Meanwhile, the evil boss on the initial level refers to you as 'seeexxxxxaaay' and 'baby cheeks' - when not saying 'mmm mmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!' in a very dubious way. The voice actors are probably fine people, but what they were paid to say is just wron on so many levels. I mean, its like the voice acting sucks. And blows. Just, totally, like, sucks and blows, dude. At the same time, bro. But if those last few sentences didn't annoy you, you'll probably be fine with it. ;-) Expand

This is an absolutely horrible game, and I went in knowing it was a pure arcade hack-n-slash with no linkage whatsoever to the previous Sacred games. I'll spell it out concisely: no loot, no weapons, no RPG elements, no open world.

Now, onto the stuff I didn't know about. First, the voice acting is horrendous, and as one reviewer stated, you will "want to cut your ears off with a knife"

Now, onto the stuff I didn't know about. First, the voice acting is horrendous, and as one reviewer stated, you will "want to cut your ears off with a knife" after playing this game for an hour. Childish scripting, sexual innuendos (a threesome with an ogre?), pop culture references, toilet humor, and kindergarten-level jokes will have you looking for the volume button - there is no way to disable the voices in-game.

Worst of all, there is really no local multiplayer, which was a huge marketing factor. Sure, you can play more than one player local, but P2-P4 are "guests" and are simply fake characters auto-leveled to the first character. They can't be saved, they don't gain levels, no gold, and are just automatons that are used to fraudulently sell the game as local MP. I remember Dungeon Siege 3 pulling the same scam, which amounted them bolting on local MP in the exact same way, using P2-P4 as non-existent "guests".

I am a big fan of the action-RPG genre, and this is by far the worst game I have ever played, and makes Dungeon Siege 3 look like The Last of Us. DO NOT BUY!!

The legacy of sacred has been a rocky one to say the least. Sacred 1 and 2 were almost critically panned by critics and fans alike aside from a few cult followers. Keeping that in mind Deep Silver seems to have decided to move in a new direction, and in my opinion is was a great move.

The legacy of sacred has been a rocky one to say the least. Sacred 1 and 2 were almost critically panned by critics and fans alike aside from a few cult followers. Keeping that in mind Deep Silver seems to have decided to move in a new direction, and in my opinion is was a great move.

The core gameplay of sacred 3 is a traditional style hack 'n' slash game much in vein of the old gauntlet games such as Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. Players will move from the start to the end of a linear map with secrets hidden along the path. The combat is fast and fluid allowing for combos and special moves to seamlessly flow together into a barrage of attacks that always feel impressive and powerful.

The upgrade system of the game has been streamlined, doing away with the randomly generated loot and skill trees in way of each character having a select few special moves, weapons, and equipment that all feel more meaningful and unique than most dungeon crawlers. Progressing through stages will grant you equipment and battle spirits much in the style of an unlock system. These items in a way can be farmed to find more powerful versions of the item or spirit making the handful of them per character feel deeper than they do at a glance. This mechanic alone allows for replay ability that encourages multiple playthroughs of stages to find more powerful gear and spirits for yourself and allies to utilize. All of the weapons, armors, spirits, skills, and abilities all feature an upgrade path that can be utilized by gaining gold and the appropriate level to progress.

I found that the local multiplayer handled like a dream allowing two players to work together to handle the more challenging sections of the game with greater ease. The gold and unlocks were shared among both players aside from the aforementioned battle spirits which each player had to gain independently.

As far as challenge the game felt for the most part balanced. Enemies were slightly predictable, and at no real point did I get the same rush of danger that is felt from more difficult games. But at the same time I never felt like the game was just handing me victories.

At the end of the day I feel this game is a worthy entry into the hack 'n' slash genre, bringing 4 (5 with DLC) very unique characters into the fray with style and grace. The unlock and upgrade system may be a bit shallow, but in that way much more refined. I see myself visiting the world of sacred 3 alone and with friends for some time to come.

It's not bad for a hack and slash. I'm having fun! I don't understand all the horrible reviews. Yeah it's not Sacred 2 or Diablo, but it's really quite relaxing and entertaining. I'm glad I bought it and am playing it. There's no loot, just gold, but you can upgrade your weapons and skills in between missions.

This game is underrated and does not deserve the low scores its receiving. Hopefully I can provide a decent enough review that allows people to steer clear of this game or pick it up based on my review. Hopefully I can provide a decent enough review that allows people to steer clear of this game or pick it up based on my review. The first thing I would like to say is its my opinion the low scores are rolling in almost exclusively for two reasons. Both reasons go hand in hand and that is the developers of this game made a speculation and that speculation is not paying out. The first gamble and unwise decision this team made was to turn the Sacred series into a reinvention of guantlet and probably they thought they could get away with this by clearly advertising this is an aracade hack and slash. Games like this used to be big but that is the past and clearly if you look around your street arcades do not exist and I think this developer thought maybe there was an untapped market for a Guantlet style game on consoles afterall multiplayer is still a huge concept. Unfortunately I think this gamble is a fail, most people crave next generation appeal and so this is a no go. On top of that they gambled that Sacred 3 fans would enjoy this change. I mean rock bands do it- change their sound every album- now its the way things are evolving and so I think this developer talked themselves into trying a new gamestyle. Well two major gambles in one game and clearly the fans are not understanding what this developer was going for and it is translating into huge negative scoring and thats unfortunate because this actually is a fairly decent solid and fun game with lots of replayability. My opinion is if this game was released in the ps2 days it would have been a huge success but in todays crowded market of next generation appeal there is not much reason to like this game. Its oldschool in approach and its getting punished for it. Ok so here is my advice, if you still enjoy retro gaming this game is a game you should try the nostalgia might be for you. For everyone else I think you will be disappointed even though its clearly labeled as arcade. You know theres only so many times you can remake a game or movie before its going to be immediately prejudged just like this game became victim of. But without question this game does not deserve its scores it is not broken nor brutal its just misplaced. Expand

First of all I do not own this game and never will. I am a huge fan of RPGs and this game couldn't be farther from it. No loot equals no customization which is the heart of any RPG in my opinion. Not only is it a disgrace to the "open world" of Sacred but should not share the same title. Deep Silver should be ashamed of themselves and will likely see themselves out of business if they create another flop like this. Do not buy this game if you are any type of a RPG fanatic. Expand

I played Sacred 2....and actually hated it. But..I love Sacred 3 so far. Rating a game purely on how it met expectations is a poor review. You need Gauntlet HD on PS3 ? It is Sacred 3, no more no less. Good hack n' slash, very good musique, simple and addictive. 8 for a good gauntlet game, but if you wish the following of Sacred 2, you will be very disapointed. It's better than Dungeon Siege III but Diablo III is better.

I give the game 1 for awesome graphics. The first boss is so far IMPOSSIBLE to beat even on easy so yeah. I WON'T be buying any merchandise from the makers of this game again and don't waste your money if you're a casual player...this one's on the nose for spoiling what looked like fun.

I was excited to try out Sacred 3 at first, since I had heard good things about the previous games. The more I played it, the more the cracks showed, and the more disappointment set in.
