I could'nt decide wether to give this game a 3 or a 4. I thought to myself, it's Spyro, how bad could it be? 15$ plus tax, at that price I could've drown my sorrows instead which is exactly what I'd have done had I known how badly my childhood was going to be ruined. Even the local coop could'nt make this bearable. If something, you might want to buy it because I bet you so manyI could'nt decide wether to give this game a 3 or a 4. I started off with high hopes that Spyro Dawn of the Dragon would be an enthralling and satisfying gamer experience given the acclaim and capitalisation its counterpart Skylander series had in the video game market.
My assumption that this game would be an entertaining and above average engagement soon rescinded about 30 minutes into my gameplay.

While some levels met my expectations, most levels did not and only exposed the deep flaws in Sypro's motion mechanics.
Character control was tacky at best using the example for instance of wall running to progress further throughout a level that became dam near impossible or struggling to free-flow with Spyro in the air whilst in concert with Cinder.
Some levels had uninspiring objectives and led me to the conclusion that this game was rushed at some point in its development.
The worst level in the entire game was 'burned lands for the simple fact that it was a level with no direction and no visual surety the path Spyro was headed was even nearing him towards the finish.
I became very disenchanted quick with this game and would go as far as to say that each level felt like completing it was a chore.
I'm vouching never to purchase another Sypro product again unless the designer that developed this weak effort is willing to compensate me for the time wasted playing this tragedy; given that they went under a few years back I will never be compensated and never play another game in the series again.

hated it. this is a terrible game and is nothing like the original spyro on the original playstation which i think was an amazing. right from the begining cut scene i was confused with nothing to explain what has happened in the long years since the last game and he is a dragon for gods sake not a ninja so why is he punching and kicking when he should be breathing fire and scratching withhated it. this is a terrible game and is nothing like the original spyro on the original playstation which i think was an amazing. right from the begining cut scene i was confused with nothing to explain what has happened in the long years since the last game and he is a dragon for gods sake not a ninja so why is he punching and kicking when he should be breathing fire and scratching with claws. the flying was a nightmare with terrible controls and the use of the sixaxis was not great. the graphics were terrible with rough edges bad shaping and all round lack of effort. do not get this game and pass this by Expand

Perhaps the worst Spyro game released. Etranges Libellules has progressively made worse games with this reaching an all time low. The old spyro games limited flight, and for good reason. The new feature has crippled the game severely and the poor geometry just adds to the confusion.

  1. Some of the voiceovers are weak, the camera is a pain and the adventure ends way too soon. However, Legend of Spyro still has enough good qualities that make it fun.

But decent two-player co-op's just ketchup on a crap sandwich. The game's buggy as hell, with severe slowdown, characters getting hung up in the level geometry, and stuttering audio. Those problems are amplified in the PS3 version, whose only other major differences are unneeded Sixaxis flight control and a noticeable lack of Trophy support versus the Xbox 360's Achievements.
  3. Lackluster gameplay makes this a disappointing conclusion to the Legend of Spyro series.
