This is one of those games and only the second game (the other being Metal Gear Solid) that i have deemed worthy of a perfect 10 on Metacritic. I'm not one to go overboard with my reviews but this is probably the greatest 2D platformer ever and a true classic that even today provides one of gamings biggest adrenaline rushes.… Expand

Currently, I cannot consider this a top game, though I do see why it was so popular decades ago; in fact, it is still very enjoyable. Its strongest point is probably gameplay, which is addictive (though a bit frustrating a times). The soundtrack is also very good, and the graphics fulfill their purpose.… Expand

Sega gave us an introduction of the real , fun Sonic. Colorful graphics , solid platforms, nice gameplay and challenging.… Expand

I personally have completed this game more times than any other video game I have ever owned. I LOVE IT!! So... Why rate it as a 1?! THE PORT IS BOTCHED!!! The controls are AWFUL! If you know & love the original, this version is pretty much unplayable. You can't even use the frickin' D-pad... I mean, COME ON!! I love Sonic, but this conversion is an insult.… Expand
