This game has nice visuals, style, and music. The block physics and suck/blow mechanic are unique and really distinguish this game from the other Breakout clones out there. Some boss battles are fun and can be challenging. However this is still a Breakout clone at heart. The improvements might not last very long to keep you from getting bored playing this genre.

First it was really fun, but after some level it got boring. In my opinion it is too repetitive for a normal game and too complex for a mini games. Sort of sitting between two chairs.

It is not that in would be always the same thing with only changing backgrounds. There are many different special blocks (rotating, exploding, rocketing, floating…), game modes (normal, hold 3 balls as long as possible, Tetris-like survival) and different areas (rectacular, circular), but always you end up doing the same: You a paddle and attract or push away blocks (and the ball) by a weak gravitational force from the paddle.
If you like doing that for hours, the game is for you. Otherwise look out for something else.

A delight from beginning to end...Shatter stands right up there with Breakout and Arkanoid as one of (if not the) best brick-breaking games ever made.

It's a fine interpretation of the old brick-breaker style, and it should keep you entertained, even if it's only once or twice.

Taken as a whole, Shatter combines well-thought-out gameplay with a highly polished and immersive aesthetic. Only a particular type of person need apply, perhaps, but if you’re into Geometry Wars or other score-based titles, Shatter should keep you satisfied.
