    This game took everything that made the first game so great and made it better. You have new powers, new places to explore and new unlockables. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the occasional wonky camera. However if you loved the first game, you'll love this as well.

    This game is a masterpiece. The music, graphics, story, and gameplay are great. So missions aren't very memorable, but for the most part they are. This game is much better than the first, but I recommend you play the original first because it's also a great game. Keep it up Sucker Punch!

You won’t find any open world superhero sandbox as good as this, let alone many games in general as good as this. At about 15hrs per playthrough and with all the user levels, this game has huge replay value.     This was a very good game. I was always an Xbox fan boy but i got a PS3 and I loved it. This game was very well done. What gets me mad now are fan boys who make accounts just to give it a bad review. I can say I am pumped for Infamous Second Sun

    InFamous 2 is without a doubt an improvement over its predecessor... but that's not saying much! The story is much better and the morality choices play a much more prominent role. However, the biggest problem i still have with this series is that they make you out to be some unstoppable force that you just aren't.     Infamous 2! The action game that everybody seems to love on the Playstation 3! And it is a good game indeed. I was coming in expecting more of the same from Infamous 1 with a new story and setting and I was right. There is little new in the action department and you are basically doing the same thing from start to finish, what keeps you going is the ability to break away from theInfamous 2! There is little new in the action department and you are basically doing the same thing from start to finish, what keeps you going is the ability to break away from the over-serious story with silly characters and basically bring the New Orleans rip off of a city to it's knees with your awesome lightning powers! Destroying everything in sight and even using the new abilities that are introduced in the game is very fun and satisfying which is to say is my favorite thing about this game. The story is okay, but I feel that it takes itself too seriously and it is just a tad ridiculous at times but what can you do. I mean just like some other action-adventure games and movies out there you are playing as a bad guy masquerading as a good guy and it doesn't really matter if you go for the good or evil endings, Cole basically acts the same way. He doesn't really care about the people he protects, and even as good he really only cares about power. He is an anti-hero at his core no matter what; Zeke provides some good comic relief here and there on the other hand. I think that the first provided a better story with better fleshed out characters and combat all around; by the second half of the 2 game the combat in particular is lacking to say the least. You've got these monsters, ice guys, and the militia all fighting you and whoever came up with the idea that flood town would be a good idea for players to have fun in needs to be forced to play in it for 24 hours because it really is not that fun, it is more annoying. Overall, it is an enjoyable game despite being more of the same, the story is engaging but lacking in my opinion, but it is fun and that is what matters.… Expand

    Can't stress how much i loved this game. First thing i must mention is that they gave Cole a personality this time around, he isn't as stiff and quiet as he was in the first game. The voice actor change was definitely for the better and Zeke is still one of my favorite secondary video game characters. None of that stereotypical superhero BS, he drinks and swears like a human turned powerCan't stress how much i loved this game.     I really enjoyed the first game, so most of the same pros and cons apply for this review. Imma make this short and sweet. If you liked the first game you'll like this one too. Some changes come in the form of setting and combat. The new setting is welcomed but it feels kinda blend compared to the original. One of my major problems is that cole has a new voice actor.     Lasting Appeal: The game is worth it if you bought this game expecting to do everything. I’d still recommend a play through of this game, and it does have more replay value for a second play through making different choices. 10.

    Infamous 2 is my second favorite game of this generation. It's gameplay and story work so well that it makes you want more. Makes me extremely excited for Infamous: Second Son on the Playstation 4.

    When I first played infamous 2 I regretted purchasing it ,since I outplayed the first one...until I got new powers which just automatically got me hooked with the included User generated content you'll get tons of hours playing this game it never ends....can't wait for Infamous Second Son

    InFamous 2 is simply the best. It's just one of the PS3 Exclusive blockbuster. I'm very hyped about the new upcoming In-famous Second Son, i heard the critics said alots of good things about it. Can't wait to buy it on PS4 :D

    I'm assuming you have already read up on what this game is about, so let's get to it. First off the story in the game is following the amazing story of the first game. In this game the story is more complicated. Cole must defeat the beast, cleanse the world of the plague, and confront a new enemy, Bertrand. Unlike the first game, the story is more messy, unrealistic, and not everything is explained or makes sense. But that doesn't mean it isn't really good. Bertrand is a prejudice man who hates conduits, and want to kill everyone of them. He formed a militia to protect New Marais from conduits. Any conduit is considered evil to him. The game's map design shows a much brighter, happier place than Empire City. This seems to also reflect on the characters. Cole is back, this time w/ a new voice actor. The voice fits enough and you'll become used to it as the game goes on, and even like it more than the old voice. I think Zeke is awesomer in this game. Showing both a deeper emotional and comedy side to him. Other characters such as Dr. Wolfe and Kuo have great acting and characters. My biggest problem w/ this game is the character Nix. She is a swamp dweller who has fire powers. She is kinda evil, but she seems more crazy, like a psychopath. Later in the game her only cause for occasionally doing good is that she has swamp monsters that she thinks are her babies. Nix is an overall stupid character that doesn't fit w/ the other well acted and done characters in the game. I never felt like I should actually choose Nix's choice. The story seems too complicated and too silly compared to the tone of the first game at times. No spoilers, but the game has two different endings, both show the true peak of the brilliance of this game. Both are very emotional and extreme and they outcome that you may think would happen. This is where the amazing acting really shows as you see how the character's relationships have evolved over the course of the game because of your choices.
    The karma system is more black and white than it was in the first game. The choices don't seem as hard, expect for the final one.
    The powers are very fun and gameplay is always new and challenging. The upgrade system let's you have a wide expanse of fun powers to use. The new melee weapon the "amp" is much better than punching guys in the first game, and is quite fun to smack people to death.
    The game is open world and is fun to explore and find collectibles, do side missions, and mess around. The game has a lot to keep you interested after you finish the story on each side. There is the addition of user created missions, which can be fun but aren't as good as what comes on the disc, kinda just an extra thing to mess with.
    I have a lot of small problems w/ the game, things it's predecessor did better, but yet I think the game is one of the best ever made.
    I have become a huge inFAMOUS fan and loved the crap out of this game!
    Play this game, but play the first one first. If you don't own a PS3, buy one to play these games!

    One of my favorite PS3 exclusives, I can't wait for Second son! The gameplay is fantastic, and the story is pretty cool along with the morality system making this a great, must have Ps3 game.

    inFamous 2 is a brilliant game. the 1st one was meh i mean like not bad. But this one is epic content is this game is so fun and some time hilarious like planet of zeke"s. I really think that this game is designed for comic book fans and i mean this game is just brilliant

The controls are just as smooth as they were in the first game; running around dodging enemy fire is exhilarating, as well as a much-improved upgrade system with more creative powers. Top it off with one of the most compelling stories that has likeable characters and genuinely touching moments, and you have one of my personal GOTYs.… Expand

Suckerpunch has improved the controls tremendously, however, and they've added an entire new selection of moves, including ones that involve fire and ice powers.     I really liked this game, the development of the first chapter. I think this game reduced a little bit the idea of decay that characterized the first chapter and I didn't really like your powers, but after all I liked the game a lot.

    This improves on the graphics and the combat system from the first game. The story suffers a little, and is completely inconsistent from the first game. The karma system is weaker too, your choices offer very little emotional impact compared to the first game (in this you'll receive encouragement regardless of what you do).

    inFAMOUS 2 is my absolute favorite game of all time. This game is more polished then the first game seeing as this was released later into the PS3's life span. There's a decently long singleplayer campaign to keep you busy while telling you the amazing story.

    Once you're finished, you can try out the side missions. Some side missions and story missions are exclusive to a certain side of    inFAMOUS 2 is my absolute favorite game of all time.     Once you're finished, you can try out the side missions. Some side missions and story missions are exclusive to a certain side of karma, so you might want to do 2 playthroughs for the full story. (but the good story is the only canon one.) If that's not enough, you can collect all of the blast shards which are collectibles hidden around the map.

    Still not enough? Make and play UGC missions! This game has great replayability and infinite post game content, at least until UGC servers shut down. I also love the variety of powers you can buy and use to change the gameplay every once and a while. You might want to do a playthrough where you only use a certain set of powers. The game isn't perfect though, as sometimes when climbing on certain ledges Cole might clip into some things, but that's just a visual bug. I tried to think of other bugs, but I couldn't think of any. You probably will encounter more, though.    … Expand

    The mobility is great and makes getting around less of a chore,it gives you collectibles that actually matter,since they give you little pieces of lore and power-ups(and unlike in Brütal legend,they're easy to spot),the combat is awesome,and the comic book-like presentation is spectacular.The morality system may be a little underwhelming due to its black-and-white nature,but it's at least a morality system that makes a significant game play difference(aka,you get different attacks and means of getting around depending on your morality).One thing that should also be brought up is the villain.Just the way I like my villains:creepy,down-to-earth and make good boss fights.Speaking of boss fights,there is only a few in the whole game and they're not all that good for the most part,so hardcore action gamers may be a bit turned off.Two things I also have to criticize it for,the world isn't all that big compared to those in GTA or elder scrolls,and there's not that much enemy variety.

    I expected more from this game. I enjoyed more the first infamous although this time I only did a few extra missions, so maybe because of this I felt it was quite short. Also, I felt that some main missions were not really interesting.     It is amazing how much the production quality has Improved Sometimes it can look like a PS4 game , But I think the game has lost some things Doesn't feel as satisfying as infamous 1, Plus I think the map was better in the first one I don't know about you but I like the New York style more than New Orleans , Still a PS3 classic don't underestimate it I just like the original one better

    So, I played inFAMOUS 2 from Thursday the 19th of September right after I had played and beaten the first inFAMOUS game until I had beaten THIS game on Friday the 27th of September (I’m in the middle of playing it for the second time), and it’s the same thing as the first one, it’s the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation, it’s also fun and I agree with most people that inFAMOUS 2 is betterSo, I played inFAMOUS 2 from Thursday the 19th of September right after I had played and beaten the first inFAMOUS game until I had beaten THIS game on Friday the 27th of September (I’m in the middle of playing it for the second time), and it’s the same thing as the first one, it’s the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation, it’s also fun and I agree with most people that inFAMOUS 2 is better than inFAMOUS 1. Yes, I want to go play the inFAMOUS video game series in chronological order. I enjoyed the second game more if only because it has more characters that have superhuman abilities, I’m not telling you which ones because spoilers. It has an interesting story that takes place where we left off from the first game and it had some cool upgrades of superhuman abilities. Yes, there are choices of both karmas depending on which side you choose to be on. I always choose the good side, but that’s just me. Also, the graphics of inFAMOUS 2 are good. Like really good. On the flip side, not only inFAMOUS 1 fits perfectly for the PS3, but I thought the graphics of inFAMOUS 1 looked like something that would’ve also fit well for the PS2 when the game first came out, but I digress.     When I made my 6/10 review on Infamous 1, I was skeptical about playing Infamous 2. But after giving it a chance, it easily became my favorite game in the series, even surpassing Infamous: Second Son. Here’s why:

    The Story: While simple, I found it to be very interesting. I liked the characters, especially Kuo because of how her character changes so drastically from beginning to end.    When I made my 6/10 review on Infamous 1, I was skeptical about playing Infamous 2. But after giving it a chance, it easily became my favorite game in the series, even surpassing Infamous: Second Son. Here’s why:

    The Story: While simple, I found it to be very interesting. I liked the characters, especially Kuo because of how her character changes so drastically from beginning to end. The setting is sort of a stereotypical coastal town, but stereotypes don’t matter as long as it is executed well.

    The Morality: It’s a pretty bare morality system, but at least you have reasons for choosing to be good or evil, unlike in Second Son where it’s just kinda there for no reason other than carrying the legacy of the series forward.

    The Parkour: I don’t care for parkour. It’s usually the weakest feature in games that don’t have it as it’s main feature. The only game I have seen execute this correctly is Second Son.

    The Combat: Hoo boy. This is what brought the game from 7 to 8. It was a lot of fun to blast enemies with electricity. All of the abilities were balanced correctly, even the variants of them all. Some enemies do take a few too many hits to kill, but that can be solved by using grenades or rockets. The thing that really wins me over in the combat though is the melee. It is so satisfying to melee enemies into oblivion with finishers, because they all have a sense of spectacle and look like they cause a ton of pain.

    All in all, great game. Definitely deserves to be considered the best in the series.    … Expand

    InFamous 2 is everything a Super Hero game should be. Which is making the player feel like a BAD ASS. The game-play is a polished version of the original InFamous game-play but adding new powers makes it feel fresh. The introduction of different powers (Fire and Ice) depending on your Karma Level is amazing and adds reply value to the already phenomenal base electricity game-play. Also,InFamous 2 is everything a Super Hero game should be. Which is making the player feel like a BAD ASS. The game-play is a polished version of the original InFamous game-play but adding new powers makes it feel fresh. The introduction of different powers (Fire and Ice) depending on your Karma Level is amazing and adds reply value to the already phenomenal base electricity game-play. Also, the controls are easy to learn. The open world of New Maris is a lively city that is packed with side quests and Blast Shards that you need if want to expand Cole's power capacity. However, you are not invincible. There are many threats in the game some of which are actually caused by your own powers, expect a challenge with this game. The game-play isn't the only good thing about the game, The story is also extremely good with two different routes which adds to already huge replay value of the game. Not a single character is bland, Zeke is personally my favorite character besides Cole. Both Nix and Kuo are also amazing for there respective roles. The main villain Bertrand, is incredibly well made and has a believable goal. The Graphics still hold up even in 2018, there fantastic. Overall, InFamous 2 is a very well made game and is one of the best games of all time. I highly recommend InFamous 2 to any gamer, seriously you're missing out on a stellar game.… Expand

    They improved the gameplay as well as the story from the previous game. I did wish they added side quests with more depth. They are still "get this thing or kill this guy", which is boring and made me lose interest. The main story however is exiting and added pressure. Overal I did enjoy infamous 2.

    Honestly, and this is purely my opinion so I already sure that many would disagree... but I place it above the Arkham Games and PS4 Spiderman as my favourite Super-hero game of all time. Arkham and Spidey are definitely more polished as far as presentation and graphics go, and they're narratives are probably better too but this just 'plays' so well. I find the melee-driven combat of Arkham and to a slightly lesser degree Spidey soooo boring but the various projectile combat of Infamous much more satisfying. The combat also feels considerably more free too, with the choice of where to take your fight to bolster your own play-style.

    I've enjoyed it so much that not only will I play Second Son and First Light at some point but I've also reordered the original Infamous (as I cant find my original copy). Also, considering I was kinda dreading returning to the PS3 for some reason... the game looks pretty damn good too. So good in fact that I've dug out all my old PS3 games I never ended up getting around to playing and added them to my PS4 backlog. The major bonus of which, I never played Skate 3 so that will be pushed to somewhere near the top of my play-list.    … Expand

    Better than the first one. What I love from these games is that they give the chance for the evil to triumph. You not only get the chance to play as the hero but the villain too and that's awesome.

If you were as attached to Cole as I had become over the two games, this game was an emotional one. The story was done amazingly, and I barely wanted to quit playing.     Continuing after the events of the first game, inFAMOUS 2 is a much improved sequel, both story wise and gameplay wise. There's much more content and stuff to do in inFAMOUS 2. Everything from Story missions, side missions, UGC missions, free roaming, finding collectibles, etc. Leaving you with hours of fun open world fun.

    Easily tied with Second Son for the best game in the series. Infamous 2 boasts many improvements over it's predecessor that you can only truly appreciate if you've played through the first game. Not to mention the welcome addition of in engine cutscenes that allow for better story telling than what was present in the first game.

    Man, the game is pretty good. the story is very well built, with the good and bad endings and the powers give hours of fun mainly in the open world. it's just kind of annoying that after the main story, you almost don't see the militia in the game anymore, just the ice guys practically. but apart from that the game is great!

    Beyond any criticism you may have about the game, the game does one thing right. Enjoyability. Infamous games aren't the best Sony exclusive games that exist, but they are truly some of the most fun you will have in an open world game. Going back and playing this game in 2021, I find the game is still a joy to play.

    One of the best superhero games of all time. The story is great, the karmic decisions are slightly weaker than infamous 1 but in exchange we get unique endings depending on your karma and it's incredible. The powers in infamous are as the most unique it's ever been at the time and the variety is great. This game is just pure fun and I love it so dearly, especially with the added nostalgia I have.

    I just hate this game. After the first cutscene it just drops you in with not enough explanation to what's going on. I also think the gameplay is just flat out garbage. I feel like the lightning bolts should be mapped to R2 and L2. I refuse to beat the second part.

    Infamous 2 while it is a great game, it is DEFINITELY not as good as the original. But nonetheless, it had great potential to be a great sequel and it came out during a time when Sony was trying their damn hardest to surpass the Xbox 360 in sales and you know what, it did.

    InFamous 2 is a solid upgrade version from the previous title. The story picks right after the first one and you're in for a treat. The melee combat has been updated and is much more fun and engaging. There's new eletricity and ice and slug powers. Each of these powers is heavily related to the karmic system and their characters.

    inFamous 2 doesn't make many missteps. It may lack the polish and big name license of the recent Batman games, but for a solid and dependable superhero videogame, there aren't many more enjoyable and more consistent than this excellent superpowered romp.

    Whether you're a fan of the first inFAMOUS or new to the series, the amount of gameplay and riveting story should please all. A few small tweaks to the Move controls would go a long way in improving the overall feel of the game but an absolutely fantastic and worthwhile title nonetheless.

    A very good superhero's sandbox. There's a lot fighting, but it's good fighting. A lot of replay potential. The level editor is a worthy bonus, too. [Aug 2011]
