Nov 15, 2012Similar to past LEGO games, but the Lords trilogy is so massive that this game called for one of the more involved open worlds I've ever seen in the LEGO series. The dialogue is from the films, which is excellent. So many characters, and so much diversity. Easily one of the best LEGO games in my opinion!

Dec 7, 2012The PS3 version is riddled with glitches and requires constant backtracking. This makes story mode an annoying slog, as your progress is constantly lost. The graphics are pretty, but the levels are on the small side, and skip a lot of the cool stuff from the movies. Lego LOTR is okay, but definitely not up with the best.

Dec 30, 2012An excelent game with very good graphics. The story is very similar to the movie and the stages are very good builded. A positive point is the lot of hours of the game to need to do 100%.

Dec 28, 2012I didn't expect much from a LEGO video game, but when I started playing it and saw the epic Middle-Earth map, I was amazed. The best thing in this game is, that it has popular LOTR memes in it. I recommend this game to every LOTRT fan.

Jan 8, 2015Lego Lord of the Ring’s superb co-op play and large open world are fantastic, but leaves players begging for a better story and more useful currency.
Positives: Fantastic open world, engaging story mode, wide variety of characters, co-op play, funny cutscenes
Negatives: Buggy missions, Confusing missions, repetitive gameplay, poor graphics -
Aug 8, 2014Definitely my favorite LEGO game. Being the huge LotR fan I am, this is an obvious choice for me. The immense overworld gave the game an astonishing climate of Lord of the Rings. Plus a map, really helpful when exploring.

Jan 4, 2015Fantastic! I love the more modern free roam around the entirity of Middle Earth! Truly Outstanding Graphics for a Lego game, and very fun. I completed it 100% and enjoyed it thoroughly.

May 28, 2018LEGO Lord of the Rings is a fantastic game. Exploring Middle Earth in a unique open world experience as each of the rich characters was extremely satisfying.

Apr 6, 2017one of the top 5 best lego games. Lego lord of the rings has a huge open world for you to explore with a lot of items and caracters you can play. It also has side quest`s you can do by giving people Items so you can get other items back. I think this is a must own for lord of the rings fans an dlego fans in general.

Jul 15, 2019The visuals are terrific, I loved realistic the world looked and how it looked exactly like the movies. The story levels are fantastic, they are almost exactly like the movies. I loved the funny parts that they put in the levels. The characters were spot on. This is my 3rd favorite Lego video game and one of my top 10 favorite video games of all time.

Mar 6, 2013In addition to the excellent musical score from Jackson’s trilogy playing while you smash stone as Gimli or conjure blocks as Gandalf, LEGO LOTR is the first of the LEGO games to use the voices and acting from the films.
-
Feb 4, 2013LEGO Lord of the Rings is easily one of my favorite LEGO games. I’m not sure if it’s just the source material or the fact that the game is actually really fun and evolves the LEGO franchise in significant ways, but this is definitely worth playing for any fan of the previous LEGO games or Lord of the Rings films.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJan 28, 2013Though the formula hasn't exactly been built from the green ground piece up, Telltale has gone above and beyond our expectations. Take, for example, the fact that Middle-earth is one gigantic, seamless hub world that can be be trodden across (or fast traveled through) from one end to the other. [January 2013, p64]
