AceGamezUnless you’ve slavishly scoured every inch of the first two Skate games, it’s hard to recommend throwing down a large slab of cash for this update.
-
If you like the previous Skate games, you'll probably like Skate 3 as well. It's a rock solid skateboarding simulation and it's both fun and easy to create your own skate parks. But if you don't want to play online, Skate 3 feels a little bit bare boned and is more like an upgrade rather than a brand new experience.

Edge MagazineWhile refinement might be the best way to make a good game better, it certainly isn't the best way to justify the cost of a second sequel in as many years. [June 2010, p.101]
-
It was a great concept, but the third instalment has disappointed. There really isn’t much depth to be found with Skate 3, due to the short career mode and lacking extra features.
-
Pleasant, but a bit on the light side for series aficionados, and very forgettable if you don’t play online.
-
With Skate 2 released just a little over a year ago, it’s clear that Skate 3 was pumped out too quickly. The ideas are great, but the lack of polish is evident with every flip, flop, and flub.
