    Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype is a rather classic shooter, which bases its appeal on those elements that fans of the genre know better: upgradeable weapons, huge bosses, nice levels and a large number of enemies who do nothing but shoot at us. Though its solid gameplay, however, Final Prototype lacks of original ideas and it's way too short.

    Soldner X2: Final Prototype offers the pinnacle of it's genre. Ultimately accessible & joyfully playable, this offers a fantastic starting point for gamers new to schmups as well as a warm fuzzy feeling for the long time player. A frenetic explosion of colour and liquid smooth motion make this one of the best shooters I have ever played.

    In an age when the surviving champions of the genre seem intent on sticking to the template of manic vertical scrollers with ludicrously baroque game design, Soldner-X 2 offers a fairly satisfying alternative: a horizontal scroller with a classic flavour that doesn't feel out of date.
