Play UKAug 7, 2012For the raw, skittish tension of the decisions you make? The Walking Dead is unmatched. [Issue#221, p.79]
-
Jul 9, 2012Technically, this game isn't superb. Luckily, every other aspect of The Walking Dead Episode 2: Starved for Help is. Bloody action, though choices and a great story with well-developed characters make this well worth your while.
-
Jul 9, 2012Episode 2 is an experience that is completely different to anything you can find on the PS3, if you've already bought Episode 1 then there's no doubt you'll pick this up, if you haven't, then now is the perfect time.
-
Jul 5, 2012Proving that you don't need zombies to make a great zombie story, Telltale ups the ante in almost every way with Starved for Help. Even more brutal than the content in episode 2 is the wait for episode 3.
-
Jul 1, 2012Telltale Games has a gem on its hands. If the remaining three episodes of this series are anything like the first two, The Walking Dead may very well go down in history as the greatest adventure game of this generation.
-
Jul 19, 2012Although fans of Robert Kirkman's comics might recognize plot points lifted directly from the black-and-white series, this is still a gut shot of an adventure sure to keep you creeped out for the three or four hours that it lasts.
-
Jul 5, 2012The stellar writing and character development continues at a superior level, and the decisions the game asks you to make are gut-wrenching.
-
Jun 27, 2012It's definitely a different experience than the first episode (including its additional technical issues), but that's what I want out of episodic content.
-
Jul 2, 2012Starved for Help continues to explore the moral ambiguity of a post-society world, albeit focusing more on the human threat this time around. There is a narrow margin between right and wrong, and forcing the player to genuinely question what to do or how to act in virtual environment is a remarkable accomplishment.
-
Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxSep 13, 2012In terms of gameplay you can still expect the same simple running around, talking to people and mashing buttons when you get attacked by a zombie. Story-wise however, this episode does what it needs to do. [September 2012, p.86]
-
Jul 29, 2012Despite a non-optimized to best development, undermined by haste to publish the game, it remains impossible not to be affected by the quality of the second episode of the series The Walking Dead.
-
Jul 12, 2012It's also more predictable, with fewer affecting decisions than the first part, but that's not to say that you won't umm and ahh over what to do on multiple occasions. This is still an excellent piece of narrative-driven gaming, where you grow attached to the cast and enjoy/endure the consequences of your actions. It's where Heavy Rain meets the zombie apocalypse, and that should be enough to sell anybody.
