Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxSep 4, 2013Grid 2 comes close to perfection, but since nothing or nobody is perfect, we would like to point out a few tiny, little flaws. We miss the cockpit view dearly and the game could have benefited greatly from a dynamic weather system and longer races. [June 2013, p.80]

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJul 12, 2013Grid 2 is a gem of a racer. There’s never been any doubt that Codemasters have the skills and resources to make good looking games with world-class handling, and Grid 2 reinforces that. While its storyline provides reason, the thrilling events are the reason you’re here. [July 2013, p74]

Jun 7, 2013Grid might have been gone for 5 years, but in those years it developed into a truly great and unique racing game. From the wide variety of cars, to the insane level of detail and the great audio, Grid 2 offers something for all racing fans. While simulation racing fans might not prefer the mix with arcade, Codemasters did a an excellent job blending the two styles and making something quite unique.

May 28, 2013A redefined handling system, new cars, more challenges, a compelling multiplayer, strong social features and, above all, a lot of fun. GRID 2 is an enjoyable arcade driving experience, highly recommended for all kinds of motor fans.
-
Jun 9, 2013GRID 2 occupies a weird spot between sim and arcade racer. If you know what you are getting into this is a solid title that doesn't try to break any molds. Online racing a track design could be more compelling though.
-
Jun 4, 2013With a variety of driving disciplines pulled from all corners of the globe, Grid 2 is an exciting blend of arcade and simulation racing.
-
May 28, 2013What GRID 2 does best is not trying to copy any of its rivals. Everything works great and, above all, it manages to always be entertaining.
-
May 28, 2013Codemasters steers further in the direction of pure arcade racing by eliminating posh extras such as cockpit views and set-up options, in favor of spectacular visuals and social features. Oversteering and underdeveloped, GRID 2's driving mechanics still remain quite solid and fully enjoyable by anyone.
-
May 28, 2013I like that Grid 2's multiplayer carrot tastes slightly different than the single-player one, but ultimately the game – apart from the LiveRoutes system – isn't the revelation that I was hoping for. Codemasters has proven that it can deliver a compelling racing experience on the track, but we'll have to keep on waiting for the next big leap forward.

Jun 18, 2013Grid 2 is an entertaining, nicely polished racing game. With many fantastic locales, awesome cars, nicely devised events, and a really attractive presentation, there’s a lot to like.
-
May 29, 2013GRID 2 will be a hit for every fan of arcade racing titles. The game is extremely fun, and relies on several key aspects such as a very well developed gameplay and a variety of different game modes and tracks. Besides all this, the technical aspects are of high quality, giving this title a characteristic look that makes for the icing on the cake in this excellent game.
-
Jun 7, 2013GRID 2 brings a fast and fun racing experience that will keep your appetite in check until the next generation racers get here. Just don't go into it expecting a Gran Turismo-like depth.
-
May 28, 2013Its continued shift away from its sim pedigree will still disappoint those of us who fondly recall the Race Driver games of old, but it still a great, modern package. A well-curated car list, a great sense of speed, and a well-thought out career mode combine in a racer that is a lot of fun to play through.
-
May 28, 2013Lacking its predecessors’ ideas, but a worthy twilight joyride for the Ego engine that nails the white-knuckle speed and screaming tyres like few others.
-
May 28, 2013GRID 2 is not for you if you want extreme realism and simulation. But if you want a fun, nice, well finished and deeper game, here it is. Codemasters has shown that driving is its wonder.
-
May 28, 2013The extensive RaceNet-powered multiplayer mode, in particular, offers an enormous amount of things to do and players to challenge, which should keep fans on the road until the studio's next hotly-anticipated release. Let's just hope we don't have to wait another five years for GRID 3.
-
Play UKJun 24, 2013The odd assist-heavy handling won't be to everyone's liking. [Issue#232, p.76]
-
Sep 17, 2013To be honest, we didn’t quite expected GRID 2. It’s not as refreshing as the first part, but it still offers some spectacular races with amazing controls. Besides that, the multiplayer is of top class level and the audio will make your ears scream for more.
-
Pelit (Finland)Oct 7, 2013Grid 2 feels rushed and unpolished, there is tons of better arcade racing games out there. I'd rather play the first GRID. [Aug 2013]
-
Jun 18, 2013For many, Race Driver: GRID redefined the racing genre, and while GRID 2 hits many of the same beats as its predecessor, it never feels like it's trying to make the same impact. Instead, this is a fairly conservative effort that dismisses simulation driving in favour of adrenaline fuelled racing, resulting in an experience that, while fun to play, is a little safe. In the end, the loss of ‘Race Driver’ in the title says it all – this is a good arcade racer, but in a market already saturated with similar titles, it struggles to find a place upon the grid.
