Technically the game is pretty average for its time, there's some good destruction but the background is always blur which is pretty annoying, there's no bugs or framerate issues that I could see but the camera during fist fight will sometimes be in a wrong angle and get on your nerves.

The gameplay will alternate, in a nice pace, third person shooting phases, with a good cover system but globally pretty classic and fist fighting sequences that made the distinction of the Bourne trilogy in theaters, unfortunately the Batman Arkham games weren't out yet (this system would have work perfectly) and therefore the gameplay is closer to a Tekken with slow pace, and more or less 1 VS 1 fighting (sometimes you have a small QTE to doge a punch from an other guy) but they did capture the good use of the environment with lots of interactions possible and it's very fun to bash someone into a crate or whatever.

Concerning the story it follows the scenario of the first movie with additional levels in the form of "flashbacks", if you know the movie then you'll be pretty familiar with it, but for someone that would buy the game without previous knowledge the story and motivations of the characters can be pretty unclear, they didn't took the time to develop things in its 8 hours long campaign which is too short, as always I consider that the bare minimum for a game that is solo only its 12 hours.

So in conclusion the game isn't bad, it's faithful to its origins and is globally fun to play but some design errors (choice of combat system in particular), average graphics and the lack of efforts to please new Bourne consumers make this game for from unmissable. If there's ever a sequel there's potential to make a better game, but the poor sales make it unlikely. Advisable for the ones that love both Bourne franchise and action game.

I loved the books and the movies, when I heard this game was coming out I got excited. When I first got it home there was an issue with the sound cutting in and out. So I put up with it for a while to see what the game was like. It seemed ok at first, but I quickly realised I wasn't in control of as much of the action as I would've liked. Next day took it back, and exchanged it thinking the disk might have been damaged. When I got the new disk home, I re-installed, and started to play again. Exactly the same problem. Took it back again and got something else. Very ordinary experience. Expand

Pros: Fantastic action scenes make you believe you're bourne, nice sound and music, lots of different stages and missions
Cons: the graphics are bad and don't show what the unreal engine can do, a lot of the stages are not from the movie and are a bit lame, huge installation and loading from HDD

This is a fast action game and its very similar to the demo. If you liked the demo you will like the game. The fighting system is great. The takedowns and use of the Bourne Instinct are unique and are what makes this game different. The quick action sequences are also nicely done and let you feel like Bourne as he kicks some butt.

The hand fighting is the highlight of the game. I think the criticisms of the shooting are overblown. You can cover, pop out and have different guns throughout hte game. There is no lock on but that would make it too easy. You get shooting takedowns as well. I would recommend increasing the looking speed to help with the gun fights.

Its not a revolutionary title nor is it an open world game where you can explore. Its a very linear but fun action paced title. It can get repetitive at times and the story line so far has been a weak point. I was expecting better there.
This game is certainly worth a rental and a fun game to play. I'd give it a 7.5 but I'll round up to 8.

Great game that does some innovative stuff. Fill in the story a little more and tweak a few gameplay issues (more stealth-Bourne is sent in because he doesn't exist, not because he can blow everything up!) and this would have been a 9 or 9.5. Overall great job High Moon. I'm looking forward to the next one.

This game is a good-looking and at times, very playable, mess. There is no real element of stealth in this game, which you would think it would have in spades, with Bourne supposedly being a bad ass assassin and all, and if you have a gun drawn, be prepared to move like an old man. Games like this make me wish Hideo Kojima would continue Metal Gear Solid beyond number 4, because every Metal Gear knockoff I've encountered gets it all wrong. Rent Bourne Conspiracy, but do not buy it. This is coming from a fan of both the movies and the books and someone who really wanted to love this game. Expand

I actually really enjoyed this game when it first came out. It's a linear experience, which is fine because the story is terrific, and the fighting mechanics are really good. I'd definitely recommend this to any Bourne fans... I always hoped for a follow up to this, it's certainly worthy in my opinion.

I guess I'm only writing thise review because its 2016 and this game is pretty old and I only wanted to let people know if its still worth checking out. Some of the things I enjoyed about the game were that it does capture the feel of being Bourne - the action was there and I did enjoy the progressive nature of the checkpoint system. The game did move you ahead. I really enjoyed the quick time elements because they were random and not memorisable. The game itself was fun and enjoyable. Where the game lost me however was if you were not fast enough to take out a player by stealth or gunplay you were mobbed and forced to handfight and some of these battles were just time consuming nonsense and repetitive. Also with your gun drawn I do agree with another reviewer you turn into a slow moving old man. A lot of good was in this game I would not write it off for anyone interested but after an hour of gameplay for me I would prefer to spend my time trying out all the other 400-500 games I don't have time to try instead. Жаль разработчикам не хватило влияния или денег на внешность Мэта Деймона, игра от этого только бы выиграла.

I've been on a serious movie game kick.

You alternate between third person shooting segments and hand to hand combat segments. Pretty straight forward but there's never any variation of that. And the shooting and combat sections aren't even that particularly fun. The combat sections force you into a 1v1 perspective and it plays out like a fight night game. It's sort of interesting and unique the way that they did it. You could see how in a few years it would have been an arkham knock off.

But this needed variation. I played through about half the game. There was never an entire stealth section. There was no driving section. There were no minigames or puzzles. There was one sniping moment but all it was, was a quick time event. Oh man the QTEs in this game. It loves them! And god forbid you fail one because you will go back a significant portion in the level. Incredibly annoying. Even though you fight cops, terrorists, and US Marines none of them feel distinct from one another. None of them have their own unique fight style and instead are simply just a reskin of the same character model. Another example of the need for variation.

But I do have to say you would be hard pressed to find a movie video game that better replicates the feeling of a movie. The way they intersplice animations and cut scenes with combat makes it feel very cinematic. It looks pretty good for 2008 and even if I didn't love the combat I don't think I could ever get sick of the finishing animations of this game. I found myself throwing karate chops and elbows along with Jason Bourne. The sound effects are really well done and the punches and cracks and snaps have a real punch and weight to them. I'd be remiss to not mention how much fun it was to blow through enemies with the shotgun in this game. That had a real weight to it too.

Just like GI Joe, this game didn't get the movie actors to voice their characters. That's really the only thing the Watchmen game has on these past two I've written about. This game wasn't very glitchy. The only thing I noticed was the sound cut out a couple times on me. The second time it happened, the game crashed which I took as a sign to stop playing.

Ultimately this wasn't terrible, but it just wasn't that much fun either. It felt unique in a sense, but also like a missed opportunity.

This game is bad. It amounts to a chain of horrible quicktime events with an awful checkpoint system.
