The game is rather fun but the one thing that made it not as fun is that the game is hardly anything like the movie, but over all the game is real fun.

Pretty good game. The Na'vi story is lacking unless you either play the human side first or see the movie. The level-up aspect is pretty nice, but several high-tier items are not that great, especially in the armor category. The conquest idea is great and enjoyable and the graphics are amazing. Definitely a good game, but try before you buy. It may not be worth the price to everyone.

or 8.5/9. this game is very under rated and is probibly the best movie game i have ever played! the first 40 mins is slow and boring after this you are given a choice. navi or human rda. either campaign i fun, challenging and rewarding. the critics are are way too harsh on the navi campaign the gameplay is still solid and requires more brains than the rda campaign. overall a great and fun or 8.5/9. this game is very under rated and is probibly the best movie game i have ever played! the first 40 mins is slow and boring after this you are given a choice. navi or human rda. either campaign i fun, challenging and rewarding. the critics are are way too harsh on the navi campaign the gameplay is still solid and requires more brains than the rda campaign. overall a great and fun experience, you wont regret this esspecially as i found it for £25 Expand

Playing Avatar in 3D-mode with a 3D-TV is a great experience! I really got sucked into the game and it is the first 3D game, where the 3D-effect can be set to "too strong". Leaving it to "middle" is allready stronger than most 3D-games and for me that is perfect.

I like the open-world approach to the game, even if - compared to other open world titles - there is not much to do, but a little collecting and the side missions. The world is great and amazing even to fly around on pandora. The side-game à la "board game risk on pandora" though is pretty forgetable.

Love this game, and it's awesome to play in the Avatar universe. Choose your own character and they have a custom Navi, so cool!

Oddly ambitious and strangely not terrible, Avatar is one of the better movie games I've ever played. 2009 was a year chock full of movie games. Wolverine: Origins, Watchmen: The End is Nigh, Terminator Salvation, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Avatar all came out in 2009. 2009 was the pinnacle of the movie game and Avatar very well may be the best of the bunch. It's a 3rd person shooter with semi open world levels and elements of RPG. It offers two complete amd separate storylines. One as the humans and one as the Na'vi. The playstyles of each faction is distinct enough to keep you to stick around to the end of each campaign. Each campaign has their own separate levels as well. The game does a good job at recreating the world of Pandora as well. The levels are colorful and vibrant and nearly everything you see in the movie, and some things you font, are included in the game. All of the fauna and wildlife of Pandora are here as are the human vehicles from their mechs to their dropships. Many if these things are drivable too which offers a nice wrinkle in gameplay from the run and gun style of the humans and the beat em up melee style of the Na'vi. I was surprised to see such a large game in scope. I would have figured this to be a typical linear game with a shorter campaign. I would have guessed the only difference between playing as human and Na'vi was the character skin. I was surprised to see drivable land and air vehicles. The controls are a bit wonky but at least it's there. They work well enough to complete the levels without wanting to break your controller. The story is a bit meh but that's ok because I was so impressed with the scope and ganeplay and the surprisingly un-terribleness of this game. Bring back movie games. I miss them. Expand

For a 2009 game, it has awesome graphics.

Stroryline is somehow similar to movie, but it's not the same. If you play this game after watching the movie, you will probably like it. Because game offers variety of things from Avatar universe, you can ride human vehicles at the beginning, then fly with banshees, use Na'vi armor and arms etc. Despite dislikes and some boring missions,

It does little to endorse Ubisoft's claim that it's been in development for years, as underneath the admittedly high-detail visuals it's a pretty rudimentary thing. It's a long way better than bilge like the Quantum of Solace, but it's certainly got no sense of a landmark pop-cultural moment, in the way we're repeatedly told the film will.
  2. While the presentation is great and the combat generally enjoyable, the missions leave a lot to be desired - and there's little of the sense of wonder that the movie promises. Had the two campaigns been packed with superbly entertaining moments, the missions been more diverse in their structure, and the "vehicles" been more fun to man, then yes, Avatar the Game might have reached the heights its source material looks set to achieve.

Simply a rather dull experience, which could be the worst thing you could say for any piece of entertainment. From my time with it, James Cameron's Avatar: The Video Game only furthers the point, rather than dispels it, that the movie-to-video game genre is as treacherous as the planet of Pandora itself.
