or stealth, or any variation on that. It even came out before the Arkham games so it couldn't quite copy their combat system. This is clearly a product of rushing production to meet the release date of the movie and they couldn't even get that right as the second half of the game was released half a year later after the first part came out. I'm glad to have added this to my collection as I love collecting both superhero and movie games but wow this sucks. If you've played this game for 5 minutes you've played the whole thing. I couldn't finish this. This might have snuck into my top 5 of worst games ever.    … Expand
