    Make no mistake: this is the best game that Rockstar have created since GTA: San Andreas. Almost everything in this game is perfect, and even now I find myself returning to this masterpiece once in a while. The ultimate western game that is 200% worthy of your time and interest, and I hope that it will be a fundamental for the future Wild West/western-themed games.

    An absolute classic. I thought Rockstar started to loose their way, falling into repetition with the Grand Theft Auto series after San Andreas, and this game showed just how amazing Rockstar is. From the opening scene the tone is set with an incredable haunting score. You witness high brow passengers on a train talk of how great it will be to finally bring civilization to these savages.An absolute classic. "They may have lost their land, but they've gained everything else." "Yes they live like animals, but they're happier now." A young lady question's her father's religious beliefs as it doesn't seem to make sense that an innocent would go to hell unless they receive communion. It's these types of questions that we ask ourselves through the incredable well written and engaging narrative. What is moral? What odds are we up against? Life isn't so black and white. The gameplay is top notch for its time, the characters are layered from comical, to sad. Theres a biting satire to Rockstar's work, yet the ending left me more emotional than any video game I can remember.
    In 2010 the game looked beautiful. It's dated now, but on a recent play through I still felt the beauty of the crafted sunsets, to the cool shade beneath "Tall Trees." I can't wait for the second one to come out next week!    … Expand

    One of the best games from Rockstar. An engaging story-telling, characters and immersive world makes it the best western game ever made. This game is worth buying PS3.

    I'm writing this in retrospect, as acknowledgment of a true accomplishment. I've upgraded to PS4 and played many more games since, just recently Witcher 3 w/ all add ons, but nothing really ever left quite the impression on me than RDR. There are two moments that will stick with me forever: the first when you unlock a new part of the map, in my case at dusk of dawn, and you ride along aI'm writing this in retrospect, as acknowledgment of a true accomplishment. I'm not sure if that's a memorable moment for anyone else, but it invoked ALL the wonderful clichees about Westerns all at once, and made you FEEL them. And then i bawled my eyes out when the flawed character in desperate need of redemption and meaning to his life is cut short just when he seemingly finally achieved it. Poetic justice, but what poetry is involved. I loved this game. Thanks to the writers. You created a world and a character that i haven't found in any other game since.… Expand

This game remains my favourite game of all time, despite lots of more recent work by Rockstar Games, Naughty Dog, etc. For its time, it had an incredible sense of atmosphere, helped by a wonderful score. Due to its wonderous design it really felt like you were a lone ranger, having to travel throughout the dangerous wild west. It was the first game to ever make me cry (only three others have done so since) due to the attachment I had to John by the end of the game. Free roam online with my friends was also a blast and some of the most fun I've ever had. I think this was partly due to the fundamental freedom of aiming weapons you had on horseback while still being able to move fast, enabled by a good controller scheme. If RDR 2 can be as good as this was at the time, the world will have to wait for me while I play it.… Expand

    Só uma observação, não vou incluir o modo online nessa minha avaliação.
    Red Dead tem uma história fenomenal, com um ótimo protagonista e outros ótimos personagens que também são importantes na história, você consegue sentir um carinho por tal personagem,    [PT-BR] Ahhh, Red Dead Redemption... o que dizer dessa obra prima da Rockstar? Disparadamente meu jogo favorito da geração PS3 e 360.

    Red Dead tem uma história fenomenal, com um ótimo protagonista e outros ótimos personagens que também são importantes na história, você consegue sentir um carinho por tal personagem, você consegue entender as motivações do outro personagem, você consegue sentir ódio do vilão, esse jogo traz um roteiro recheado de personagens memoráveis, reviravoltas, emoções, vingança, enfim, simplesmente incrível.
    O jogo tem uma boa trilha sonora, um bom gameplay (que serviu de inspiração pra GTA V), um cenário lindo, vários colecionáveis e missões secundárias pra fazer por aí, coisas que se esperam de um mundo aberto da Rockstar.
    Na minha humilde opinião, esse jogo deixa qualquer outro jogo da franquia GTA no chinelo, vale e vale MUITO joga-lo.    … Expand

    Wonderful game with outstanding graphics and interesting plot. You have a lot of interesting missions in live open world. You cam hunt or take a part in horse racing. 10 out of 10.

    Uno de los mejores juegos de la historia.
    Poco más que añadir, lo único que no me ha gustado es que lo haya jugado tan tarde. Tardé como un año o dos desde su salida en jugarlo.

    Comprei em 2016 porque queria muito estar imerso em um ambiente de cowboys. Foi diversão na certa. História imprevisível. Quando você acha que está chegando ao fim, você tem uma surpresa. Mecânicas emocionantes envolvendo combate montado e perseguição. Acho dificílimo começar a jogar e não finalizar, embora tenha 3 primos que tem acesso ao jogo e acredito que não se empolgaram muito.     This is, ironically, the most unoriginal and disappointing sequel (prequel) that I could have imagined being released. Very little gameplay innovation here (outside enhanced graphics).

    Even now, almost 9 years after the release, it still is one of the greatest games to play. The story is believable, you get sucked into the characters and it is difficult to put away the controller. This games is THE reason to still own a PS3. The open world is amazing. You can just go and hunt, play poker, rob a train or whatever you want to do. My son saw the game on the PS3 and commented it looked better than Fortnite, which is played on the PS4 Pro. This is of course not a objective statement, but it tells a bit how it is. I love the dynamic weather and the day and night changes. For me the good thing is that it is not too difficult to play. Because the game is so long, you need to progress and not be stuck in one mission for 4 nights.… Expand

    In my 30 years of gaming, Red Dead Redemption is my favourite game to date. It’s a shame R* didn’t supersede this with RDR2. A true Masterpiece if you’re into Wild West movies and feel like taking the role of the lead character.

    After finally completing Red Dead Redemption I have these things to say. Other than a few glitches, there is absolutely nothing wrong with red dead redemption. For a game 10 years old the graphics, music and gameplay isn't even dated which I find amazing. We are just getting started. Red dead follows John Marston and his conquest to earn back his family from the US    Spoiler Alert.
    After finally completing Red Dead Redemption I have these things to say. Other than a few glitches, there is absolutely nothing wrong with red dead redemption. For a game 10 years old the graphics, music and gameplay isn't even dated which I find amazing. We are just getting started. Red dead follows John Marston and his conquest to earn back his family from the US government, to do so he must hunt down his fellow gang members who betrayed him and left him for dead. The story starts when John is saved by Bonnie MacFarlane a local rancher, she helps John and soon John begins his epic conquest. In this amazing 10/10 story, John meets new people such as the Marshall, Seth, Irish, N.W Dickens and more, John continues to hunt down the gang members and eventually it leads him to Mexico. Mexico was a big part of the story and I was completely blown away by the music, story and gameplay there. Eventually John gets back to America and kills the last member of his gang. The ending half of Red Dead in my honest to god opinion, is the greatest video game ending half in video game history. John returns to his family and everything seems good, and spends quality time with his family, however the game makes the daring decision to kill Marston, yet somehow, they pull it off perfectly. Even for a game that is ten years old, online mode is still active and booming with fun. Hunting and shooting mechanics are flawless. The graphics for its age are again, amazing. The game excels at putting you in Johns shoes and making you feel like you are really there, in 1911. Even for a game that is ten years old, I found myself playing it more than every new game I have on my console. Rockstar games made a masterpiece, and I got it for ten dollars yet it beats games I've spent 100 dollars on. Strongly recommended for everyone. Warning you might cry.    … Expand

The game never openly directs you to act like a "good guy" (despite having the karma rating) but by the narrative / script you are driven to act this way, which has never happened to me in any gameRockstar masterpiece. It surpasses on a large scale both Grand Theft Auto IV (from the beginning of that generation - X360 and PS3) and Grand Theft Auto V (exhaustively relaunched until today). The game never openly directs you to act like a "good guy" (despite having the karma rating) but by the narrative / script you are driven to act this way, which has never happened to me in any game before.     10. Para mi es unos de los mejores juegos de la historia, muy buenos gráficos para la época que salió, grandes personajes, historia larga pero no te aburres en ningún momento y tiene unos de los finales más icónicos de los videojuegos. Para mi es el mejor videojuego que ha sacado Rockstar.
