Available only for a limited time, Gran Turismo HD Concept takes full advantage of the PS3 hardware performance by providing full HD 1080p resolution and next-generation car physics ushering in a new era of racing for the gaming industry. Upon downloading Gran Turismo HD Concept, PS3 users have access to the Eiger Nordwand course and can compete in Time Trial races to collect and unlock new cars. Upon unlocking the initial 10 cars, the player has access to 10 more "Tuned Cars," as well as access to a new driving mode called "Drift Trial." In the "Drift Trial" mode, the player can master the art of drifting and achieve ultimate control of their car. Furthermore, when connected to the Playstation Network, the player can upload their times and view the Top 10 rankings for each car and mode, as well as play and save replays online. In "Time Trial" mode, the player selects a car and must complete the Eiger Nordwand course within the target time indicated at the top of the screen. Each time the player beats the target time, a new car is unlocked and made available for selection. As stated, upon unlocking all of the cars, the player can access tuned cars, along with the option to race Eiger Nordwand in the opposite direction. In "Drift Trial" mode, the players drifting technique is tested, rather than their lap time. The player earns drift points based on their drift angles, racing lines, and speeds within evaluation zones located at various turns on the course. For each evaluation zone, the results are based on the number of flags and a numerical figure. The point total from all zones determines the players drift points for the lap and is counted toward the rankings. [SCEA]… Expand

    Filing microseconds from your best time should keep you amused for the long wait until Gran Turismo 5. If you want to show anyone what the PlayStation 3 can deliver then this is without question your technical demonstration.

    GT is going in a good direction. If they can tighten the AI so the cars aren’t racing in the same line, clean up the catch up AI, add a damage model, and build on the weight physics than "GT5" will be a racing game to reckon with.

Even so, this is a very promising glimpse into GT's future. If Polyphony manages to improve the AI, add online play, and add performance-affecting vehicle damage, GT just might surpass Forza 2 (but somehow, I doubt it).… Expand

Control is good, but a steering wheel (or use of the motion sensors in the Sixaxis controller) is sorely needed. I'm looking forward to the final game.… Expand

Graphically awesome in HD with the most realistic lighting of any game and the best recreation of driving physics anywhere. A great freebie, shame there's just one track... Regarding the 'pay per play' aspect discussed by one reviewer here - a lot of the plans over online charging are back up in the air after GT 'Classic' was cancelled. Let's hope they reconsider, I think the console cost me enough...… Expand

    It's really good for a free demo. This contains 10 cars (if you don't count the tuned versions of cars) and the Niger Short Track, in forwardIt's really good for a free demo. The main mode of the game is Time Trial, which you go and get the best lap time on the track with. You can also unlock a Drift Trial mode, where you drift to score points. The graphics at the time look quite stunning, you can actually see the interior from the outside! However, this game is a bit too similar to the PS2 game, Gran Turismo 4. It has the same tyre noises and there's no interior view (which would be introduced in GT5P). Anyway, it's a decent game and you should get it at any chance, which you can't, as this game has been removed from the Playstation Store.… Expand

    good video but the game is quite crap.
    I downloaded the demo on the ps3 and I admit that the graphics are amazing. but the songs are all    good video but the game is quite crap.
    I downloaded the demo on the ps3 and I admit that the graphics are amazing. but the songs are all classical music which doesn't flow with this type of game. there is only 1 good car to drive which is a ferrari. the cars don't show damage like nfs pro street. it is impossible to drift in drift mode with a fast car because the car either spins out of control giving u no points or the car stops if u go to slow. the main car is the toyota, (the white, green and red one)and for a main car, it is ugly and slow!!!!!    … Expand
