I was so excited for Little Big Planet 2 that I pre-ordered the collector's edition. Which by the way was worth the extra 20 bucks. With that being said I was a little dissapointed in the campaign. The cut scenes and storyline seem like an afterthought by media molecule. The end boss is also uninspired and looks like something a fifth grader would've made. The end boss is also uninspired and looks like something a fifth grader would've made. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the game but I guarantee most users could create a better villian. I'm sure there will be plenty of user created levels soon enough that will blow the main campaign away. On the plus side, there are 10x's the amount of creation tools in LBP2 than it's predacessor. For talented creators the possibilities are endless. While some tools are more streamlined, there still aren't enough hand holding tutorials for more technologically challenged users like myself. Little Big Planet 2 would be hard to review right out of the gate, given the fact that it's replay value rests on the shoulders of the user created content. But since I've seen thousands of jawdropping levels that were created by users with the limited tool set from L.B.P.1 I can safely assume that I along with millions of other sackboys and girls will be playing this game until we see Little Big Planet 3. Great game, not any huge advancements over the first, but what they've added is a lot of fun. I myself have never spent much time on the level maker, but some of the additional levels produced by others are just amazing. This is one truly unique games that really stands out on PS3, nothing else like it out there.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Little Big Planet it's by far the most brilliant plataformer in this gen. And Little Big Planet 2 only adds to the experience. Right from the start you have access to ALL LBP1 Levels, and that's 3 million +. You can buy it blindly - there's no way you'll lose your money. It's worthy any cent. Also, the Single-player campaign will give you some 4~5 hours of fun - or maybe more - but it's in the multiplayer that this game shines, allowing you to build and play other levels. And there's some very creative levels out there - one that I recommend is the Frozen Flame, am Action RPG made with LBP engine. Amazing!

Really, buy it. You'll not get disappointed.

Still manages to retain the excellence of the first game, adding a few new features, new levels which make this one of the best on the platform and of all time. It's definitely on my shortlist for game of the year 2011.

The original LittleBigPlanet was of the best PlayStation 3 games that I've ever played; it's sequel does not disappoint. I really enjoyed the levels in this one and enhanced creativity. Everything about it, from the consistent updates with fixes for common issues to the spectacular level community, makes this game one I'd recommend to any first-time PS3 gamer.

It was still fun, but when people thought of Mario Bros, they would think about the first one. LBP 2 is mostly a huge DLC of LBP 1. The graphics are slightly improved, but to be honest I think they simply added more contrast and lighting and that's it. I believe this game is still revolutionary even though it is the second opus. The improved logic makes it possible to create almost anything you want. The Sackboys are the second best addition. It is sad, however, that you can't have a pet Sackboy to bring through the various levels to keep you company while other players aren't there with you. The music is pretty much just like LBP 1 - original, refreshing, diversified. This time you can actually compose your own songs as well, and it's a lot less tedious than it's predecessor. This game is a must buy for anyone who has some creative instincts. Do not buy it if you do not have internet access. This game will be easily boring if you play story mode only. You must try to get a touch of the community, then you will realize this game has an infinite content. Lag is still an issue. You can play with people in your continent just fine, but player with people overseas is very difficult. If they want this franchise to become very famous ( right now it is only a little famous ), they will have to add a lot of content for LBP3 or else the fan base will begin to diminish. The fun thing with this game is that it is constantly positive, and it seems to have a positive effect on those who play it. This game is relaxing, I've never met someone raging while playing this game. You will spend most of your time trying to create something you might never finish, but it doesn't matter. Playing this game is pretty much like drawing or painting. it removes your daily frustrations and makes you feel good about yourself. Anybody can play this game and have fun. I play FPS games and I still love LBP2. Expand

This seriously enhances the level editor from the first game with improvements on already existing tools, and many new ones added in. You can create whole games rather than just whole levels. Unfortunately, playing online with more than one player gets very laggy and a lot of the online tracking doesn't work.

The fun of the game is creating your own levels( which makes use of ones brain which is less and less evedent in games nowadays ) and seeing what other people can create with their imaginations. The game faults are the limitations that limit the creator in sense of size that a creator wants to create his or her game ( The gauge overheats very easily and a very annoying thing i often see is "the shape is getting too complicated aswell as you cannot put any more stickers" which somewhat puts me off quite alot make me want to stop playing the game, also the fact that i must buy costume dlc really pisses me of( I HATE DLC) but besides that the game is very fun and good value for money as long as you dont lack imagination, are lazy or are lazy to think. 7.5/10. While this game does have it's frustrating parts that made me replay it over and over again, most of the game is not a full on side scrolling shooter, but a puzzle combat based game. When I beat the last guy, I cheered through the roof knowing I defeated a frustrating round with two checkpoints. The level making setting allows for some very interesting game play and creative styles. Like the original, but more refined. Adds more customization, better game-play and co-operative play, however the online is still as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Great game to play with a girlfriend who doesn't know how to play games. Fun platforming and alot of customization options with great variety. Once you've beaten the story mode there's millions of user created content to choose from.

Little Big Planet 2 is almost as great as the first but not as challenging so i give it an 8 but it's still really fun and lots of customization, now there's actual voice actors besides the narrator so it's a bit more funny, and really worth buying if you loved the previous one. You don't need to play the first to play this one but their both great games.

This game took what the first game had, and added a whole lot more to it. New mechanics, new ways to make levels and all that stuff along with the older stuff.

The main plot is that an evil machine named as the Negativitron has taken over Craftsworld and is destroying it piece by piece. The main protagonist is Sack Boy, and his duty is to team up with some extremely random characters. The plot is often funny and definitely does not take itself seriously, but despite this i still found myself slightly affected by the message at the end. The main game took me around 4 hours to complete, which is short but not when measured against the vast amounts of gameplay one can derive from the online segments

    Multiplayer

Where Little Big Planet 2 stands out if the ability to create and share your own levels and games over Playstation Network. Without this feature, the game would simply be a cute, but forgettable experience. Creating games is relatively difficult but the game does a good job of attempting to inform you on the basics through a vast amount of tutorials. Just by searching the "Cool Levels" section of the online space I was able to experience remakes of "Dead Space 2", "Fallout: New Vegas" and " Assassins Creed: Brotherhood" which were extremely detailed and fun. As well as some original titles. To conclude, Little Big Planet is an exiting and charming adventure that is definitely worth the ride if you enjoy creating and sharing your own games. If, however you are only interested in the platforming aspects of the story mode, I advise that you should give the game a rent, as the story is most definitely not worth £39.99 alone.

    Overall: 7.5 (Good)

A good 4-Player-Coop, but still disappointing controls. The leveldesign is beautiful, the ideas well integrated, but the game is overall a little big short, if you don't want to find everything hidden.

The level editor is impressive, but I think, I'm not talendet enough to create really good levels.

It's an alright game except when trying to download games people made from PSN, it takes forever then you find out the level is bad and you just wasted a long time downloading that map. The story is good, the costumes are good, and the level design is good. I liked it for the most part.

Game a little bit improved than the first one, some new level design, new mechanics, little more plot, everything else is the same. Character moving is kind of too smooth, slow, after some time it's become annoying, for me.

I have enjoyed this game, and i liked it, but i think there are some boring levels on Littlebigplanet 2. The good part are the community levels, and you can customize own levels.

I didn't like this as much as the first one. Something was just off with this game. The feel wasn't the same. Maybe because they altered the gameplay and created all kinds of new gadgets. 1. MMs Updates: Seriously MM?! OMG! The latest update for LBP2, you guys let in a new, ultra fu**tastic glitch in your OWN game. You LBP2 invisible Hologram/ Sticker Panel+ Logic lovers know what I'm talking about. :3 No matter how many times you glue the damn Holographic/ Sticker Panel object together and then Copy it to the Goodies Bag, before you send it out and move it, 1-2 parts fu**ing detach from the rest of the damn object and when you send it out, the detached part is somehow STILL connected to the damn object! D:(
    Causes:
    1) Usually if you place a Microchip onto the invisible object and put a lot of logic into the microchip. -_-
    2) To many Holograms to make one weapon you dream of creating.

    2. Game freezes WAAAAAY to often. ):(
    Causes:
    1) Slice & Dice
    2) Joining someone when they launch into a level...
    3) Multiplying objects...
    4) Failing to connect to players (another major flaw)
    5) Mid. game freezes...
    6) Sending out objects...
    7) Taking photos...
    8) Saving objects...
    9) Join in-sessions...
    10) Loading levels...
    AND MORE!

    3. The Server: C'mon MM why do you have to give us a sh***y server that we can BARELY connect to?!
    Wth just wth man? -_-

And that's all the flaws I find. Everything else is fantastic.
