Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas

The addition of a bulked up multiplayer on the PS3 makes this the best version of the game you can buy. The controls and the sound effects are perfect. Unfortunately, the graphics are the weak link.

The controls on the PS3 Sixaxis controller work extremely well.

It's a real pleasure to see Rainbow Six given such royal treatment, particularly if you're a fan of the series. But even if you just like gunplay, this is a great time for shooter fans, whose embarrassment of riches just got even more embarrassing.

While the game still looks like a next-generation title, it lacks many of the subtle points of refinement the Xbox 360 version offers. Environments are noticeably muddier and jaggier, as if Ubisoft forgot to use anti-aliasing...Despite these minor flaws, Rainbow Six Vegas offers a fantastic FPS experience that rivals anything else on the PlayStation 3. If you haven’t played the game on the 360 already, this is a must-buy for any self-respecting fragger.

It's a slick combination of strategy, focused aggression and all-out nerves of steel.

Rainbow Six is reinvented and reinvigorated for a new age thanks to beautiful visuals and top-notch tactical shooting action.

The number of options you have on how to tackle each situation makes for some great unscripted moments, and the visuals and sound help create an atmosphere that wouldn't be possible on older hardware.

Once you get a game going, the online aspect of Vegas far and away shines as the biggest selling point, but there's no discounting the single-player game either -- even if the ending is a little blah. Better late than never, Vegas rocks.

All in all, Rainbow Six Vegas is an excellent tactical simulator, one that does provide some good replay in forcing you to play at near perfection (on the highest difficulty) and with some patience in order to succeed.

The single-player campaign is both challenging and satisfying, the online multiplayer is fast and furious (fans of Resistance: Fall of Man should give it a try, even though it's slightly more sensitive due to its pseudo-sim nature), and it looks and sounds exactly the way it should.

The enthralling tactical shooter gameplay and adjustable difficulty make it an experience that can be enjoyed by all. Do not bet on black; do not bet on red... take sixty dollars of your hard earned cash and place it on the rainbow. To win. It’s a sure thing.

It has a solid and compelling single-player mode that only gets better when you play it cooperatively, and with a huge fan base, numerous multiplayer maps and games modes, and perfectly balanced gameplay for teams and individuals.

Requiring you to think a lot more than the average shooter and providing a wealth of online content, Rainbow Six Vegas is a great addition to the PS3 line up, even if it does come several months late.

The series' strength has always been its online play, but Vegas manages to bring an engaging single-player experience to the table as well. With a total of 20 multiplayer maps, the ability to play through the whole game cooperatively online, terrorist hunt and the single-player missions, there's a whole lot to this package and it shouldn't be passed up.

Vegas is very good, the only drawbacks coming from the slightly too short singleplayer campaign which can be dispatched in about 8-10 hours.

It's more of a straightforward shooter, but it's still gorgeous and the best squad-based shooter for your money on the PS3.

Overall, Rainbow Six: Vegas is pretty much a must buy tactical shooter for PS3 owners.

It's solid, pretty good-looking, and packs a thoroughly decent single-player campaign, too.

While the SIXAXIS implementation is okay, it feels like it was put into the game simply to be able to say it was put into the game. The rest of the interface is solid, and the learning curve to learn the control scheme is small with this title.

Rainbow Six Vegas isn’t all roses but it’s not all thorns either. I guess you could say it’s mostly rosy all around.

It may not have the best graphics or story, but it's still great because it shines in the area it really cares about - tactical realism.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas is still an incredible game and is highly recommended. It may be coming a little bit late but you'll be having so much fun you just won't care.
