Jan 13, 2011If you miss the good ol' times of Marble Madness and Monkey Ball, look no further. HamsterBall is an enjoyable game with dozens of excellent tracks and different game modes. It's fun and engaging but not flawless: visual style can be awkward at times and physics doesn't really always work like it should. However, for such a low price those are just minor flaws. And let's face it, hamsters are cute.

Play UKIt's a little pricey, but fans of Monkey Ball will be more than happy with this digital substitute. [Issue#194, p.103]
-
There's plenty to nibble at, and for a cent under ten dollars (European pricing and release date still to be confirmed) it's well worth a punt.
-
With its unwisely generic title, Hamsterball doesn't inspire confidence that it's going to do anything more than roll over old ground, and so it proves.
-
A marble maze game like this is based on two things: good physics and good track design. HamsterBall has mediocre both.
