Play UKIf only it wasn't so highly priced. [Issue#194, p.103]
-
Kick-Ass is a poor beat-'em-up that feels rushed at every turn.
-
Shallow and repetitive gameplay, dull visuals, and overused poor-quality film assets put this game in the failed-superhero category.
-
Dec 27, 2010Kick-Ass has adequate character models and the prerequisite references to the source material, but bears none of the enthusiasm of its namesake. Just when you think that movie-based games are finally making some headway, a game like Kick-Ass comes along to obliterate that notion and to show you how low some people will sink to make a buck.
-
The game never really takes off, relying on very few tricks to support itself from beginning to end.
-
Compared to the quality of other PSN titles, Kick-Ass does nothing to stand out. An array of unforgivable technical issues mar what is already a needlessly boring and repetitious beat'em-up.
-
The only asses that need kicking in this game are those of the developer responsible for such rubbish.
-
Kick-Ass could be a guilty pleasure for everyone if it weren't for the frustrating and repetitive gameplay, weak incentives provided for replay-value, and of course the fifteen-dollar price point.
-
Overall there is nothing extraordinary about Kick-Ass: The Movie - The Game. Audio wasn't anything noteworthy, graphics are borderline mediocre, the game controls like a puppet, and the gameplay in general is about as smooth as fine-grit sandpaper.
