Jan 5, 2012The game has songs from the classic old Guitar Hero titles when the game had only guitar as the instrument remastered into full band play. Game has a great setlist that has everything from alternative rock to metal. Mastering all the instruments takes time but is very rewarding.

Nov 6, 2014It is a really great setlist for a full band, and drums or vocals can't be played on these old Guitar Heroes. The graphics are great on this game, but the good old classic appearance on Guitar Hero 1, 2, 80's and 3 are much better.
Remember that Guitar Hero 1, 2 and 80's don't exist on Playstation 3, so i think it was very positive that they made the Greatest Hits setlist on this console. -

Aug 26, 2020If you've played other Guitar Hero games, you know what to expect. The soundtrack on this one favors heavy metal music over any other genre, especially as you progress to the later stages of the campaign. All of the songs here appeared in previous Guitar Hero Games. I guess that's why they're "Hits".

Smash Hits is certainly not for the die-hard GH fan that probably already has all the releases from which the song list was culled; however, for those who got their feet wet in World Tour, this is a great revisit to songs from earlier releases now configured for entire bands to play.

Smash Hits was just the breath of fresh recycled air that we needed.

Guitar Hero: Smash Hits is an incredibly fun game and one that will definitely keep you entertained until Guitar Hero V arrives.
