Oct 31, 2011In case you haven't heard: Resident Evil 4 is kind of a big deal. With its quick pacing, intriguing narrative and unbelievable graphics, this is one of Capcom's best games. This $20 PlayStation 3 port improves the visuals, adds leaderboard support and introduces trophies into the mix. Come see why Resident Evil 4 remains the best survival horror game ever made!
-
Sep 20, 2011The updated visuals aren't mind-blowing, but they present the best way to return to this already stellar game. If you somehow missed out on Resident Evil 4 when it turned heads on the GameCube, this is the perfect time to give it a download and see what all the fuss is about.

Playstation Official Magazine UKOct 11, 2011This set new standards in creating exhilarating set-pieces and pacing. [Nov 2011, p.96]

Sep 21, 2011A true killer app when it was released on the GameCube in 2005, Resident Evil 4 was a decisive take on the series, and on the action genre as a whole.
-
Sep 21, 2011At the end of the day, what you've got here is unequivocally one of the greatest action-horror outings of all time, and an absolute must-have for Resi fans and newcomers alike.
-
Sep 20, 2011Resident Evil 4 is a 10 out of 10 game. This repackaging of the game is not a 10 out of 10 product. If you already own Resident Evil 4 on the Wii, there is absolutely no reason to buy it here other than the HD-ness, which did nothing for me.
-
Sep 19, 2011While the opening chapter proved to be a lesson in re-learning how to play, once it all clicked again it became apparent just how much I love Capcom's highly-celebrated game. For me it's easily the best Resident Evil title, and an absolute must-buy for anyone interested in action or horror. Resident Evil 4 remains one of the greats.
-
Sep 28, 2011Resident Evil 4 is still one of the best games of the last generation and one of the best chapters in the series, but Capcom has made almost no effort to reinvest in this title. The mere introduction of the HD doesn't manage to bring up to date the graphics, but the game overall is so good that we can easily override the problem.
-
Sep 21, 2011If you're not necessarily a fan of the series or haven't yet played Resident Evil 4, this is arguably the best the franchise has to offer, and the slick new look brings it closer to what we've come to expect visually from games this generation. Resident Evil 4 HD isn't a perfect port, but it offers a ton of content for a budget price.

PSM3 Magazine UKNov 13, 2011The lazy HD conversion is disappointing. [Dec 2011, p.97]
-
Oct 16, 2011For those who have played the game countless times on either the PS2 or the Wii, there's really no point in owning this version unless you're a super fan of the series or this entry in particular. However, if you've never tried the game before or owned systems that didn't get Resident Evil 4 iterations in the past, this is a great time to get the game.
-
Sep 20, 2011With excellent controls, memorable baddies, and a cheesy story worthy of the Resident Evil branding, gamers should take it upon themselves to play this at some point if they haven't already.
-
Oct 3, 2011If you're a Resident Evil 4 veteran that has played through its many reissues over the years, there's not really much to be impressed by this release on the current-gen consoles. Even so, Resident Evil 4 is still a terrifying ride, especially if you missed it the first time around and would like to experience one of the most influential games from the past decade.
-
Sep 20, 2011Unless you absolutely need to have a moderate-looking HD version, you'd be better off with the Wii iteration because it includes multiple control setups and all the same extra features.
-
Nov 15, 2011This game is still one of the best games ever. Scary, memorable and revolutionary. Therefore it's a shame that the HD in the title doesn't at all translate itself into a noticeable graphical upgrade.
-
Oct 26, 2011If you've never played Resident Evil 4, then the $20 price of entry is worth it and I highly recommend you experience the survival-horror genre at its finest. Especially considering that the genre has become something of an extinct race, particularly on consoles. If you're already familiar with the game it really comes down to how fond you were of that first experience.
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaMar 6, 2012This is Resi at its peak. Shame that it's a straight port, though. [Dec 2011, p81]
-
Oct 17, 2011Resident Evil 4 HD unfortunately isn't the remaster it could have been, and its upscaled textures and lack of Move support are more than a little annoying. However, in the end this is still one of the greatest games ever made.
-
Oct 2, 2011This is still Resident Evil 4. The mechanics are still great, the art and score are still mesmerizing. If you have the $20 to spare and want the convenience of a digital download, it's worth grabbing.
-
Sep 26, 2011There is no reason why you shouldn't buy Resident Evil 4 HD if you've never played it before or don't already own a previous release. It's almost the definitive version of the game, but not quite.
-
Sep 21, 2011HD edition of Resident Evil 4 retains all the qualities of the original... probably the best Resident Evil title.
-
Sep 21, 2011Experiencing Resident 4 HD, everything is as it ever was. The visual upgrade is well received, and the game's narrative is as terrifying and enticing as ever. Capcom have played this one safe, as it would have been nice to see them try and mix things up with a new inventory system.
-
Sep 20, 2011It is the same great game we enjoyed six years ago, but visually upgraded. Its gameplay hasn't aged, and its levels are still varied and thrilling. We only miss a retail edition including this game and Code Veronica HD, just like in Japan, as the digital download can be considered pricey by many players.
-
Sep 19, 2011Resident Evil 4 is still an outstanding shooter, but as I keep re-iterating with these recent high-def rereleases, your mileage is bound to vary.
-
Sep 26, 2011Α piece of gaming history reaches its sixth release in the same number of years. While it remains a great gaming experience, some old-school mechanics and the poor HD implementation make us realize it's time to let Leon and Ashley get some rest.
-
Sep 21, 2011This upscaling fest is suitable just for those that have missed the original and don't have anymore the original consoles. Everyone else won't find any good reason to spend 20 euros.
-
Sep 19, 2011Resident Evil 4 is a brilliant game, but that's exactly why Resident Evil 4 HD is such a disappointment. This is no definitive version or director's cut (wouldn't that be something), but a criminally half-baked attempt to winkle a little extra cash from the still-beating heart of a classic. Resi 4 deserves better than this; Resi 4's legions of devoted fans deserve better than this; and Capcom should be much better than this.
