    This is a top notch game. Well thought out story line combined with excellent graphics and game controls that result in the very best sand box/super hero game to date IMO! What few flaws this game presents are minor and are easily lost in the shadow of the action and fun that this game brings to the table.

    inFamous is amazing, every aspect is done masterfully by Sucker Punch. This is the most orignal super hero games to come out in a long time. (maybe of all time) You must buy this title if you own a PS3 now!

    Know what? This game is freaking incredible! Anyone who doesn't like it lacks imagination. The controls are superb, the story is cool and not over-involving, the powers are great and interact well with the dual shock controllers, and the enemies are just smart enough to piss you off!     Perfectly constructed video game, its the kinda game that kids will be in school thinking about going home to. And I personally look forward to going home from work as is haha, but now I also have another great game to look forward too. And my wife and dog and all that other stuff :P

Many people will post 1's or low scores on this game just because they can't accept that the PlayStation 3 has a killer exclusive on it's hands. The controls are great, COMBAT IS FLAWLESS. The games is Breathtakingly Beautiful. All the Characters animate You get to choose between good and evil through karma actions. You can climb and scale EVERY building in the entire game!     More like 9.5. Overall an awesome game. Some minor flaws such as enemies half stuck in the wall after being defeated. What was most surprising is the fact that you can't mindlessly jump in the middle of a group of enemies and expect to win which is often the case for these types of games.     After completing the game I recommend it to everyone. The story is really cool and all I can say is if I could pre-order the 2nd one now, I would. This game does not get old or repetitive, fun on hero and infamous karma modes and is truely a challenging game. If you own 1 game for your ps3 let it be infamous.     Lets be honest, is inFAMOUS the best game ever? NO! Is it in my top ten? Definately. I've played this game through 3 times at this point and still cant put it down. The powers are fun and well balanced, the story captivating and enriching, the graphics though a little rugged at times still well polished for all the hustle and bustle of whats going on on screen. Only a couple Lets be honest, is inFAMOUS the best game ever? NO! Is it in my top ten? Definately. I've played this game through 3 times at this point and still cant put it down. The powers are fun and well balanced, the story captivating and enriching, the graphics though a little rugged at times still well polished for all the hustle and bustle of whats going on on screen. Only a couple complaints and their all nitpicky such as, why cant I fire between rails or throuh a banister of sorts? The city could be bigger and last but not least the cutscenes do tend to take away from your well earned viewing. The comic book feel is definately neat but a full fledged cutscene showing some of the reveals in this game would have been sweet! The decisions are almost tough to make sometimes and I got more than nervous when playing through the negative side knowing that this action was going to push trish(coles GF) further and further away. I would say definately plenty of bang for you buck and saying that you strive for the Platinum trophy youll invest at least a solid 75 or so hours into this game. Trophy not included still at least 34 to 40! GET IT… Expand

    Cannot get enough of this game. Just beat it on the bad karma and am going back again for the good! Perhaps the game is a bit repetitive at times, but those times are far and few between. Amazing story, nice graphics, smooth controls, and a fun factor of epic proportion are just a few of the reasons why I must recommend this game to anyone!

    This game may not be the best looking, though the art and detail show a lot of love, it may include tons of bugs like lock up, clipping through, and a free floating frame rate. It may have all these issues and it still remains my current favorite PS3 game. I find the play fun, the story interesting, and the world compelling. I may actually give it a 2nd play through just to do all the bad stuff.

    Great PS3 games! the kind of game that makes me happy to have chosen the ps3! Nice visual, not the greatest but very fluid, the action is very nice, I usual HATE platforming but the controls make it so easy that I actually found myself enjoying the building climbing/ wire gliding; jumping like a pro after only a few minutes ! Great game!

    I have to say...This kicked ass. The game looks great for an open world title, complete with textures that look less like textures and more like 3d surfaces. Cole's animations look great, if a little bouncy...but the real meat is the gameplay. A delicious combination of shooting, platforming, and open-world freedom makes this game truly a cut above the rest. I notice that I have not I have to say...This kicked ass.     This game was fantastic -- Sucker Punch did an excellent job creating an engrossing story and a great open-world environment. Very fun, good learning curve, solid graphics -- an all around great game.

The moral choice system is played well here, with crowds either assisting you in your fights and cheering you on, or pelting you with rocks and screaming at you. the pseudo-flying glider ability is very well placed, along with the ability to 'ski' along electric cables and train tracks. the only issues I Its a great game. there is no denying that: huge, varied and interesting.     Awesome gameplay, sick powers, and excellent story and characters. This is one of the best games I have ever played, and also one of the most fun. One of the only flaws is the lack of additional game modes..would love to have an unlimited number of baddies to fry. Excellent game, everyone should check it out. I don't see how you could be disappointed.

    The game is just amazing, the gameplay is just as fun as i hoped, superpowers are awesome, the graphics are incredible and the city look changes depending on your actions, the game has great physics, and much more that i hoped it would have.     Well my vote is actually 9.5 but there is no option for that so i will round up. This game is extremely fun to play, but what would be even more fun is if there were different heroes you can play with, for example a physic or a flame bender or something.

    Well, I usually wait until I finish a game to give my opinion, but I am about 2/3 the way through and overall I have to give this game a 9.5 mainly because when I'm not playing it, I can't wait to do so. It is repetitive but what game isn't. At least it mixes up the missions enough to kill the staleness of it.     I've been playing this game for more than 25 hours now, and all I have to say is; this game is pure fun, it gives me the same feeling many other classics have given me before. It's a great experience to play this game. It's not perfect, so 10 is not for being perfect but for it being the awesome experience it is.

    Amazing game, there are a lot of missions to do but you can choose to stick with just the main missions. Lot's of power ups and powering up your powers. Graphics are an 8.5 at best but the game play makes up for it in gold. You can easily climb anything without fear of falling off and eventually fly! Reason for my giving it a 10 is because it's pure FUN!

    I really had my doubts about this game after playing the demo, but god was that doubt misplaced. After finishing it with all side quests done and most skills unlocked (didnt get the melee because the lightning power is just so great i couldnt help using it) in ONE sitting, i went to bed, slept 6 hours, then started it anew going for evil. Writing this, all i can think about is how much I really had my doubts about this game after playing the demo, but god was that doubt misplaced. After finishing it with all side quests done and most skills unlocked (didnt get the melee because the lightning power is just so great i couldnt help using it) in ONE sitting, i went to bed, slept 6 hours, then started it anew going for evil. Writing this, all i can think about is how much fun this game has to offer, wich in my opinion is rare, as i find most game "entertaining" rather than "immensly fun" and i cant wait to dive back in Cole's shoes.Collecting "dead drops" add to the storyline in a unique and amazing way, blast shards arent a chore to collect unless you ran past every single one and want the trophy after you finish the game. What i do feel is missing on the other hand is the split in the story when you play as good vs evil, it doesnt really have THAT big of an impact on it, except for some parts wich i wont spoil, and playing evil, might not make a difference in a relatively "good" dialogue from Cole. But the sidemissions are relatively varied, as you get new ones from time to time, but the some goes on throughout the game wich can be a bit tedious (im looking at you "counter-surveillance) and i wish i could give a 9.5 because of that. But the game itself seems more about "here have these powers, now go have fun and do whatever you like" wich i found incredibly liberating, compared to games like gta iv wich gives you the same premise, but annoys the hell out of you with that god awful phone ringing all the time "where are you, get over there now, i have a job for you, bla bla bla". Then there are those who say "it sucks because after your done theres nothing else to do!" well how many games do you get lots of new content to do after you complete the game thats not repetitive and uninspiring? And should that Cloud over the fact that you just completed a game that had amazing gameplay, intuitive controls (ok so gliding should have been X+X so you could use lightning and such easier while flying) fluid storyline, amazing characters that really got my attention, i even stopped to listen to those propaganda shows on tv every time, great graphics, and inventive narrative? i rest my case… Expand

This game is awesome in every way, and the only people who say there's only 20+ hours of game play obviously haven't played a GTA game and tried to play InFamous the same.     This game is truly amazing! The gameplay is so smooth, there are so many different powers, the whole good & evil system is incredibly fun, the game has a lot of atmosphere, the city feels alive. Nothing more I can ask for! This is a MUST buy for all PS3 owners!!

    Simply an outstanding game! Core gameplay, controls, movement, combat, and story (yeah, remember those?) are all a pleasure. Everytime I do a good deed, I look forward to reversing it when I play through again as evil ... Yeah, hows your boo-boos now beeotch!!

    I loved this game from start to finish both times. The mechanics of movement never get old, the combat is always thrilling, the characters are interesting and the city itself is beautiful. I cleared out all of the city and found all the dead drops and never got bored of what I was doing. When you're playing a game and the controller seemingly vanishes from your mind then you know I loved this game from start to finish both times.     Fantastic game. Haven't actually finished it yet (i am on the 3rd island - the historic district). However i am having immense fun with this game. Apart from a few minor glitches, which are by no means gamebreaking, this game is flawless in my opinion. Haven't had this much fun on a game for a long long time. Playing in evil mode is fantastic.

    Best game I've played in a while. I have played both prototype and inFamous and by far inFamous is superior. Having Electrical powers is awesome and perfect in this game.

    Let me start by saying I own both an Xbox360 elite and a PS3. I love my 360. I play it 85% of the time while the PS3 gets played only with PS3 exclusives.....That being said.... inFAMOUS is the best next gen console game I've played. I couldn't get enough of it. From frying old people to climbing massive building, healing hobos on a regular basis, beating the wizz out of a bunch of guys with AKs(plus the Conduits)epic bosses and complete and total freedom. Whoever gave this game less than a 9 is utter moron. Spectacular game. Greatest Hero Game of all time(sorry Arkham Asylum).

    I did not expect anything special from this game, then I played the demo... and then I played the game, and I played it again... And again ! And then I understood I had the best sandbox game of this gen in my hands. Then I cried and I screamed a huge "thank you Sucker Punch". Next time, just add some Antialiasing and I'll give you 11/10 !

    Reading a few of these less-than stellar reviews... ridiculous! I really can't see how anyone who ACTUALLY plays this game can say that it's anything less than one of the best releases of this generation. It's a seminal piece storytelling, sandbox gameplay, controls, and originality. Don't miss this one. An prime contender for GAME OF THE YEAR 2009.

    In short, amazing and a dream to play. Every once in awhile, someone develops a game that makes you feel like video games are something new and fresh, inFAMOUS is such a title. It blends some of the best known features in the world of consoles and does it well. You have the rural climber aspects of games like Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed. You have the Force powers style of In short, amazing and a dream to play. Every once in awhile, someone develops a game that makes you feel like video games are something new and fresh, inFAMOUS is such a title. It blends some of the best known features in the world of consoles and does it well. You have the rural climber aspects of games like Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed. You have the Force powers style of Star Wars games. As your character evolves you get in to rail grinding at high speeds like SSX and traversing city-scapes at high speed like in Mirror's Edge. You will even get an ability to semi fly after jumping. You fight gangs and bosses, and accomplish missions like in Crackdown. All of this in an open sandbox city full of unique looking and unique voiced citizens, who dynamically change their dialog and actions based on how you behave in the game. For example, if you are a champion in the city, and the people love you, they will seek you out to help heal those who have fallen. Cheer you on and give words of encouragement. Take pictures of you as you go about your task of making the city safe. You will get powers to aid and help the citizens of the city. The controls are tight and responsive. All you need to do is think it and your hands seemingly get you there with ease. Simply amazing how smooth and in control one feels when playing. Even things like finding collectables become fun as you get a radar that locates them (there are over 300), powers to help you get to them, and a reward of more power as you find them. The fighting is fluid. You can stomp a baddy fist to boot, zap him from mid range, blow them up with grenades, toss them like leaves in the wind, throw cars at them, deflect their own explosives back, or even slow down time and snipe them from afar. There is a lite cover system implemented as well. The story is told through missions, npc contacts, cut scenes, television news stories, outlaw radio stations and hacked communication dishes. Voice acting is superb and convincing. You actually like the guy you are playing, an important bond in any sandbox game. A must buy game for any video game fan of the above mentioned games. A very good start for a IP we are sure to see more out of. Some sort of territory war DLC add on would make this game complete. A rare 10 out of 10 from me.… Expand

    This game is addictive and fun, period. It isn't perfect in terms of graphics and some controls, but the sheer joy I get playing it makes up for this. To me, that's what makes a great game: something you think about playing even when your not.

    This game is completely addicting in every way. There is little repetition that does not harm the game in any and the combat is seamless and exciting. the story seems to good enough for an actual comic book hero. Nothing wrong with this game.

    The reason I give this a 10 is to balance out all the people who gave it low scores (you are entitled to your opinion even if it is wrong). I really think it is a 9. This game is awesome and anybody who gives it a bad review didn't play it long enough. The controls are near perfect. The only problem is when it sucks you to an object that you don't want to grab onto. This game is awesome and anybody who gives it a bad review didn't play it long enough. The controls are near perfect. The only problem is when it sucks you to an object that you don't want to grab onto. I also agree with an earlier review that states that enemies are way too accurate from long range.     the city does change, when your good it looks cleaner, when your evil it does kinda look the same as in the begining but the "citizens" aren't cleaning cause they feel doomed so it makes sense i guess, the ending is awsome and the powers are cool, not bad for a new franchise #2 is gonna be sick definetly worth it.

    HOWEVER, everything else about the game is brilliant - the parkour movement system (other than the odd foible) works very well, you can climb pretty much anything - you're a free-runner who can leap off tall buildings without suffering injury AND you can shoot "lightning bolts" out of your hands... what's not to love! So it's a little dated now, playability-wise it's probably still one of the best games going - it's just, well, fun - lots of fun. Definitely a game every PS3 owner should have - I'd give it a 95, closer to 10 than 9 anyway :)    … Expand

    Fantastic game. Powers are released to you at just the right speed to keep things interesting.
    The ending is simply superb. I never saw that coming only played as hero and will go back to try as infamous.
    Do yourself a favour if, like me, you missed this when it came out and go and play this game.

While waiting for the network closing in April of 2011 to end, Sony finally ended it two months later, and gifted players with two free games on the PS3. Of one of those two games, I got inFamous, a brilliantly engineered third-person shooter game created by Sucker Punch, the creators of the critically acclaimed Sly Cooper series. Using a unique style of influence (Karma) and the powers of electricity, protagonist Cole McGrath must figure out who gave him a mysterious package that decimated six square blocks of Empire City, and why he/she gave it to him.

    One day, Cole McGrath had to deliver a package to someone who was somewhere in Empire City (a depiction of New York state), specifically in the Historic District of the city. When the package was opened was opened however, Cole was in for the biggest surprise of his life. The package opened with a bang; a six square-block wide bang, that is. An electric explosion rocked Empire City, causing six-square blocks to be completely levelled and utterly destroyed. The rest I won't spoil, except for one thing: Cole gains the power of electricity.

    The gameplay mechanics of parkour and karma really help to drive the game towards perfection, even though the area does manage to attract Cole to everything he can grab onto (magnetizing ledges and such). The music (albeit boring after a short time, making you wish you could listen to your own music) is really good; making each individual track must've taken time and effort to help fit in with some of the situations in the game. Each area of Empire City is cleverly designed to challenge Cole with strengthening enemies and twists at every turn in the storyline. Overall, the game is great, but most games are better than their sequels; this game is no exception. 10/10!    … Expand

Major gangs form, and crime is uncontrollable. The game's map design and story elements really shows how this is a broken city. The voice acting is superb, although Cole's voice is quite gravelly, but it's not that bad for the tone of the game. Cole's best friend Zeke is awesome comic relief, although later in the game there is a more serious side to his character. Other characters are also well done. The best thing about the story is it flows and develops well and everything is believable and makes sense within the universe.
    The karma system is mostly black and white, but there are some realistic and hard choices, as well as some silly ones, like choosing what poster best represents you. Although karma affects the story it doesn't really affect the final outcome. By the way, (no spoilers) but that ending is the biggest and best twist I've ever experienced.
    The powers are very fun and gameplay is always new and challenging. The upgrade system works very well. You can upgrade powers differently based on if you are good or evil.
    The game is open world and is fun to explore and find collectibles, do side missions, and mess around. The game has a lot to keep you interested after you finish the story on each side.
    The only bad things I can say about this game are the graphics aren't the best and I've experienced a lot of glitches. So, not much.
    I'm not saying the game is perfect, no game is. I'm just saying this is the best game I have ever played and it is extremely well done. It is rare that we get games this good. It really disappoints me that these games don't have a bigger audience for how good they are.
    Play this game. If you don't own a PS3, buy one to play this game!

    One of the best open world action games I've ever played. The free roaming was one of the best parts of the game. Not to mention the variety of different powers you get to wield throughout it. My only complaint being there weren't enough boss battles and a more convenient way to navigate throughout the three huge boroughs.

It had some missions from the story mode that I find very difficult to beat through and I've been doing side missions. Is it fun? Here are my thoughts. Coming from a fanSo, I had played inFAMOUS from the evening of Saturday the 14th of September to the morning of Thursday the 19th of September, and I played it again this month (as in December 2019 depending on when you read this review). It had some missions from the story mode that I find very difficult to beat through and I've been doing side missions. Is it fun? Here are my thoughts. Coming from a fan of superheroes since childhood, who also sees this game as the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation...YES, it's really fun to play. What a like about the cutscenes of this game is how it looked like it was made from a comic book. Which is funny because DC Comics had made a comic book series adaptation of the Infamous game which is why I thought Cole would've fit perfectly as a playable PlayStation exclusive character for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but nope, we got him in Street Fighter X Tekken for the PlayStation. Maybe it'll be cool to have Delsin Rowe or Fetch or maybe both to appear as playable PlayStation exclusive characters for the next Injustice game for the PS4 and/or the PS5 if Netherrealm Studios are planning on making one. I mean, Netherrealm Studios had Kratos in Mortal Kombat (2011) for the PS3, so why not? I'm not saying that they are doing that, I was saying that it would be cool if they do that. Anyway, I like how the story was made (which I rather not talk about here since this is a spoiler free review), especially the concept of the game which is why I should say it again, it's like the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation.     Не скажу что здесь прям потрясающий сюжет, но играть было в удовольствие. Идет достаточно легко правда иногда напрягала боёвка.

    Un juegaso de PS3 yo la tengo en 2021 y este juego tiene gráficos muy buenos, también es entretenido a más no poder, tiene mecánicas de parkour eficientes de vez en cuando se bugea pero se entiende por el año de salida. en el segundo juego ya no son tan evidentes estos errores pero 100% garantizafo

    A perfect gem. InFamous had everything. A great story, great characters with a great variety of enemies and history arcs makes this story special do the ps3 era. A nice combat with cool powers, and the karma system giving you another version of those powers to your favor. The melee combat was unimpressive and underwhelming.     A fantastic open world game with karma options and superpowers,gameplay nowadays is still amazing and story is absolutely unique with a fantastic character on both side (Evil Karma and Good Karma)
    The isnt aged very well nowadays but is still awesome to see and the amount of collectibles and secondary complete all experience of this amazing game

    Great game overall, if you can get pass the first hour and a half. The powers upgrade well, the good and evil moments are well spread out threw out, boss battles are fun without being too easy. The only problems are that the gangs are too good at aiming at far distances (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) and the platforming can sometime get annoying when you don't want to Great game overall, if you can get pass the first hour and a half. Overall the gameplay and graphics are great, the story and ideas are good, only the in game voice acting is below par, but the cut scenes are well done. And by the way, did anyone else notice the three low scores before the game ever came out, fanboys should get over it.… Expand

    I have been pissed off by the demo but this is a problem i have with all the demo around: they never reflects the game as they should.

    When i buyed inFamous i was curious to see how the full game could be...and WOW ... this game is really amazing. Frredom, shooting, parkour all in 1 game with spectacular cutscene and funny second missions.
    I really raccomed this game to any gamer around.

    Most importantly, the movement and combat mechanics are fantastic, while the firefights (and the starring role of electricity) are a true spectacle. In this game the city is both your playground and your plaything, and you'll feel like a bad-ass.
