I finished the game and it was awesome the story and gameplay was very good, the reason I took 1 point because of the enemies on the roofs they were too many and they were shooting at me everywhere I went and it made me angry

Excellent game. Love the choice based system of whether you want to be the hero and villain and there's a lot of moral gray area involved in these choices.

The isnt aged very well nowadays but is still awesome to see and the amount of collectibles and secondary complete all experience of this amazing game

This game does a lot right. With climbing, traversal, and combat being quite fun and even challenging at some points. My major gripes with this game come down to a quite slow initial story progression. It feels like this game takes a long time to get rolling narratively and that is a huge point against it.

One of the worst PlayStation exclusives. The only thing, that's good about this garbage - the story, that's all. Gameplay, graphics, missions, animations, FPS - are absolately terrible and do not pass the test of time from the word at all.

A great game that has aged a lot. The gameplay and graphics don't hold up that well but it's great for it's time. Cole's electricity powers are cool but nothing too unique. A lot of the strongpoints of infamous comes from my own personal nostalgia. Playing this game as a kid was so awesome and I thought it was revolutionary at the time and I still think it is.

Kind of surprised that this held up as well as it did. The traversal is still pretty fun and the combat is neat. It is irritating that every enemy takes a lot of hits to bring down, but it did lead to some harrowing moments for sure.

My only real problem is the way the story is presented. Not the actual story itself-that was excellent. But the most important story beats are restricted to storyboard cutscenes that are told in the past tense. Cole explaining what happened with his Will Arnett knock off voice completely ruined some real important scenes.

Also, I was not prepared for the amount of escort/protection missions. Those did get pretty frustrating.

Overall, I did enjoy it and I'm looking forward to giving the sequel a try.

Playing on PS Now sucks. The controls can get very unresponsive at times.

The game mechanics were fun, but the game is not very clear on what needs to be done during the missions so it can turn very frustrating trying to complete them. Apart from that, it was a good action game I went all the way down the evil path and it was lots of fun. It would be good if the missions weren’t so

I played the 2nd game three times before I decided to try the first game. And I was a little disappointed. Mainly because the militia characters are so annoying - unbelieveably precise when shooting from far away and the combats are sometimes really hard and annoying.

There are many reasons why it deserves a 9 out of ten, like it's great combat, awesome exploration and fun powers. By fun powers, I mean abilities like shockwave, static thrusters and induction grind, abilities which help exploration and help give combat versatility. By awesome exploration, I mean the fact that everything is climbable, which I loved, need to work on Cole's walking sound (traumatic flashback). Now where getting into the meat of it, combat, combat in inFAMOUS is down right awesome in every way shape and form. Stick to rooftops and gain a vantage point that will help with aiming powers like the grenades and rockets. Or do my personal favourite and enter combat by way of thunder drop, then back off to medium range, good enough to get headshots and shockwave those who get to close, walk forward as you fight and use the surrounding cars as explosions' for those too far or who cant quite hit. Then as enemy has been placed in a forced into a group, knock them on their backs with shockwave and either use grenades or lightning bolts to finish it. Those are two of the many approaches you can take to a battle, due to the near symbiotic relationship of climbing and combat, but now its time to get into difficulty, inFAMOUS's difficulty is near perfect for me, first and second playthrough I thought it would be too challenging to go beyond easy mode. Now on my third playthrough I'm playing on hard mode, bum rushing the enemy, and using the powers where the situation calls for. Used to think shockwave was useless, now it's my best friend. I used to spam grenades whenever possible, now I use them sparingly. Point I'm trying to make is that hard mode is great because it forces you to actually think in a combat situation instead of just mindlessly spamming megawatt hammers (lightning rockets) everywhere in hopes of hitting something. Sure hard mode is well, hard, and I die at least once every 10 minutes, but it's also where the game is the most fun. So in summary (ugh, PEEL what have you done to me) inFAMOUS has fun electrical powers that help add more versatility to both combat and exploration, awesome terrain that is completely climbable, combat that has many different approaches that don't just devolve to "different gun different fight". Then combining all those together with the perfectly crafted difficulty is just part of the reason why I think inFAMOUS deserves a 9 out of 10. Emphasis on part of the reason. Expand

It had some missions from the story mode that I find very difficult to beat through and I've been doing side missions. Is it fun? Here are my thoughts. Coming from a fan of superheroes since childhood, who also sees this game as the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation...YES, it's really fun to play. What a like about the cutscenes of this game is how it looked like it was made from a comic book. Which is funny because DC Comics had made a comic book series adaptation of the Infamous game which is why I thought Cole would've fit perfectly as a playable PlayStation exclusive character for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but nope, we got him in Street Fighter X Tekken for the PlayStation. Maybe it'll be cool to have Delsin Rowe or Fetch or maybe both to appear as playable PlayStation exclusive characters for the next Injustice game for the PS4 and/or the PS5 if Netherrealm Studios are planning on making one. I mean, Netherrealm Studios had Kratos in Mortal Kombat (2011) for the PS3, so why not? I'm not saying that they are doing that, I was saying that it would be cool if they do that. Anyway, I like how the story was made (which I rather not talk about here since this is a spoiler free review), especially the concept of the game which is why I should say it again, it's like the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation. I had a fun time playing the game.

P.S. The only issue I have with the game which I agree with gamers who have the same thing with this game are the glitches which I'll have to get use to, but aside from that, it's still fun to play. I totally recommend it.

Google Translate: The combat system is just a piece of **** At the beginning of the game we are told that we have two ways to destroy enemies: in close combat or from a distance, with the help of shots. Hand-to-hand combat immediately disappears, because enemies do not just run away from you faster, but they also manage to shoot you. And the shooting ... she's just bad. While you are aiming at one of the opponents, the rest of the horde threw a bunch of ammo at you. Yes, yes, opponents of the whole horde. Still in the game there are somersaults, but they are absolutely useless, opponents get into you in 100% of cases. You look out for one second (I do not exaggerate), and twenty cartridges are flying at you. Shelters are made crooked, just crooked. They are inconvenient to use.

"Infamous" is a superhero game that blends "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" with "Assassin's Creed". Developed by Sucker Punch, it's an open-world action title that is an absolute blast to play. While it's not a masterpiece, the game is better than "Prototype". If you liked the developer's "Sly Cooper" titles, than you'll love this. I would rate it with an 8.5 out of 10.

The bad things begin with bugs. I know, games are shipped with them all the time. The best games do contain bugs. However, when the bugs start to mess with the experience of the game in a negative way, I will start to be annoyed. This includes me being killed by touching solid ground after jumping a meter in the air. No enemies, no land mines, no water, not even my own projectiles, yet I was still killed.

A minor issue is the jerky animation. The excuse that games were just like that back then is not a good excuse, as Uncharted 2 came out the same year and has aged fairly well.

My next complaint is the difficulty. I played on Normal up until halfway through the Warren missions, where the difficulty was so controller-breakingly annoying that I turned it down to Easy. I still struggled on that mode though. Infamous 1's normal mode is Infamous: Second Son's hard mode. I would know, I have the platinum for Second Son.

My final complaint is the enemies. Oh my good lord, the enemies. They are the only bad part about the entire game. Collect 350 blast shards, okay. Beat the game on both Hero and Infamous, of course I'll do it. Beat the game on Hard Mode, yeah no (I still did lol), not with those enemies. Some story missions and side missions consist of enemy spamming to the point of insanity. The only time it worked was the mission after you got the Thunderstorm move.

Overall, it did deserves a 6/10 for what it was.

The camera will randomly flip from behind Cole to in front of him, messing up your jumps big time. Cole's climbing and his willingness to cling to everything is cumbersome. Some of Cole's upgrades feel hollow, especially the damage reduction one, as I see no difference at all. The sheer amount of enemies the game spawns on you at times is absolutely ridiculous as well. Keep in mind, this is the game on the easiest difficulty as well. The story seemed intriguing at first, but it doesn't really do well at holding it all together. The characters you're supposed to care about are either annoying and you want them to die instantly (looking at you Zeke and your stupid, pointless calls to me after every side mission), or they never really amount to much. John was supposed to be a huge part of the game, but Moya had me do so many tasks that had nothing to do with John, I soon forgot about him as part of the main story. For a while, I assumed his role would play out in nothing more than the dead drop side quest bits you'd come across every so often.

All in all, this game could have been something awesome, but the ideas and execution simply fell short. Frustrating controls, pin-point accuracy for enemies, and a subpar story all add up for a game that you'll quit before actually finishing it.

Graphics are really good if you think that this game is from 2009. Gameplay is quite addictive. It reminds me a bit the Assassin'ts Creed and GTA but without driving and guns. I think this game can attract different kind of players. Voices in Spanish were good but it was difficult to follow the plot. Anyway, this game is defenitely a must have.

It did start getting a little boring climbing the buildings in a tedious kind of way, but it was a unique idea and didn't distract from the game in any way. I found myself loving the open world of this game from the beginning and was looking forward to playing it after work every day. Sometimes I'd have to stop and take a break, but once you come back to it, it becomes easier again. I loved jumping mechanisms. The game creators made it so that he can do a decent-spaced leap, which really enhanced the quality of the game. The boss fights were also very unique. Expand

One of the greatest plot twists in gaming history.
And the game play - a fine art. I haven't had this much fun screwing around with lightning since Jedi Outcast. The controls are tight, the story is amazing, do not hesitate playing this game. You will not regret it.

My first ever game on PS3 and damn did it take off to a brilliant start. It was completely new to me the way they did the story but it was engaging, dark and awesome in either extremes. The extremes were then translated outside of the main missions in terms of how you react to distress signals from civilians.

You have to play through it at least twice to get a full understanding of the story. Your character also developed differently, depending on which extreme you chose on each mission. You could really resonate with the pain the main character had as he tried to make amends barred in a hugely dark, urban, depressing yet fascinating environment. A sandbox environment that was pulled off really well. Taking control of districts by completing side missions which also added to the depth of playing this game the way you want to play it. The freedom is awesome. Graphically the game was fantastic. The characters each paid great dividends to really amp the story in an awesome way; this made them really interesting and memorable.

There were also many different ways you could approach areas and complete certain missions in terms of the way you travel, the way you fight depending on your upgrades or whatnot weighted on either karma extremes. This made the game very fun for me because of the wide range of possibilities I could choose to act upon them.

The only reason I would give this amazing game a 9, that delivered a completely different experience after transitioning from PS2 - apart from the self-explanatory graphic improvement - is because of time-to-time glitches that were slightly irritating from time to time and the ridiculous amount of shards you had to collect to fully complete the game! Way too many, I mean I eventually did it but man that took a while.

To sum it up, awesome game. Would totally recommend to anyone that wants to go back to PS3 and start-up one of the older, classic great games of that generation.

The electric powers that make up this games main mechanic are fun at first, but few are used alk that creatively and the combat is rarely anything special, enemies are easily dispatched yet are also a constant worry as they're all shockingly good marksmen, causing this game to suffer from quite severe "who the hell is shooting me?!" syndrome. Add in a city with no life too it, no real landmarks or anything really distinct to it, and you have a somewhat boring by-the-numbers game.

Story wise there's nothing special happening here, it's a barely explored cliché story about a gang controlling a city with a contrived binary morality system which periodically asks you stupid extremes, "would you like to save the baby from the burning building or wait 20 minutes and add barbecue sauce?". The story seems obsessed with sending you into the sewers regularly, which makes an otherwise drab game even more drab.

In short, if you like open world action and superheroes, you may get some fun from this but I'd expect the game to wear out it's welcome for most gamers, I struggled to motivate myself to finish this one. Admittedly this game is fun for the first few hours, I just can't help thinking; yet again, that this same style of game was done better by Spider-man on the PSOne... which for a PS3 game, that's a rather damning sentiment.

Infamous is an amazing game that had never really been witnessed before when it came out. It blends a wonderful combat system with cool characters and an unforgettable choice system. One of my all time favorite games, and one of my all time favorite series.
    PROS:
+Original at it's time, and it still does the concept of superhero better than any other game out there. Not even the Spiderman 2 game can touch this.
+Wonderful, delicious, and juicy 3rd person combat. While ducking into cover can be a pain, it never dims down in terms of action and overall insane intensity - it also flows pretty smooth.
+Writing, it's off-the-wall! While Trish is without a doubt the most dull of all the characters, you're exposed to the hilarious and somewhat charming Zeke, the crazy and lustful Sasha, the bias and hateful TV people/"The Voice of Survival", the old insane and broken Alden, and the star - the intimating agile hero and/or anti-hero: Cole.
+The moral choice mechanic: it is wonderful! While some games like Paper's Please do it more subtly, Infamous also has an unforgettable and, in my opinion, better moral choice system. You way out the pros and cons of the choices you make in your actions, and you get the choice between being selfish and benefiting yourself while hurting others, or taking a hard hit to protect and save the innocent civilians.
+You get the vibe you're in a hopeless environment - one that is barely standing and needs hero to carry it, or a villain to bring it all-the-way down. The people in the quarantined city say things like "I was only supposed to be here a day," or "help, I can't find my daughter!" It delivers a feeling of eeriness and despair.
    CONS:
-Some missions are so difficult it leaves you scratching your head saying, "what idiot came up with this level."

Story: A take on the superhero genre, InFamous is set in the fictional Empire City, in which a massive explosion causs the rise of superpowered beings known as Conduits. Cole MacGrath is one of the people who turned into Conduits. Armed with electirc abilities, Colde must deal with the threats on the city in the forms of three Conduit factions, led by the aging Alden Tate, the deadly Sasha, and the mysterious Kessler. Now, he can choose to be either the city's savior, or its greatest enemy. - InFamous tells an amazing story of a man with superpowers who can decide if he wants to be a hero, or a villain. While the first half of the story is very good, the second half is simply outstanding, packed with emotional tones and enjoyable action mixed together so well. The characters themselves are well-written as well, from protagonist Cole to his BFF Zeke to the antagonists. 9.5/10.

Graphics: InFamous uses an in-house engine. Honestly, the game is somewhat inferior to other 2009 titles such as Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2. Thankfully Cole's powers look so good and the city, while a bit too brown and grey, is very well-designed. 8.5/10.

Sound: Top-notch voice acting alongside matching soundtrack done by the joint effort a five-man team. Some of the sound effects are rather hit-and-miss. 9/10.

Gameplay: Think of GTA mixed with super-powers of thunder and lightning. Throughout the game Cole will learn and upgrade more abilities. For the most part, it work, great. The boss battles are fun and well-designed to test the player. Platforming works very well and is easy to execute. There are, however, some AI problems, and the city itself feels somewhat lifeless at times, compare to GTA IV and AC2. 9/10.

Lasting Appeal: Story is 20+ long and has good/bad paths, so players can replay the game at least twice. There's a lot of side stuff to do after the main quest is over. Plus, it's just fun to be dicking around in Empire City. 10/10.

Verdict: Powered up with huge playground, enjoyable gameplay and powerful story, InFamous is a superb title in Sony's PS3 family, and a must-own for sandbox-genre or comic book fans.
    Final Score: 9.2/10

Incredible game that will be worth your time! Compare to the current games it doesn't look that decent but the game play will prove that wrong. The open world in Infamous is large and has many things to do, I fairly put in about 40 hours into the game and just finished half of the side missions and the story of the good side and it's only half way, there is also the evil side to play with.Incredible game that will be worth your time! In many ways the game comes across as slightly dated with the poorly animated characters in particular making Infamous occasionally feel older than it actually is. It is also hard not to feel many other aspects have been done better in other open world titles, including the co-op enabled Crackdown. There are other annoyances as well with the character not always grabbing on to the piece of scenery you intended, dull sidequests and enemies that spawn from nowhere who’ll then continually shoot at you whilst you try to complete the tasks set.

All these criticisms may make it sound like I completely disliked the game, but that is far from being the case. For at least the first half of the game (It outstayed it’s welcome by a good few hours) Infamous was generally quite fun, not to mention fairly challenging, with each of the powers being well implemented and traversing the city defeating enemies can provide a good few hours of entertainment. It’s by no means a classic but if you own a Playstation 3 its worth giving a go.

Second Son is by far the best inFamous yet. If you're a fan of the series, then checking this one out is a no-brainer, and if you're not, consider jumping in with Delsin. You don't need any prior knowledge of the franchise to do so, and if you have any appreciation of open-world superhero games, you'll enjoy it.

Cole's powers are cool, the graphic novel cutscenes are stunning, the story is intriguing, and the city is alive.

Most importantly, the movement and combat mechanics are fantastic, while the firefights (and the starring role of electricity) are a true spectacle. In this game the city is both your playground and your plaything, and you'll feel like a bad-ass.

While not wholly original, the game's blend of open world ideals with superhero powers is done with a verve that’s unsurpassed, and the mesh of platforming and freeform combat is uniquely satisfying.
