Jan 11, 2023The gameplay is truly what keeps you engrossed in the game. The over-the-top acting could've been turned down. The ending is maddening, though, especially as an unanswered cliffhanger.

Sep 5, 2022Great gameplay, forgettable story and too short. Still recommend it just for the fun gameplay.

Jun 27, 2022Platinum Games knocks it out of the park with Vanquish. Its frantic gameplay and great level design makes this one of their best games.
-
Jun 25, 2022To me, everything about this game is perfect, except for 2 things. No multiplayer and it can be beaten in like 2 days, at max a week.
However it is a great example of how a fast, arcade style shooter should be like. Even the ending credits were the bomb. -
May 12, 2022Es war wirklich gut zum abschalten. Es geht flott durch wie ein 12 Episoden Anime. Steuert sich super und ist bombastisch inszeniert.
Ein sehr leckerer Snack für zwischendurch. -

Feb 25, 2020Best Third Person shooter on Xbox. The story may suck but the combat and camp are too **** perfect to miss out on. I recommend playing this, and it has a remaster.

Mar 25, 2017This is a hilariously over the top fast paced action shooter.
The cut scenes are like a cheesy 80s action film or like a poorly translated Manga movie.
I loved very second of this game for a variety of reasons. Great stuff. -

Apr 28, 2015This game is the meaning of video game. Fast, exciting, responsive, satisfying with bullet time as icing on the cake. The first game I got for my ps3 and still my favourite.

Aug 26, 2014Repetitive and over the top, some interesting mechanics but overall a mindless linear shooter. It's like Gears of War combined with Devil May Cry - which might be a good thing if you're into such games.

Feb 9, 2011Vanquish manages in many ways to be quite literally awesome though; from the bombastic battles you partake in, through its outstanding technical performance, brilliantly ridiculous cutscenes and superb twists on an established genre.
-
Jan 31, 2011If you're still itching to waste a few hours on Vanquish, here's some advice: wait until the inevitable price reduction.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJan 25, 2011There's really been nothing else quite like it this generation, which makes comparison difficult, and its one misstep is the fact that its only online component is a paltry ranking system. In truth, having multiplayer inside the chaotic sphere of Vanquish would have made Mikami's latest baby the prodigal son of third-person shooters. There's always next time though. [December 2010 p78]
