For those that enjoy karaoke, or who enjoy SingStar games and own a PS3, SingStar Vol. 2 is most likely a no-brainer and you might well treat yourself.
-
To the dismay of fans everywhere, here’s another Singstar-title with no ambition to innovate. Being able to buy songs through your PSP is a nice nuance, but the new duet-mode is the one great feature in an otherwise familiar package. A set of great and fun songs saves this title from earning a really low grade.
-
Whether you want to fork out for that will depend, as ever, on your approval of the track listing.
-
Overall, SingStar Vol.2 is a step in the right direction, if only because it’s slightly better than your average sequel on the PS2.
-
SingStar Vol. 2 offers up more of the same, but at $40 isn't worth the purchase price when you may only tolerate half the tracks available, if that.
-
SingStar Vol. 2 is a tough sell. Although it has a wide berth of exclusive (and fun to sing) tracks, it offers little in improvements over Sony's six month-old release.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Like a new season of American Idol, the first thing you notice when you pop in SingStar Vol. 2 is that it's curiously similar to the last one. [Holiday 2008, p.82]
-
There's not that much more here aside from 30 new tracks for the game that are not available from the online store.
-
I just wish it had more material. To compete in a genre with games that offer so much more for so much less, SingStar needs to bulk up. It's possible, however, that Rock Band killed the karaoke star.
-
Owners of the first part better hold on to their money and buy songs they really like in the SingStore.
-
When you get down to it, SingStar Vol. 2 just doesn’t make sense as a purchase if you own the original SingStar PS3 and have a broadband connection.
-
There's honestly no reason to pick up this release short of getting the songs in HD.
