Jun 23, 2014A ton of content, addictive gameplay and great visuals make up for the lack of online modes.
-
Jun 25, 2014One Piece: Unlimited World Red is a great game for fans of Eiichiro Oda's work. Nice visuals, great adventures and two playable modes for hours of fun. The addition of Colisseum Mode is one of its best assets.
-
Aug 26, 2014With a memorable cast and a great sense of style, One Piece: Ultimate World Red manages to defy the odds and show us that anime games can be a lot of fun. This action-packed brawler rewards fans with a brand new story, exciting gameplay and all kinds of over-the-top moments. Best of all, this is the type of game anybody can enjoy, even those of us who have never seen a single episode of the anime.
-
Jul 24, 2014Of course, I would have to recommend this game to the One Piece fans. It is possibly the best One Piece game out there, and most certainly the best one I have played.
-
Jul 21, 2014For what it is, One Piece: Unlimited World Red is a solid game.
-
Jun 27, 2014One Piece learns from previous mistakes and offers a fun and balanced experience, ideal for those looking for a “light” musou.
-
Jun 26, 2014Leaving the Musou style for an Action-RPG style mixed with Hack 'n Slash, Luffy and the whole gang return in a game with a varied gameplay and different mechanics where the sum of its all parts bring a nice experience, but far from the bests of their respective genres. With great elements like the Coliseum Mode, Unlimited World R is about all for the fans, the ones and only that will appreciate all the reference of the story, characters, relations and places in its whole extension.
-
Jun 23, 2014It’s all silly and over the top, full of daft enemies and exaggerated characters, and it positively screams “I am a game! Have fun with me!” Sometimes, though, that’s exactly what you want.
-
Jul 19, 2014One Piece-fans will love this game as it is funny, works flawless and has an interesting co-op mode. People who are not as familiar with it, will probably frown upon all the crazy characters, but please don't let that scare you away, cause this game is fun.
-
Game World Navigator MagazineAug 21, 2014Numerous combo chains are simply useless – dummy-enemies could be scattered effortlessly. If you are really tired from crowd pummeling you can combine efforts with two other characters to depopulate surrounding area quickly. Bosses are the only worthy opponents, especially those who greatly exceed Luffy in size. [September 2014, p. 66]
-
Jul 23, 2014Red has its flaws. The story doesn’t really impress, the combat can be tricky, the locations could’ve been much more interesting, and you can’t fight against a friend. It’s also not the most technically accomplished title you’ll ever play. At the same time, what it offers is a solid fun factor, which you can enjoy even if you’re not a fan of the series.
-
Jul 23, 2014One more piece in the One Piece puzzle. A good action-adventure game with simple mechanics inherited from its 3DS origins, which are enjoyable on home consoles too. Don’t expect a particularly deep or challenging gameplay, though.
-
Jul 16, 2014One Piece fans will appreciate it, but newbies might want to give it a rent before jumping at it.
-
Jul 15, 2014One Piece Unlimited World Red offers great combat, even if the battles occur in dull places.
-
Jul 15, 2014It's simple, a bit too easy and - as far as the story goes - rather confusing. It is however also quite unique, varied and at times very amusing. Consider the pros and cons and make your choice.
-
Jul 7, 2014Fans should know that they won't have to scour the seven seas to find the treasures that One Piece: Unlimited World Red has buried beneath its somewhat rough exterior.
-
Jul 6, 2014One Piece Unlimited World Red offers simple but refined brawler play, and boasts attractive anime-styled scenery throughout, though it still eventually runs out of tricks to conceal the fact that it’s a repetitive beat-em-up.
-
Jun 28, 2014Perhaps a more incisive story and a few more hours of gameplay could've really made a difference, making this title one of the best games based on the universe of One Piece. Not so, but at the same time we believe that the series is now on the right track.
-
Jun 27, 2014It's something different from the usual Musou, and that's good. Yet, it lacks depth in gameplay, and it's something only true fans of the saga will be able to enjoy.
-
Jun 23, 2014One Piece: Unlimited World Red is a very nice, rich and compelling adventure for all fans of the series.
-
Jun 23, 2014One Piece Unlimited World Red is a simple porting of a Nintendo 3DS game developed for more powerful consoles such as PS3, Wii U and PlayStation Vita. Despite the blurry graphics, the game is still pretty solid, with interesting features and great original characters. If you’re looking for a good adventure you can buy this game, but if from a One Piece game you are asking for good graphics ad shiny action, just stick with Pirate Warriors 2.
-
Jul 29, 2014An awesome looking and entertaining game that utilizes an easy and simple combat system. The inclusion of local co-op is definitely a plus while the absence of online multiplayer is a letdown.
-
Jul 24, 2014If you want to become the Pirate King, than One Piece Unlimited World Red is your game but if you don't know what "anime" is, than you should stay away from it.
-
Jul 4, 2014One Piece fans might take away more enjoyment from an otherwise average adventure.
-
Jul 24, 2014Overall, I enjoyed what I played of One Piece: Unlimited World Red, certainly more than any One Piece title I’ve played prior to this. It’s not a top-tier action title, but it throws enough content at the player to keep you busy, and does so in a way that feels fun and engaging.
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaAug 25, 2014Solid and respectable enough of the source material to be a fan-pleaser. Feels like button-bashy busywork to anybody else. [September 2014, p81]
-
Jul 21, 2014A good yet unspectacular game. There is a lot of content here between the story and coliseum mode, with a good 30+ hours of things to keep you busy. Yet, the content isn’t overly impressive and things like bug catching, fishing, and farming just feel forced and not fully thought out.
-
Jul 7, 2014One Piece deserves much better than this opportunist and disappointing multi-platform port of a title released last year in Japan on 3DS.
