SingStar Dance

With the addition of the Dance, SingStar could become the complete artistic experience, with until 4 players simultaneous singing and dancing together. Move implementation is very impressive, but just for one hand: the other movements are still interpreted by the software, sometimes very well but not ever with the same precision. It's not a dance simulator, but it's sure a fun generator!

SingStar Dance is definitely a party game and if you have a party coming up, this title would definitely be a winner and is something fresh as opposed to SingStar which this game can still do.

Accessibility is SingStar Dance's biggest drawback, in fact it's arguable its only one, as it's an otherwise fun and engaging package and at the very least it offers additional songs for SingStar fans.

SingStar Dance is very party-game orientated with the full track listing accessible from the get-go.

Another Singstar: can the franchise still surprise? Well yes, it can. Thanks to the Move controller, players can now dance while singing and that makes the game even more perfect for those karaoke-nights.

Although it's currently easy to find better dancing/music games on the market, Singstar: Dance proves to be a well crafted product that deserves a look from any fan of the genre.

So it's up there with Just Dance 2 and Dance Central as a fun, accessible, well-produced dancing game. But none of them could be described as the ultimate dancing game.

While SingStar Dance isn't exactly far away from being great in terms of singing, the dancing isn't good at all.

It's fun to move to music. It's that simple. But it's not very fun trying to imitate movements that are far above your ability and Singstar Dance have no entry-level option where you quietly learn the movements. Points assessment works well, but it's the only thing that determines the difficulty level. This party game is not kind to beginners. As if dancing in front of other people weren't challenging enough.

Singstar Dance is a nice addition to any Singstar fan out there for the singing tracks, but if the purchase is heavily based on the dancing feature, the tacked-on offering by SCE London Studios doesn't deserve opening your wallet for.

For those that enjoy karaoke on the PS3, or enjoy SingStar games, SingStar Dance is most likely a no-brainer so you might as well treat yourself. That being said, it will cost you some coin to get a decent library of songs and the dancing elements in the game simply stink.

Singstar Dance feels like a logical next-step for the series then and will likely get a few parties going this Christmas.

SingStar: Dance seems like a natural evolution of the series, but the actual dancing and Move functionality is poorly implemented. Nevertheless, the tracklist is solid and the game's core karaoke function will provide fun at parties.

SingStar Dance is a game that contains the usual SingStar features and the possibility to dance with the PlayStation Move. A pretty cool idea that looks like the Just Dance games from Ubisoft, but the biggest problem is that the dancing part isn't great. Most of the time you don't know what the upcoming dance move is and that's pretty annoying. A simple addition to the game without any innovation, this could have been a lot better.

Sure, you'll have fun and laugh as your friends make fools of themselves, but that's just because they're waving their arms like crazy and acting foolish; it's not because the system works.

This one feels like a middling experience, so think carefully before jumping in.
