One side-story diversion, one combat arena mode, some conversations and small events. The story is just entertainment and doesn't aim for expanding the main plot. The tone is easygoing and tongue-in-cheek. Overall, more of the same, at the same price as a full PSN game on sale.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Citadel is a very good DLC but Bioware should have taken a piece of humble pie and made this a post ending DLC. From the beginning, It basically sets itself out to be one last hoorah with your squad-mates and its basically just that. The idea of the clone trying to take over Shepard's life was pretty good for the most part and you get alot of good clean fanservice fun from the Mass Effect 2 squadmates who were ignored as "cameos" throughout the main game. The party idea was a tad bit out of left field, the whole galaxy is being destroyed by Reapers and its only only hope is on the citadel throwing a house party while all that is happening? I get that its fun and you're trying to make up for the endings but come on. If anything, after you've experienced this DLC you'll only wish the endings were better in and of themselves. Another thing I didn't like was how my main LI (Ashley) was basically given no real screen time or got any special interactions with my Shepard before the main mission on Earth even though Kaidan(the other virmire survivor) got that, same with Wrex and Garrus. I also didn't like how Legion was ignored or never got a proper send off as neither did Mordin. Expand

The latest and greatest DLC for Mass Effect 3. BioWare clearly put a lot of love and care into this small bit of fan service. It takes itself less serious than the main game and that is what makes it so special. BioWare couldn't have said goodbye in a better way. [April 2013, p.89]

For hearkening back to fond series memories, and for its heartfelt goodbye to characters we love, Citadel is Mass Effect 3's best single-player DLC and a worthy send-off to Shepard's crew.

If you're not up for about four hours of BioWare cutting loose on everything from Shepard's "I should go" to Wrex's post-genophage sex life, avoid it.
