Ignore these starbreeze employers, its a generic, simplistic shooter with no strategy or much story to speak of, not sure why they stole the syndicate brand as people who buy this wont know of it, and the ones who do will be pissed they made it into a dumb brainless shooter, utter crap!
I'll give it a 1, they spelled syndicate right I guess.

Can't believe I'm saying this but.... This is the worst first-person shooter game I have ever played for the PS3.

Pros - The Sci-fi futuristic time-zone consisting of androids and cybernetics. - Detailed lore, and multiple files for you to browse around. (though you could probably still learn more from a website online) Cons - Everything else about the game!!! - Horribly
Can't believe I'm saying this but.... This is the worst first-person shooter game I have ever played for the PS3.

    Pros
    - The Sci-fi futuristic time-zone consisting of androids and cybernetics.
    - Detailed lore, and multiple files for you to browse around. (though you could probably still learn more from a website online)

    Cons
    - Everything else about the game!!!
    - Horribly programmed enemy AI's that run out in the open 90% of the time instead of looking for cover.
    - You battle the same ****ing generic soldiers over and over again, with little to no variation.
    - Invisible walls, sometimes completely interfering with your gunfire.
    - So generic for a first-person shooter that it's boring.
    - The linear design of it is so painful that it hurts. You see all these doors you can never open because the game drills you to go one direction every single time.
    - Terrible graphics. If you have an HD television, go into the in-game options menu and turn the gamma all way down to 0, or else prepare to be blind from the lighting. And adjusting the brightness doesn't fix the problem.
    - No memorable tunes in the entire soundtrack, and none that stand out.
    - The controls are absolutely garbage. On the first mission, I constantly found myself going in the options menu adjusting the X and Y axis , but could never get a good balance on it. In the end, I had to rely on the aim assist to do most of the work.
    - Copy/Pasted NPCs
    - Unskippable cut-scenes.
    - Non-Hostile NPCs that perform extremely puzzling and predictable actions. Whether it's run for the exit and despawn, or curling up in a ball with fear, they do the same f***ing action every single time. (You have to play this game to understand why this is part of the criticism)
    - Hilarious and sometimes frustrating bugs, like when grenades you send back don't explode.
    - The "Suicide" and "Persuade" features are broken, and may completely stop working during your playthrough!
    - The single player campaign is only 2 hours long.... 2 ****ing hours!?!
    - Electronic Arts has been creating video games since the early 1990s, and have the reputation for delivering a good game when they put their minds to it. So why did they bring us this **** in 2012!?! Nothing about this game is original, and that's the worst part of it all!

Syndicate's story fails to grip. You won't give a care in the world about any of the characters, or what is going on for that matter. And when adding it's repetitive and hideous looking gameplay on top, it rounds itself out to be a truly revolting experience. The online multiplayer is dead, and it should stay that way, because after getting done the single player campaign, you will want to meditate in hopes of cleansing this grime from your mind.

Let this warning stand for all you morbid buyers and Syndicate fanboys to run away, run while you're still alive. The verdict for this Mindjack game wannabe is a 2 out of 10! The only reason it escapes the 1 is because the game isn't overly buggy, broken, and crashing every 5 minutes. But it just sucks because it had a cool sci-fi theme and element to it. But even that manages to screw itself through it's below average voice acting and often feel burdened with the rest of the gameplay.. Not once did I ever have fun playing from the moment I saw it's blurry main menu, to the moment the disc got ejected from my PS3. Do not buy this game! It is a mistake that will come back to haunt you!

Right from the start, you feel like a demigod, dispatching enemies with ease thanks to an overpowered arsenal and a whole bunch of 'breaching' powers that let you slow time, enhance damage and decrease ouchies from incoming bullets. [April 2012, p65]

No classic, but it's still easily one of the year's stronger shooters so far. [Issue#216, p.74]

Awful bosses, poor story, and unimaginative level design bury sexy guns and good looks. [Apr 2012, p.92]
