Jul 18, 2012Resident Evil Chronicles HD is easily one of the best choices among the Move-enabled games available today.
-
Nov 15, 2012If you are an RE fan and haven't played the Wii version of the games before, I suggest you buy it now.
-
Aug 28, 2012If you're a fan of Resident Evil or rail-shooters and you own a Move controller then Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection is a no brainer.
-
Jul 6, 2012Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection offers a fun, exciting way to relieve some of the most important events from Resident Evil saga.
-
Jul 3, 2012Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection offers two solid rail shooters packed to the rafters with challenging gameplay, ample fan service, and yet another reason to dust off those PS Move controllers.
-
Jul 2, 2012Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection has a full summary of all the older Resident Evil titles with on-rails shooter gameplay, but you need a PS Move to get the most out of it.
-
Jun 30, 2012If you enjoyed them then, you'll enjoy them now, but there's nothing to entice you to purchase them again beyond Trophy support or slightly smoother graphics if you already had the originals.
-
Jun 27, 2012Another time, same old story. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles gets an hi-def-lifting and go straight to PlayStation Network. Not bad at all.
-
Jun 26, 2012Between the updated visuals and improved gameplay, this is definitive way to experience the Resident Evil: Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles.
-
Jul 3, 2012Nevertheless, both games are very solid and fun. You can get quite a lot of play out of them, and with many collectables to find in both, trying to get 100% completion will give you many hours of enjoyment. For me, playing these games has been so delightful, and they have made me want to try some of the other titles in the series.
-
Jun 27, 2012Although it is a port and doesn't shine visually, it is still Resident Evil and offer great horror gameplay. The game achieves to feel dangerous, and if you have PlayStation Move, this is a great chance to enjoy two Wii classics.
-
Jun 26, 2012RE Chronicles HD Collection is an interesting DLC for PS3 users, offering two classic Wii shooters on rails in HD fashion.
-
Jun 26, 2012Chronicles HD Collection is a product for the fans because it´s a wonderful summary of the major points in the complex Resident Evil storyline. The cooperative mode is the most interesting and a great experience in rail shooting.
-
Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxSep 13, 2012Despite Capcom's bandaging these games do show their age. Luckily the gameplay is truly timeless. These rail shooters are inspired by The House of the Dead, an arcade classic which was also remade recently for the PlayStation Move. [September 2012, p.84]
-
Aug 24, 2012The HD collection brings the on-rails action to the PS3 with zombies and leeches and yeti looking things, oh my! The Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles keep you entertained with huge worm looking enemies and zombies. Yes, more zombies. I've enjoyed the majority of the Resident Evil series and feel that this collection is a great addition to any gamer's backlog. It retains the dark, ominous mystery that Resident Evil encompasses in each game and only surrounds you with the story of good versus evil in a world covered in zombies.
-
Aug 17, 2012The Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection proves a faithful translations of one of the more interesting footnotes in the Resident Evil canon, and at least the Darkside Chronicles half of it remains a solidly-realized rail shooter-and one that's accessible even for people without the Move controller. I can't help but feel that it's a missed opportunity for developers to go back and fix problems in the original product, though.
-
Jul 19, 2012Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection doesn't turn the genre on its head, and it certainly isn't a must have, but if you're looking for some lightgun fun, by yourself or with a friend,Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection is a recommended investment for a few afternoons of zombie blasting fun.
-
Jul 18, 2012Two player co-op works like a dream and allows for quick drop-in drop-out gameplay, something that many rail-shooters seem to forget.
-
Jul 5, 2012It feels great to blast though the hordes of zombies and monsters and especially the big guns will leave you with a wicked smile. If you haven't played it on the Wii, own a Move and are not averse to the one-sided gameplay, it´s an easy buy.
-
Jun 26, 2012Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection is a solid pairing considering the price tag, but with nothing new besides the HD facelift, there's little here to entice veteran players.
-
Jun 26, 2012One of the best on-rail shooters around, with all its limitations, in shiny HD. If you love the genre get it, it's one of the few good reasons to own a Playstation Move after all.
-
Jul 5, 2012Overall Darkside Chronicles is pretty fun, and while not without its own set of flaws, it's clearly the part of this collection that's going to be worth checking out. Unless you're some type of Resident Evil die-hard though, I'd urge you to avoid Umbrella Chronicles, as I find it to be a pretty weak entry that does little more than retell you the plot highlights from a few of the previous Resident Evil titles, and certainly feels less polished when stacked up against Darkside Chronicles. And at $15, Darkside Chronicles is easily worth the asking price, and makes for a pretty fun experience.
-
CD-ActionJul 31, 2012Spend your money on Chronicles HD Collection only if you answer these two questions positively: are you a die-hard fan of Resident Evil and do you feel like playing an on-rails shooter? [September 2012, p.76]
-
Jul 31, 2012The Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection may be a great example of light-gun gaming on a home console (as long as you have Move), but no matter how fun it is, you're still just hitting one button for 90% percent of the game. Leave that stuff in the arcade where it belongs.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKJul 31, 2012Works well with Move, for what it's worth. [Aug 2012, p.105]
-
Jul 9, 2012As mindlessly entertaining as any lightgun game, and with lots of zombie-themed nostalgia - but none of the pacing or showmanship of the best of the genre.
-
Games Master UKJul 24, 2012Resi may be a compelling series but this collection is outdated and too repetitive. [Sept 2012, p.107]
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Aug 1, 2012Resident Evil completionists who missed these simple shooters elsewhere may find them briefly amusing, but casual Move enthusiasts needn't snag both. [Sept 2012, p.85]
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKJul 17, 2012This courts motion sickness with a bottle of wine and a mixtape. [Aug 2012, p.107]
-
Jul 2, 2012Keep in mind, though, that you'll be able to buy it separately for less within a few weeks, and for people who just want a decent lightgun game, that'll be a better deal in my opinion. That said, neither game is good enough to spend money on unless you're a diehard Resident Evil fan. Even then, there are better ways to blow $30 bucks in the name of fandom, like buying as many of the Resident Evil films on DVD as you can.
