    First of all the graphics look sensational in this game. the character animation and the animations of the animal movements were almost lifelike. Great soundtrack, rememberable dialogues. There are so many great things about this game.

    The story takes place in the WIld West. You are a bounty hunter named John Marston. You must find your formed brothers in arms and caprture of kill them. You meet many interesting and weird characters. Like a simple rancher or a creapy grave-rading, treasure-huntin, coot. The missions were varied and the element that were introduced in most of them make for some rememberable moments.
    The gunplay is engaging and fun. You even get to slow down time with the Dead Eye triger. which allows you to mark specific spots on your targets and blast your way through areas a normal man wouldnt dare to go.

    Overall RDR is one of the best videogames I have ever played, and I would recoment it to any gamer out there. A real jewel in gaming. Great, story, characters, combat, grapchis, landscapes, sidemisions and activities, and even a fun miltiplayer. This is a game you dont want to miss out.    … Expand

    I was just recently told by a friend that I should play this game because I'm really into gta and I love open world games. I just never found the time to play this one and man was that a huge mistake!!! This is definitely my favorite game of last gen along with The Last of Us. First of all the story is amazing!!!!     Like this 1 better than gta (not that there is anything wrong with gta well, besides lack of challenge and mechanics.) like the story better, like characters better, like setting better. This is the king of this type of game so far.

    One of the rare games that deserves a 10. The wild west feels alive and rdr was one of the first open world games, where the world felt really alive. Gameplay mechanics fit perfectly and shooting in this game is just so good. Storywise it's also rarity especially from open world game. John Marston is charismatic lead and also my favorite character in gaming.

    Even 5 years after the original release, Red Dead Redemption remains one of my favourite games of all time and the best open-world game that ever existed with games like GTA V being only a humble followers of its greatness.

    Una buena historia, misiones secundarias y aleatorias, personajes carismáticos, gráficamente bueno para la época en que salio. La bso es buena, el mapeado tiene un tamaño considerable y artísticamente está bien.
    El mejor juego de Rockstar hasta el día de hoy (mejor que GTA V).
    Lástima que a Rockstar no le de la gana de doblar sus juegos.

    Quite possible Rockstar's greatest game ever made. Definitely one of the best console games ever. The shooting is perfect, the story is exceptional, the riding is fluid and feels real. I got unbelievably emotionally attached to this game. Its also the only game I've 100% it. And its definitely worth it. 10/10/10/10/10/10!

    Red dead redemption have a clearly unique style. I enjoyed the story and found it very interesting and it make it better with the characters who are very well written and can be very believable. The end was heartbreaking and the western world is clearly the best represented in this game. I enjoyed each part of this game and all the story make us want to know the end.     GTA in the old West, this game is unbelievable immersive and (next to GTAV) the best game on PS3. Riding a horse through the prairie with a gun in your hand a shotgun on your back, shooting birds from the sky and chasing bandits is so much fun!

    The graphics are great, the music is fantastic, the missions are mostly fun. I can't wait for the sequel to come out on PS4!

    Way better than GTA, so much fun. Great storyline and side quests. Main reason I am posting this review is because this game deserves much more credit than the same recycled trash that is the GTA series.

    Can't believe I have not written a review for this game yet. Who does not like the wild west? Gameplay is great. Graphics and landscape amazing. Beautiful land. Fun stories, great characters. And open game play makes it really amazing.

    That's a good game from the creators of the best selling sandbox games that there are on the market. The most important part of the game is the map, which is pretty large and is beautiful to live in, with many animals to shoot, horses to tame, and is fun also to just explore.
    I think the creators wanted the narrative part to be equally important, but to me it was less interesting and too much wishy-washy in an everlasting main quest, and not so interesting secondary quest.
    what i wanted in the game was actual interactivity, building a ranch piece by piece, making little money, buying animals to breed in the ranch, buying properties not only to sleep in it or to save the game. hiring people to work with you, that would have made a much more immersive experience and would have extended the longevity over the main quest at the end of which, I quitted the game.    … Expand

    This game made me fall in love with Westerns as a genre. Interesting characters, immersive sandbox and a cinematic feeling that doesn't limit player freedom (outside of missions), tied together with some passable shooting and horseriding.

    Even without the online, this game's certainly worth your time.

And then comes the end (SPOILER) John dies, and it wasn't the way I wanted it to be, he was just coughing blood and didn't any last emotional words, and even the douche that was there to kill him, didn't say **** so then after you become his son Jack and now you gotta go find the killer and when you finally kill him in a duel and the credits role, it's just disappointing. If your contemplating to get this game, Just get it, it's an awesome, game and I would've gave it a 9/10 but the ending just killed, it, when you do get the game just don't play the last mission, It'll piss you off!!!!!… Expand

    In some rare moments of scenario i was in rage, but all game is worth to complete.
    Significant example of improvement in game development after GTA 4 and before GTA 5.

    This game deserves an 8 or 9. I choose an 8 because I can't say what it is but I feel it lacks something. The Far West atmosphere has been really well done. Graphics could be a little bit better though you have to think that it was launch in 2010. Also, in a few missions if you were far from your partner you had to do the mission again and I think this could have been improved. SometimesThis game deserves an 8 or 9. Sometimes you can get tired of riding but think that you can always use the camp to travel instantly. Oh! And don't forget the last mission! It won't appear in the map. Search in the Internet where to go because it was very easy to find. About difficulty it's not a difficult game. Just remember to use the Red Eye especially when you have many enemies in one side. To make sure hit them twice. They don't normally die with one shot although it depends also on the weapon and I think the distance too. It took me almost 19 hours with most of the extra missions completed. Yes it's a must have although you'll find nothing that you haven't seen in other games (or maybe I've played to many games, who knows...)… Expand

    so much fun a must get honestly even just riding through the games beatiful scenery is fun but there so much to do in its large open world. It also has a very interseting story where lots happens. My only complaint is that running doesnt feel fluid and thats it.

    I happen to be a big fan of the Rockstar set of games and this one was absolutely an amazing experience. I played this after I finished off GTA V. John Marston is an excellent character build up and offers an enjoyable story and gaming experience. Just the best possible western game out there....

    Great story mode, including awesome characters and full of very good references to spaghetti western movies.
    It will remain in my heart for decades!

    The over all game felt disjointed with the extra missions very hard to find, i had to google where to find them otherwise i would have never have found half of them, this alone damper my overall experience of the game, The honor system in this game is pointless and i never felt the need to commit any crimes, as the payoff was not worth the effort.. The action is summersive, the ambience is perfect, the beautiful landscapes, those skies that make you feel you are trully galloping to the horizon like a cowboy... the characters, like always in any GTA game, are full of charisma, and the story and littleAbsolutely loved it. I like GTA games; well, this one was over them. Even if it was more simpler, and smaller (for obvious reasons). The action is summersive, the ambience is perfect, the beautiful landscapes, those skies that make you feel you are trully galloping to the horizon like a cowboy... the characters, like always in any GTA game, are full of charisma, and the story and little sidequest stories catch you. Of course it also has the typical flawns from any GTA game. But the epicness, the greatness of this game, masks them. And despite you know how badly ends the game, you will play it again, and even do things differently. A must play, you like this genre or not (it may convert you).

    Red dead redemption is a fun game it's kinda like gta5 but in the days before cars and they rode horses on red dead redemption it's kinda relaxing because there aren't other people trying to kill you like gta 5 the people that made it knew what they were doing and the controls are easy to get the hang of and my favorite part of the game is the missions on the missions you go and like one mission is watch the town for the night so you walk around town in a circle for a while then you see these things running ahead of you than the lady that is helping you says pull out your gun shoot them before they go and kill the cows than after that on you follow the lady and she says.
    I recommend this game if you like playing gta 5 but you rage and this game is basicly gta but if you rage then this game would be a good calm down for you.    … Expand

    Make no mistake: this is the best game that Rockstar have created since GTA: San Andreas. Almost everything in this game is perfect, and even now I find myself returning to this masterpiece once in a while. The ultimate western game that is 200% worthy of your time and interest, and I hope that it will be a fundamental for the future Wild West/western-themed games.

    One of the best sandbox games of all time. All in this game was made thinking in perfection and rockstar done it. Graphic aspect was stunning at it's time. History is worthy for the cinema. I only can tell you to play it, if you didn't do before.

A young lady question's her father's religious beliefs as it doesn't seem to make sense that an innocent would go to hell unless they receive communion. It's these types of questions that we ask ourselves through the incredable well written and engaging narrative. What is moral? What odds are we up against? Life isn't so black and white. The gameplay is top notch for its time, the characters are layered from comical, to sad. Theres a biting satire to Rockstar's work, yet the ending left me more emotional than any video game I can remember.

This game remains my favourite game of all time, despite lots of more recent work by Rockstar Games, Naughty Dog, etc. For its time, it had an incredible sense of atmosphere, helped by a wonderful score. Due to its wonderous design it really felt like you were a lone ranger, having to travel throughout the dangerous wild west. It was the first game to ever make me cry (only three others have done so since) due to the attachment I had to John by the end of the game. Free roam online with my friends was also a blast and some of the most fun I've ever had. I think this was partly due to the fundamental freedom of aiming weapons you had on horseback while still being able to move fast, enabled by a good controller scheme. If RDR 2 can be as good as this was at the time, the world will have to wait for me while I play it.… Expand

    An amazing action adventure that throws you into a beautiful recreation of the old west. There is a solid main narrative but the only thing that holds it back from a 10, having just finished the witcher 3, stories, missions and quests are repetitive and bland beyond the main plot.

    The best thing about this game is the atmosphere. From the first moment you feel the true western feeling. John Marston is a somewhat superficial character and the world is sometimes too empty, but for that time it was a totally new experience that has resulted in many hours of fun. Even RDR2 had less of a western feeling so the game is feally unique!

    In my 30 years of gaming, Red Dead Redemption is my favourite game to date. It’s a shame R* didn’t supersede this with RDR2. A true Masterpiece if you’re into Wild West movies and feel like taking the role of the lead character.

Red dead follows John Marston and his conquest to earn back his family from the US government, to do so he must hunt down his fellow gang members who betrayed him and left him for dead. The story starts when John is saved by Bonnie MacFarlane a local rancher, she helps John and soon John begins his epic conquest. In this amazing 10/10 story, John meets new people such as the Marshall, Seth, Irish, N.W Dickens and more, John continues to hunt down the gang members and eventually it leads him to Mexico. Mexico was a big part of the story and I was completely blown away by the music, story and gameplay there. Eventually John gets back to America and kills the last member of his gang. The ending half of Red Dead in my honest to god opinion, is the greatest video game ending half in video game history. John returns to his family and everything seems good, and spends quality time with his family, however the game makes the daring decision to kill Marston, yet somehow, they pull it off perfectly. Even for a game that is ten years old, online mode is still active and booming with fun. Hunting and shooting mechanics are flawless. The graphics for its age are again, amazing. The game excels at putting you in Johns shoes and making you feel like you are really there, in 1911. Even for a game that is ten years old, I found myself playing it more than every new game I have on my console. Rockstar games made a masterpiece, and I got it for ten dollars yet it beats games I've spent 100 dollars on. Strongly recommended for everyone. Warning you might cry.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Going back and playing Red Dead Redemption after its prequel game shows a lot of the places where it tends to fall back. The gameplay feels a lot more tight and stilted, and while the pace is a lot faster than RDR2, the first act or so isn't as incredible as I remember. However, this game still remains an absolute classic to play. The story is amazing and the characters are fully realized and developed. The open world truly feels like the "Wild" West unlike RDR2, and the more gritty tone lends itself to its depressing conclusion. This game is on par with its prequel and both games deserve to be recognized as some of the best in the industry. Even on its own, the original Red Dead Redemption remains an alltimer in Rockstar's catalogue.… Expand
