Little Big Planet Karting is a game with a concept we're tired of seeing. Why make a car version of everything?

LittleBigPlanet Karting lives in the shadow of Modnation Racers and fails to establish itself properly.

I wasn’t sure what to think of a LittleBigPlanet kart racer at first, but it can actually be pretty fun. For the better or worse, it was able to distinguish its self well enough.

Not much to say honestly, it's a racing game mixed with your usual LBP shenanigans. It's fun, and the community-created levels basically save the game. The creation tools are also quite extensive.

The fact that this game has a level editor and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doesn't is kinda sad.

Es divertido aunque las mecánicas son super simples, aún así la puedes pasar muy bien con este juego de karts y con el modo de crear niveles propios las posibilidades de mapas son infinitas

A fantastic kart racer based on the LittleBigPlanet Franchise, with robust level creation tools and a single-player story to play, with tons of collectables to collect. I'd rate it higher before the servers went down, however servers have been pulled due to low player count.

LittleBigPlanet Karting was a great joy to play.

When starting the game I expected a Mario Kart like racing game with an additional map creator. But I got way more than that.

But lets start with the basics. In LittleBigPlanet Karting you drive a car through racetracks competing against other drivers. There are different items available which you can use, there are stage gimmicks and there's a lot of drifting.
With that out of the way lets dive into the story mode.
When starting the story mode you are greeted by a level select screen just like in the other LittleBigPlanet games.
Once you complete a Level you unlock the next one.
There are 4 different level types:
    - Normal Races
    - Time trials on a huge linear track
    - Battles against other drivers. The one with the most kills wins
    - Boss battles
Additionally you unlock many different minigames.
The story mode is truly amazing and fun. The only downside is it's length of about 4 hours.

But worry not, because there's more. Outside of the story you can build your own race tracks and play race tracks from players all over the world.
Of course there's also Online and Local Co-Op.

You'll probably spend most of the time playing levels other people created.

To finish it of I have two things left to say:
    1. Outside of one world in the story, the music is truly amazing.
    2. This is one of the best controlling racing games I've ever tried.

Verdict: If you're looking for a kart racer with lots of content and a decent single player campaign you can't go wrong here.

    Rating:
Gameplay: 4/5 - Feels absolutely amazing. Only downside was the AI of some enemy drivers.
Level Design: 4/5 - Very creative and fun
Soundtrack: 3/5 - Very good for a racing game
Story: 3/5 - Not very interesting, but enough to keep you playing
    Graphics: 3/5 - Looks good
Length: 5/5 - Nice story mode and lots of additional content, just about perfect for a kart racer
Replay Value: 5/5 - With the Maps from other players there's always a reason to come back
    Enjoyment: 4/5 - Loved it

This really is a fun game, it's just very complicated to make levels. It's cool how it's basically ModNation Racers with an LBP skin and with extra stuff, it just wasn't done as well. Making a track is simple enough, but making a battle arena was pretty hard. This is a good game, I just wish it was better.

O jogo segue a receita do conceito padrão estabelecido por Mario Kart...sem inovação...em compensação sem grandes pontos fracos...enfim um jogo para se divertir de forma casual.

LittleBigPlanet Karting is not a bad title, far from it, but doesn't come recommended as there are far better kart racers both on the PS3 and on the market as a whole to choose from. MarioKart 64 if the tracks were really confusing and squished together, and if everything was a blue turtle shell. There is absolutely no balance to this game and ultimately it is a poor and un-fun kart racer.

This is the kind of game you need a friend to play with. If youre playing on your own it can be quite boring and stale, which is probably why it hasnt got such good reviews... but if you've got a friend it can be REALLY fun. Online is okay although I experienced a bit of dropout but I'd definitely recommend this as a party game or something to play with a friend.

If you can get this for free in Playstation Plus, sure, give it a whirl with a friend. But don't pay for it, since it's not as good as either of the actual LBP games, and it's a fairly dull karting game in its own right.

Seamed to have a lot of potential, however it turned out to be worse than Modnation Racers. it got boring rather quickly. Maybe if I didn't have a backlog of games to play i would have given it more of a chance but I doubt it would have changed my mind.

There are additional speed boosters while racing but the karts themselves don’t feel as great as they should. All in all it’s a great karting game on Sony’s platform, and the creation goes beyond imagination. Some of the user content is at its best with creative new ideas (like a time traveling level), and classic levels found in Mario Kart. The game’s story is short but at a perfect length for a Karting game, and it does a great job mixing things up (race, battle arena, boss fight, etc.). This game is great but it still does have its flaws. 8.

Story: Very simple, but uninteresting. 5.

Replay Value: There’s definitely a lot to do in this game, single player, multiplayer, co-op, battle challenges, it’s definitely a purchase if you know that’s the experience you want, a karting game. 10.

This game has the same problem as littlebigplanet: gameplay. The cars feel way too light so you never have the feeling you're really driving, there's no sense off speed or weight of any kind. Controlling the carts is too easy so the fun must come from the weapons. But the weapons are not fun like in games as Mario kart or Crash team racing and they're not satisfying to use either.

So what's the use off all those customizing tools and downloadable user levels if the gameplay is this boring?

As always the insane amount user created content is a heck of a lot of fun to play with and can give you some great ideas for creations of your own. It's a great game but it does have some issues.

Long and frequent load times, an overly talkative narrator, and a lackluster soundtrack do bring the experience down a little. The biggest flaw the game has though is the now dead online multiplayer. I couldn't find a match online where most of the racers weren't bots. Still if you can get your friends together multiplayer can still be a blast. Like I said before these issues do bring down the experience, but they don't ruin it.

If you're looking for a charming kart racer that lets your imagination soar. You can spend countless hours with the creation tools and not even touch the story mode or multiplayer. Part of what makes this game so enjoyable is the charm of the LittleBigPlanet series. One of the most impressive parts of the game is that it doesn't feel like a spin-off from the series, but rather a full-fledged entry in the LBP series.

I think that this game is great! A lot of games now are competitive but this game brings you back to the noncompetitive, sure its challenging but it almost never makes you rage. The level building system is great! Tutorials are spot on. It can be hard to make a level but that just shows how much of YOU, you put in the level.

This game is such a disappointment, and the online play so broken it's not even funny.

The story levels themselves are good, but it's irritating when you have to go back to the pod to select each new level instead of being able to 'continue'. The story levels themselves are good, but it's irritating when you have to go back to the pod to select each new level instead of being able to 'continue'. United Front either removed or didn't add an in game stats tracker (Pin Progress in other LBPs) so you have no idea how many wins/levels/create time/etc you've accumulated. I also thing this lack of counter is why so many of the online trophies (25 levels, 25 wins etc) are glitched.

The online play is ridiculously broken and the servers are unstable as all hell. I can't even host with friends because the connection is lost as we are going into a game EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. There are numerous disconnections, errors and freezes (both game only where you can quit from XMB and complete system freeze which requires restart). There's also numerous glitches in the placing system, whereby the system will tell you that you finished in this place but you're actually in a different one, and in vs games I often finish 42st. I've also experienced glitches in the notification system (such and such has left the playgroup every time we go into a game) and people driving in the floor or walls or on top of structures.

It's also a pain to play online because, like story mode, after every time you finish a level, it takes you all the way back to the pod and you have to go back into wherever you were queue, highest rated levels etc. Practice free roam at the beginning of every community level that you play online is also insanely frustrating and irritating.

They've also taken a lot of fun out of the game in that you can't move around your own or anyone else's pods, and you can't place stickers or decorations in your friends pods on on their person.

From the outside this LOOKS like a LittleBigPlanet game, but it doesn't play like one. United Front took a great series and warped and mutilated it to the point that it barely resembles what we've all come to love and expect from LittleBigPlanet.

This is a pretty awful game, and as soon as I've finished the trophy progress (which may never happen because of how glitched the whole thing is) I'm getting rid of it.

And the power ups and gameplay, we know there's quite a lot of problems there already. And actually, I didn't like the create mode, I know no one will agree with me on that but I just didn't. I didn't like half the community levels, they're all the same simply because, the create mode is irritating to any new players and slow, so very very slow. I mean, I was surprised to see so many people like the create mode in these reviews because to me it was UNBEARABLE.It actually reminded me a lot of the PSP create mode.Except.. the controls were jumbled and confusing and I... just didn't like the game.Like all reviews though, this is just one opinion, and i'm sticking with it, just like I'm sticking with LBP2/LBP vita's 2 directional levels. LittleBigPlanet Karting includes a toolset which players can use to build visually and mechanically imaginative creations; which I suppose is the most important thing to nail when creating a LittleBigPlanet game. United Front has done that swimmingly.
