Aug 13, 2023Such a fun and ambitious game. Its not perfect by any. means and honestly the length really drags on for me. But the immersiveness really brings out the best in this title.

Dec 20, 2022Pretty interesting game with good acting and plot. Gameplay was fairly good overall and story kept me engaged. Graphics are a bit poor, but the facial animations, voice acting, and story make up for it.
-
Oct 18, 2022I honestly didn't expect myself to love this game so much. It usually isn't my cup of tea, neither the setting nor the gameplay. But this one just played out so well.
-
Sep 2, 2022Definitely a unique game but not for everyone. Recommended for people who like detective stories and dialogue.
-
Jun 27, 2022L.A. Noire introduces interesting technology. However, the game is boggled down by an empty open-world and simple gameplay mechanics.

Mar 28, 2022The best detective game to ever grace this planet. Sherlock Holmes ain't got nothing on Cole Phelps!
-
May 26, 2021Played it in 2016 when it wasn't even an idea for the game to be remastered for PS4...
It's a game for those who like to think, solve riddles and enjoy the '40s -

Dec 2, 2020For me L.A Noire is an underrated game. It has fantastic story and presentation. Makes you feel like a real detective. AFAIK they used motion capture tech for the face expressions and it look nice. Atmosphere is also nice. Cars, musics, clothes, hats; everything suit to the world well. Must play if you love the Noir theme. Hard to find an equivalent.
-
Nov 11, 2020If you are addicted to crime movies this game will be pure entertainment for you. If you are not, L.A. NOIRE it's still a high quality product from Rockstar and worth to be played. Masterpiece.

May 24, 2020I very much enjoyed my time playing L.A. Noire. Some of the interrogation missions were a good challenge to figure out if the suspect is innocent or not.
-
Dec 6, 2019Such an Awful game, developed by Rockstar, this says it all, horrible design choices, horrible programming, no localization for important languages like German, and the game looks like it was made for ps2.
-

Feb 11, 2019I expected so much more from this. There isn't all that much freedom to work in, and it gets repetitive quick.

May 15, 2018Fantastic voice acting and facial animations keep the game from being extremely boring. The stories are repetitive and the ending is rushed and poorly constructed.

Feb 7, 2018Masterpiece. Great graphics, atmosphere, sound, gameplay. Very engaging greatly written storyline. The atmosphere of this time period is so well shown in this game. I really feel so immersed in it. The ending gave a lot to think. Even after replaying a case for the 3rd time it still feels like there's something new. Audio and video only help the story.

Nov 12, 2017Amazing Game. Innovative and everything you could ask for. The gameplay mechanics present something which has never been done. Truely amazing what the developed did. We need a sequel!

Dec 4, 2016Enjoyed this game, very intuitive and it brings in some new gameplay mechanics that I have not seen before. The game is kinda like GTA, but you act as an detective. Graphics are great story is great. Gameplay itself can be tedious, but will grow on you after a few hours.

Oct 22, 2016I paid $1.50 for this game and I think that was a ripoff. The story is very boring and switches constantly between two cops working on cases and Marine Corps flashbacks with cursing every other word. During the first 10 minutes of the game I glitched through a wall and had to reset the game. While for the most part the game is playable it is not enjoyable at all.

Jan 11, 2016Graphics: 8.5 Sound: 9.5 Gameplay: 8.8 Fun/Story: 9.0
A soulful, well made, kindness and melancholic game. Amazing noir spirit of Los Angeles and a good storytelling (despite some dispersive feeling because of being an open world game). Some may not like its pace, with some repetitiveness structure but i think that was one of the game objectives. -
Aug 15, 2015Great game. Full of some brilliant missions and I love how old fashioned it is! It mainly goes to show how the power of knowledge is what gets you through life.

Jun 14, 2014A investigation game by Rockstar and team Bondi.
Pros:
- Great facial animations, top class
- Nice graphics, items that are used are detailed very well.
- lengthy
cons:
- Boring, no real story
- bad draw distance
- bad driving
- Not an open world game, no proper side missions, or safehouse. no freedom.
- Too much hand holding -
Jun 7, 2014Excellent detective story in retro LA. Captivating noir atmosphere, LA environments, precise detective work ala Columbo, topnotch story, overall feeling underlined by nice jazz music, just perfect. Some of the game mechanics might feel a bit clunky at times, but L.A. Noire is still one of the best, if not the best noir captured in a videogame. 9/10

Apr 28, 2014One of the best games I played..And I played a LOT...A can't really understand people writing 2's and 3's..Highly recommended if you like this kinda (police,crime,investigation,LA,1940's) things. Must-have.
-
Mar 18, 2014LA Noire, is set in a gloriously convincing depiction of Los Angeles in 1947. You are a LAPD detective, question suspects and witnesses, solving cases. You have to analyze facial responses and bodily twitches, just like in real life. Overall it is an outstanding game, very fun, well worth the money and amazing camera work

Jan 16, 2014A unique game. Looks pretty nice. The repetitive nature of the crime solving really gets old however. I'd say this is a good game to rent for a week or two.

Sep 28, 2013"L.A. Noire" solo puede decir que Rockstar lo volvió a hacer: otra entrega de la prestigiosa compañía de videojuegos creó un "Grand Theft Auto" en los años 40' y déjenme decirles que funciona. Es un juego fuerte y decidido que te toma como rehén hasta que termina el juego y créeme que no te soltará.
Sabio juego hecho para cambiar la temática "Grand Theft Auto". -
Sep 22, 2013This game's good but not perfect like other games such as Battlefield 3 and others. Its like detective chasing criminals, investigating and solving cases and etc. It has a nice storyline. I love those cutscenes. The graphics are great for sure. Anyway, good work done by Rockstar Games!!!
-
Aug 28, 2013It can start to feel repetitive as you get to the end, but the story telling and presentation are amazing. I'm not a big fan of Rockstar games usually but I loved this one.

Apr 4, 2013A highly overrated game in my opinion.....I don' think it even needed to be in an open world....It is highly linear, highly repeitive and has almost no replay value........the only plus point to the game are the wonderful facial animations of the characers......As for the free roam aspect it has been completely wasted as there is little you can do in the city.....

Mar 3, 2013Why this game is a mess:
Need a loggin to start and enter in rockstar social club... another useless iscription.
No windowed mode.
Only auto save data... why?
Never ending conversation that you cannot skip. -
Jan 31, 2013This is gaming at its finest.
Unless you're some kind of 13 year old with low attention span then this kind of game wont pull you off as a gamer. When i first started the game i felt like i was actually in the 40's, the atmosphere is spot on and it wont fall of at any time during the game.
Sure it's not REALLY open world but it doesn't need to be. -

Jan 8, 2013L.A Noire is a excellent game and is a great detective story and much for the normal detective! This has lots of quirky scenes and ha a great script which led to the Mafia killings. Rockstar have made their 2nd best game (Grand Theft Auto IV is the first) And even the great questions ( Like "Why would you be behind this Miffy?") and the perfect game is the line for this game.
-
Dec 31, 2012Amazing, amazing game. In my opinion it's better than GTA IV AND Red Dead Redemption. Probably the best story arc Rockstar has ever done. This game could've been a disaster, but it's innovation has made it my favorite Rockstar game since San Andreas. Cole was a great great protagonist.
-
Nov 23, 2012Interesting but very redundant gameplay, repeating over and over every case. Breathtaking graphics and an oh-so boring stroyline. That's it, in a nutshell.

Jul 23, 2012Rockstar has cornered the market on really fun games with stories and dialogue that have virtually no basis in reality. In a welcome departure from their standard fare however, LA Noire
-
Jul 5, 2012i love this game this one game i sat down thru and and played it the game contains swearing nudity and action and interrogating suspect and witness.
Which was cool and engineering real life actors in game show how they lie or tell you the truth really outstanding.
Rockstar brought out another hit title if they ever make sequel to this game i hope they make the magic again -

May 17, 2012L.A Noire is a fun game. It is really addictive, and It's with some well done missions. It is not only just for killing people, It is, overall, a detective game. You need to use your brain for this game. Well, from the graphics, I wasn't so impressed, but from the outstanding gameplay, engaging missions, superb sound and a lot of memorable characters, I give a 9. (9.4- complete rating)

Mar 25, 2012The setting of the game is beautifully done. And that's just all I can say if I want to praise this game. The oblem with it is simple. This game is BORING. VERY BORING. Even when the setting is so well done and the premise of a 50s mistery movie is so appealing, this game is actually a morphine shot.

Pelit (Finland)Oct 19, 2011At first L.A. Noire seems a bit too easy, then it gets interesting and reading people's reactions makes for some of the best gaming this year. The atmosphere is spot on and the late 40's LA really feels like an authentic, living place. [June 2011]
-
Aug 16, 2011Team Bondi created a technical masterpiece with L.A. Noire. The problem is that they didn't create an artistic or even entertaining masterpiece.
-
Jul 26, 2011Look past the glitz of technical achievements, richly designed sets, ostensibly interactive environments, and you will see the real L.A. Noire – a vapid adventure with a hole-ridden plot, a boring unsympathetic hero, and rough stitches in places where content should be.
