Infamous 2 is one of the best ps3 games, it surpasses the first one and deserved better recognitions, everything seems fantastic to me since there is no infamous 3 sequel with Cole as the protagonist.

One of the best superhero games of all time. The story is great, the karmic decisions are slightly weaker than infamous 1 but in exchange we get unique endings depending on your karma and it's incredible. The powers in infamous are as the most unique it's ever been at the time and the variety is great. This game is just pure fun and I love it so dearly, especially with the added nostalgia I have.

The game set foot in New Marais a representation of the real life New Orleans. The world itself has gotten a bit more complex and fun to deal with each "faction" enemies using the environments. The karmic system still is basically the same as InFamous. Not trying to spoil anything, but the ending was okay-ish and underwhelming. Still the game was fun, the combat was very fun and enjoyable. Just like the first one, I fully recommend this one.

well it took me a couple of days to finish this game and i have to say i enjoyed all of it. while alot the missions can be a bit repetitive the suspense that the story provides keeps the player going as with me i had to keep going because i had to know what happened next. There was also a good variety of powers available to the player which made the game more fun as well.

This is a fun game. The major drawback is the extremely weak A.I and the respawning issues (particularly with cars after you have launched them at an enemy). Minus the poor A.I this game is clearly better than the original. It's not for everyone, but if you liked the original you will love this one. I'd give it an 8.5 if I could.

The only problem I have run across so far is that the camera can be a little wonky. Other than that, this game is better than the first. More colorful, better combat, better AI, better graphics, and a better story.

The story this time around is phenomenal, especially the ending which I would never spoil. Both endings for good and evil pack an enormous emotional punch, and one can tell that Sucker Punch really invested their writers' talents to produce the drama. The only downside is Cole ironically enough. His voice and appearance have been changed for the worse. While SP did modify him after the E3 rage, he doesn't look like the Cole I knew from the first game; Tattoos on his arms are ugly, and his voice was much better in the last game. This previous weekend I played through a good chunk of the original again, and was reminded how smooth the gameplay is and how dead on the controls are. Yes, the enemies tend to have a bit too precise of an aim, but you never feel like you're overwhelmed or in a no-win situation with them.

The graphics are definitely a step up from the original as well, while not losing the fluid, solid 60fps feel of the game. It never hitches in large battles, even given how detailed the world is.

If you enjoyed the original, it goes without saying that you will love this one. If you didn't like the first Infamous, there's probably not a lot here to draw you in, the controls are largely the same, which, for me, is great, since I really enjoyed the controls from the first game. The story, although not perfect, is still more interesting than most games that come out.

Needless to say, I highly recommend the game.

While the last game didn't look bad, its visuals weren't on par with games like Uncharted 2 and Resistance 2. My only big gripe is the voice acting, where at times you can't hear what certain characters were saying due to slurred speech. Fans of the first game should certainly pick this one up. Infamous 2 is third person open world action game set in New Marais. New Marais is a fictional city based on New Orleans. Your character, Cole McGrath, has electrical superpowers. You roam around New Marais using all of your availible powers to defeat all sorts of baddies. You unlock the ability to unleash different electrical powers depending on whether you choose to be good or evil. To use your powers, you aim using L1 and press a button to use the corresponding power. The camera zooms in and looks more like a third person shooter perspective. You have limited electricity to use your powers, but it can be recharged by draining the electricity from a nearby object. No spoilers here, but at a certain point in the game, you can obtain either fire powers or ice powers. Simply put, I love Infamous 2's gameplay. Aside from a few problems, it is nearly flawless. The problems include: the camera occasionally gets a little out of control and that the meelee combat feels a little wonky and bland. But, as far as gameplay goes, it is one of the greatest of this generation.

Graphics - 8/10 (This section also includes sound and voice acting) Infamous 2's visuals are sharp and pretty. The environments are fairly varied for a game set in a city. The game runs at a steady framerate, and the animations are fluid and entertaining. The electrical powers light up the screen and are beautiful to watch. The sound is great. Cole's voice actor has changed from the original game, making him sound less pissed off and angsty than the first game, and it definately matches the less dark mood of Infamous 2 when compared to the original Infamous. Cole wouldn't be able to make the few jokes that he made in Infamous 2 if he still had the gravely voice from the first game. Overall, the other characters are voiced very well. The music does a very good job of immersing the player in the experience. The only problems I have with the visuals and the sound are that the visuals are great, but nothing that pushes the boundries of the ps3 and the same goes for the sound.

    Story - 9/10

The story of Infamous 2 is simply fantastic. Like I said earlier, I will keep this spoiler free. It has happy moments, sad moments, and even a bit of humor tossed into the mix. The side characters, especially Zeke, were developed very well. Both the good and evil paths give slightly different stories throughout the game, but at the end, they give two drastically different endings. Both of them are extremely emotional, and one of them actually made me cry. The one gripe I have with the story is how black and white the karma decisions are. You can find out more about what I have to say here. It should be noted that the story is better enjoyed if you played the first game. This is hard to talk too much more about the story without spoiling anything, so all I need to say is: I thoroughly enjoyed Infamous 2's story, and you will too.

    Replay Value/Length - 9/10

Infamous 2 will take you about 20 hours to complete all of the story and side missions, with about another 5-7 hours to find all of the collectibles such as blast shards and dead drops. You will definately want to play through the game again with the opposite karma, adding on another 25-ish hours. Also, there is a deep UGC mission creation tool. It allows players to make very complex missions, but it is very confusing and there is not real tutorial as to how to use it. There are a few good missions now, and I'm sure there will be more to come, but I doubt it will ever pan out as well as LittleBigPlanet's UGC community. Closing Comments

Infamous 2 is one of my favorite games this generation, much less this year. It is beautiful, lengthy, it has a great story, and above all, it is tons of fun. This is one of the top reasons to own a PS3, and if you don't own a PS3, this should go on to your list of games to play if you ever pick up a PS3. Overall score - 9/10

Although I only did one of ending (the good side), Cole dying at the end was a shocker. It in fact became my favourite game of all time and when I finished it I naturally became hyped for a sequel, and when it was announced I screamed with happiness. The second it came to store shelves I went there and bought it, platinumed it. And how do I feel afterwards? Well now I'm really hoping fora sequel all right, but I think the developers (sucker punch) will do the same mistake like they did with infamous 2 and infamous 1, not in the game itself, but advertising it. They just gave away too much and it really made me go "meh" when I could have gone "Woah" if they wouldn't have said so much about the game in interviewes and all sorts. What I think lacked is that how many opportunities they had but they didn't fully use every single one of them. They could have made some groundbreaking moments in the game that would have really made the gamer excited to see what was coming but unfortunately they don't try as many risks as they did in the first game, and I think video game developers tend to do this a lot, the first game has to be groundbreaking, fresh, new so the public will like it, and when it comes to the second game they can't really risk it due to it might anger some people in the community, like how they decided to change Cole, fans went furios. But that's really what makes infamous 2 not be a masterpiece, it lacks that element of hard work, sweat and teers that the first game had. You felt like you were really playing "the start of something" when you were playing infamous 1, so sadly this really disappoints me. However, I still think this game is one of the best out there and a real refreshment for people who want to try out something new. A must buy from PS3 owner

You progress through the game by doing Story Missions and Side Missions, and depending on your actions you will either become more good, or more evil... You enhance your powers through XP points, killing enemies, capturing the alive or sucking their soul out through their faces, it's up to you, but you get rewarded XP points for whatever you choose, which you can then use on upgrading powers, or getting similar powers, such as a more powerful lighting bolt attack... The game is full of interesting comic-book-esque cutscenes, and "dead drops" which are audio recording strapped to birds' necks, which are optional, but very interesting. inFamous 2 is a direct sequel to the ground breaking game inFamous 1, but there are many changes. The main character is modeled differently and has a different voice actor, and in game you have a new melee weapon called the "Amp" which is a dual pronged lighting rod device that you use to cave in the heads of many henchmen... Other than a few minor technical bugs, such as pop in textures, and sometimes a glitchy enemy, this game run very good. Once you're finished, you can try out the side missions. Some side missions and story missions are exclusive to a certain side of karma, so you might want to do 2 playthroughs for the full story. (but the good story is the only canon one.) If that's not enough, you can collect all of the blast shards which are collectibles hidden around the map.

Still not enough? Make and play UGC missions! This game has great replayability and infinite post game content, at least until UGC servers shut down. I also love the variety of powers you can buy and use to change the gameplay every once and a while. You might want to do a playthrough where you only use a certain set of powers. The game isn't perfect though, as sometimes when climbing on certain ledges Cole might clip into some things, but that's just a visual bug. I tried to think of other bugs, but I couldn't think of any. You probably will encounter more, though.

In conclusion,if you have a PS3,you should probably check this game out.

Most definitely the best of the series! They switched from comic cut scenes to real cut scenes, which I liked. And the story in this game was amazing. If you were as attached to Cole as I had become over the two games, this game was an emotional one. The story was done amazingly, and I barely wanted to quit playing. I loved the lightning, but I liked switching it up.

Getting the fire flying abilities made it much more fun to travel around the city. It made it more fun trans versing the large city.

Continuing after the events of the first game, inFAMOUS 2 is a much improved sequel, both story wise and gameplay wise. There's much more content and stuff to do in inFAMOUS 2. Everything from Story missions, side missions, UGC missions, free roaming, finding collectibles, etc. Leaving you with hours of fun open world fun.

A masterpiece plot, I like the possibility of non-linear passage. You worry about the characters and you can make your own choice. Lots of abilities and a beautiful open world.

This is the right way to do a sequel for sure! It takes everything good about the original and builds on it. The storytelling doesn't feel as rushed and even though the moral choices are a bit A/B, it still makes me want to go back and play through again.

The only bummer is that the only way to play this on current gen systems is through streaming on PSNow, which is a terrible service.

Played it the first time in 2016 and again this year. Much better than the first game.
    One of my favourite games.

Man, the game is pretty good. the story is very well built, with the good and bad endings and the powers give hours of fun mainly in the open world. it's just kind of annoying that after the main story, you almost don't see the militia in the game anymore, just the ice guys practically. but apart from that the game is great!

Beyond any criticism you may have about the game, the game does one thing right. Enjoyability. Infamous games aren't the best Sony exclusive games that exist, but they are truly some of the most fun you will have in an open world game. Going back and playing this game in 2021, I find the game is still a joy to play.

Sucker Punch delivers with its sequel to the great Infamous. Cole is made more interesting and developed well alongside Zeke.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am a huge fan of the first Infamous. It is easily the best super hero game of all time. With that being said, I was a little dissapointed by Infamous 2. With that being said, I was a little dissapointed by Infamous 2. Lets start off with the good. The set pieces are amazing, the powers are great from the start, the voice acting and action is phenominal. So if you like the first game I will tell you that your in luck and you will like this one. But lets get down to the brass tax. This game shorts the player in a few rather large ways. Starters the story, there was no emotional draw in any way. I felt the same by the end as I did the beginning which dont get me wrong by the time I got their a few twists and turns had sprung up. But with the first I was blown away on more than one occasion. Next the enemies, the regular baddies are fine with their ice powers and then the larger titans and so on but the big bosses are pretty much nowhere to be found. I will tell you that you will encounter 2 otherworldly bosses and that is it. The last had at least 3 with the promise of the beast that flat out lets you down in every way. I would like to have seen a little more back story on some new and interesting bad guys but instead we were shunned and left feeling like their could have beeen more. Which brings me to the powers. For the most part there was nothing new to add to the table. Every power was either an extension of an existing one or just a throwaway upgrade. For instance the ice powers, the ice jump, the ice grenade, the ice rocket, all just the same with a few popcycles tacked on to the after effect. I'll stop gripeing but I will leave on this note. By the end of the first game I felt like I had been through an experience, I got what I wanted and walked away with what I needed. This one just left me wishing for more. Great for a quick playthrough, but I would push for a buy. Expand

inFamous 2 doesn't make many missteps. It may lack the polish and big name license of the recent Batman games, but for a solid and dependable superhero videogame, there aren't many more enjoyable and more consistent than this excellent superpowered romp.

Whether you're a fan of the first inFAMOUS or new to the series, the amount of gameplay and riveting story should please all. A few small tweaks to the Move controls would go a long way in improving the overall feel of the game but an absolutely fantastic and worthwhile title nonetheless.

A very good superhero's sandbox. There's a lot fighting, but it's good fighting. A lot of replay potential. The level editor is a worthy bonus, too. [Aug 2011]
