    Blowing away any compitition in spectacular fashion. The ghost of Sparta is tenacious and relentless in this latest installment of Da franchise known as Kratos. This game has it all and is not for the faint of heart, as Kratos rips his way through the crevices if Olympus .If you own a ps3 get this on day 1.     Absolutely EPIC!!!! It hits on all the emotion, excitement, and lust you could possibly want from a game such as God of War. It exceeds expectations and gives yet more reason why Playstation 3 has caught up to the 360 as far as exclusive classics that sell systems.

    It really delivers with extremely upgraded graphics, a quality soundtrack, easy-to-learn controls, varied weapons and powers, challenging battles, enemy diversity, plenty of boss battles, immersive puzzles, a story that ties up the loose ends, and much more. My only gripe is the lack of innovation.

    Absolutely incredible. Production like a Hollywood blockbuster this really cant be touched. Love the combat-almost as much as the cut-scenes which play off each other nicely. Like the subtle changes in gameplay, like after you floor Helios you raise and lower your hand to block out the blinding light. Or when you take out the God with the Icarus boots, you walk towards him at snails pace Absolutely incredible. Production like a Hollywood blockbuster this really cant be touched.     A shamelessly exploitative game, EA have made no effort to accommodate for what was already a significant fan-base, it wouldn't surprise me if the direction they've taken C&C4 succeeds in alienating more people than it attracts. I can understand that the format was getting old (even though I personally still enjoyed it) and that some went so far as to consider it 'dated' - I could even understand it if they had changed the 'old' format in a way which was original and corresponded with the rest of the series. However, the way in which they have so blatantly ripped off Dawn of War and other RTS 'rivals' is unbelievable. I don't even really think that those sort of games are rivals, most of the people I know into strategy games play both, and for different reasons! To make things worse, the only redeeming features that this game actually has are the ones robbed from these other games, which leaves not much to praise in C&C4. I'm sorry Ea, but you've murdered and raped (in that order) a wonderful game. Be ashamed of yourselves.… Expand

    The perfect conclusion to the best gaming trilogy ever made.The visuals are awesome,the music is as always perfect,the gameplay remains the same as it should be,replay value is unique for a game of its genre,and the story is even better than I thought it would be.Not to mention my favorite game intro ever made.Well done Santa Monica!

    The scale is immeasurable. The boss battles are some of the most stunning in the series, with an epic conclusion that will close the door to one of the biggest series in gaming. A challenging and rewarding fast paced ride that never lets go.

It's brutal, it's epic, it's Kratos! An amazing final part in the God of War Trilogy. This is how a sequel SHOULD be made. It's filled with eye candy and the scope is absolutely HOLY CRAP! This is (to me) the BEST 1-player PS3 game yet, one of (if not THE) best action game ever created and these ARE some of the best graphics you have ever seen on a home console. It's brutal, it's epic, it's Kratos! An amazing final part in the God of War Trilogy. This is how a sequel SHOULD be made. It's filled with eye candy and the scope is absolutely incredible. As always, the music is fantastic and puts you in the right mood and the game is so cinematically presented, it is hard to contain without geeking out. The gameplay of the past God of War games was already perfect, but Sony Santa Monica has managed to push the envelope EVEN FURTHER, with all new weapons, all new spells, all new items, all new (and exciting) platforming events and some of the coolest bosses ever, in gaming. And to top it all off, it's a 12-hour long quest with plenty of reasons to come back. God of War III is a non-stop thrilling ride of excitement and the story of vengeance/redemption will have you see it until the end. One of my favourite games for the Playstation 3 and that is saying a lot, considering the fact that I have been gaming for over 13 years and own most of the greatest PS3 exclusives out there (Uncharted 1 & 2, Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank Future, Metal Gear Solid 4, littleBIGplanet, inFamous). If I had to have anything negative to say about this game, it would have to be the fact that the game's box cover art sucks. All the God of War games have awesome box arts of Kratos holding his blades and looking out into the distance. This cover however, is just Kratos' angry eye. That's lame. Other than that, its a very satisfying game and to me, its even better than Bayonetta. Way to go, Sony! Thank you for (probably) the BEST linear, action game of all time.… Expand

Word of warning, play on normal, you get to experience the game in all its glory. Any higher of a difficulty just makes it unbearable and an annoyance to even try.     So I have been playing since around 30 minutes after midnight and I have covered a sizable amount of this game. In short, it is everything we would expect from a finale, great game play and graphics and a truly epic feel to it.     Wow. First 5 minutes and I am already amazed by the games story, gameplay and gore. goriest game by far, but gloriest game by far too. Hands down best PS3 game you can get. So much additional content. 10/10

    After reading many reviews and finally getting my hands on this game - I can honestly say that this game deserves a perfect 10. It's just so fun to play AND that's what Intend to do - over and over again! Did I mention the graphics... there's no other game that looks as good as this!

    Great game with amazing graphics,gameplay and Boss battles if your a fan of the series this game is a must buy. if youve never heard of Kratos I suggest you pick up the GOW collection and start an INCREDIBLE journey. GOW3 is by far the best in the series and Im very sad to see the story end. If you havent picked this game up and you like games I dont know whats wrong with you.

    Amazing.... Very intense.. I like the story telling aspect of this game. In GOW 3, it seems like the game starts from climax from very beginning and the action is really ruthless. Its the stuff fantasies are made of. Superb Gore and blood splattering action Go get it .

The graphics are amazing and can be said to be above those of Heavy Rain or Uncharted 2. The gameplay is typical God of War-style with the light and heavy attacks. Everything is masterfully told from the story to the puzzles and everything in between. The enviroments are loads of fun to venture through and the character animations are top notch, and yes theres a sex mini-game. If your a fan of the series iam sure your all ready heads over heels in love with god of war 3 but it still needs to be said that this game is a fitting conclusion to the legendary reign of kratos.… Expand

Undeniably the gow franchise done for this game genre what gta or wow or modern warefare did for theirs, defined and set the standard. this is a genre with epic boss battles and is a button mash fest with great, no an epic story that many contenders have tried to emulate, conan, darkiders dantes inferno and gow 1 and 2 pushed the envalope on ps2 graphically as did chains of olympus on psp now that kratos has made his way to the next gen consoles graphics and the immense scale of boss fights has again been redefined. Mrking a game down because it plays like its predessessors is like saying gta 4 should be marked down because it plays like prior gta games, this is a pathetic excuse to mark a game down, mark it down for gfx, sound or story or bugs fair enough.     One of the best games I've ever played and one of the best looking games, I have ever seen. It looks better than Uncharted 2 def should be up there with uncharted 2 on metacritic.

    This marvelous game just knocked Uncharted 2 off the top spot of my list of my favorite games. My top 5 games: 5. Metal Gear Solid 4 4. God of War 3. Bioshock 2. Uncharted 2 and for #1.... GOD OF WAR 3!! what a beautiful game with terrific boss fights, massive environments and a truly phenomenal conclusion. Nothing short of EPIC.

    This game is BEYOND stellar! The art is without compare to any other PS3 I've seen. Collision is great, texures are amazing. The animation, real-time and cinematics, are phenomenal. The gameplay all MAKES SENSE! Nothing feels contrived or just there to keep you busy. The Santa Monica Studios team did am outstanding job on this! Well done!!

    So as i look, to my right i see games like, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Modern Warefare 2, Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Assassin's Creed 1&2 MSG 4, Batman Asylum and a lot of other great games. Well my fellow gamers God Of War 3 Blows away the compitition with Superior Graphics, Storyline and a No nonsense Badazz God Kratos destroying everythign in his path. I'm So as i look, to my right i see games like, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Modern Warefare 2, Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Assassin's Creed 1&2 MSG 4, Batman Asylum and a lot of other great games. I'm telling you now that anyone who gives this game anything less than a 10 is an idiot. It's the best of everything a true Gamer would like in a game and the very best for this Generation. So my local Gamestop opens at 10am and i got there at 9:50am and there was a line out the door (about 30 people) I guess they all called out sick from work like i did lol. Of course I pre ordered the Ultimate Edition and If you didnt well, You're an idiot because Pandora's Box looks awesome and is bigger than I thpught it would be.(great place to keep my God of War collection:) Remember If you're thinking of getting this game you're an Idiot! If you're running out the door, tripping on that banana peel and end up in the hospital on the way to Gamestop you're an half idiot. If you make it there get the game and then go have Lunch afterwards before heading home to play, you're a Moran!. If you make it there in one piece , get the game, and come straight home and Play the Greatest Game to this point in time, well you're a Genius:) Hey just to let you in on a little secret! Even Fanboys were on line to pick up a Ps3 and the game lmao. Never thought I'd see the day. I'd like to give a Shoutout to Telegraph who scored Bayonatta above this Game lmao. (look for them on Metacritic reviews at the bottom) where they belong in the basement. Seemed they had to close there comment thread because real gamers caught on to their Bias and called them out! Guess they couldnt handle the pressure. The pressure of seeing GOW take flight and they didn' t have a boarding pass!… Expand

    I honestly couldn't believe my eyes. The graphics are not like anything I've ever seen. You really just can't appreciate how technically advanced this title is without playing it. Saying the graphics and scale are amazing simply doesn't do any justice to what the Santa Monica studio has been able to accomplish.     An undeniable amazing gaming experience that will be remembered for many years to come. Gameplay is fun and addictive. Graphics are better than any other game on the market. Sound and presentation is extremely engaging. Violent, badass fun.

    I'd give it a 10... absolutely great game, even if it's not much of a change from it's predecessors, it's great fun and addictive to play. graphics are amazing, and cut scenes are incredible....

    giving it a 10, Metacritic score is just about right, however uncharted 2 still annoys me being all the way up there.

    God of War III will take around 12 hours to complete, once the single player is done you have the combat arena challenges to play through and you can play custom combat arena games. Theres also hours of videos to watch 'The making of God of War III'. In terms of replayability I've completed it 7 times now, I just can't get enough of this masterpiece of a game. My advice to anyone who owns a PS3 is to get the God of War Collection and God of War III, even if you don't particularly like action adventure/ hack 'n' slash games you will not regret it. There are several reasons why the God of War games are successful: Gore, smooth combat, amazing voice acting/overall sound quality/score, Kratos, graphics, and difficulty. Now what do they do for the sequels? They advance the story (on the psp games backstory), improve graphics, and fix any problems while adding some improvements, and this leads to one of the greatest single-player games of all time in God of War 3. The most a game on max difficulty has killed me is around 30 times (original God of War), when I played THIS game on max difficulty, I died 300 times (no seriously, I counted) on the first boss. THE FIRST BOSS. I loved it. I freaking cheered when I finally beat the first boss, and that's the thing that games should strive for: the feeling of achievement. This game also stepped up in the combat department, with new weapons, improved controls to get your weapons out (the first two games frustrated me whenever I changed the weapons), and changing the locations of quick-timer buttons, as well as adding a BEAUTIFUL abundance of gore. The graphics are jaw-dropping. This is beyond a shadow of a doubt one of the best looking games of all time (behind only Heavy Rain and, based on the trailers, Battlefield 3). The puzzles are complex but one puzzle in particular is just annoying in the musical puzzle. The game only steps it up in the cinematic feel, with the graphics, the always stellar voice acting, and now, scaling the bodies of Titans themselves, especially the Cronus battle, undoubtedly among the greatest boss battles of all time, if for nothing else scale and lack of anticipation, no one saw that coming.     God of war III is the game for the brutal greek in all of us. Its graphics are beyond belief. The bosses are each evicerated with ethusiasm and creativity. Though Kratos may not be the most dynamic of characters... the gameplay overides this fact and allows the player to feel ultimately satisfied by the end of the game.

    This is one of the best games of all time, my personal favourite. It's just so well made, gameplay/graphics/sound are 10/10, and the story is very well written and executed, I love every bit of this 12 hour masterpiece, I shall play it again when I get the time! :P

    I've already beaten God of War III, but some of the levels including challenges are hard to beat. Kratos has gone from Ladies Man to pissing every scum in the universe. Hades, Zeus, and even that backstabbing Athena and Gaia. Best of all, I love God of War III. It's way better than God of War I or II.

It's just packed with action and immersion. It's one of the best PS3 games out there and one of the reasons why 360 fanboys are butthurt.

This game is the hardest in the franchise and I mean that it a good way. Beating this game on it's hardest difficulty was a feat that I wish a got a trophy for (as in a physical trophy). The weapons in this game are actually useful and the combos that are possible in this game are fun as all hell. The graphics are also some of the best on the PS3 and can stand next to Uncharted easily. The fact that his game is as big as it is, has somewhat short loading times, manages to keep a steady framerate, and only takes up about 5mb on your harddrive is an absolute techincal marvel. As for the story, this franchise in general has never been Ray Bradbury good, but they are atleast Illiad good. A simple revenge story isn't a bad thing, it's just simple. If there was any problem with this game it is that a few of the character models could be better, especially when you compare them to Kratos. But even on it's worst day the game looks really good. There is also an odd continuity error in the beginning that most people won't get unless they play through the game really fast (like I did) or catch it on their second playthrough. I loved this game and the issues I have with the game are small (really, really small). I can recomend this game to anyone who owns a PS3, but if you have a PS3 and don't already have this game then I have one question for you: Where the **** have you been?… Expand

The puzzles are on the simple side however, and I mean extremely simple, but the combat makes up for it! . For some reason I could not finish Dante's Inferno, but I played through God of War in 4 days! . Every chance I had at free time I would play it. It is incredibly gory, with 2 scenes where I literally groaned and turned my head away. Graphics are great as well. I am happy I purchased a ps3 this xmas!… Expand

    When i popped the disc and started it up, i was expecting over-the-top action,massive scope and all the bloody gore that can be stuffed into one disc,and for the most part this game lives up to my expectations.the game is massive and the gameplay and graphics are nothing short of awe-inspiring.

    Story: if you have or have not played the previous GoW titles you will be swiftly brought up to speed with the events in the game and the plot is fairly straight-forward. Kratos wants revenge and will stop at nothing to get it, but then again i hardly doubt that the people that are waiting for this are expecting a deep storyline ala Mass Effect 2.

    Graphics: in a word,beautiful.the game made my jaw literally drop! problem is,when there is lighting this game really shines and shows what this game can really do,but whoever decided that a mass portion of this game should be placed in the dark,should be lined up against a wall and shot.the game looks just the same in the dark and there is nothing that really stands out,but when this game wants to,it will blow you away.

    Gameplay: this is the sole reason why God of War 3 is one of the most anticipated games of the year,maybe even decade.this game yet again sets the bar for hack-and-slashers that all so blatantly copy this great game.The problem? the platforming and puzzles. yes it is a change of pace but this game simply was not designed for climbing and carefully jumping from one platform to another, but really im nitpicking right now.

    verdict? it is a great game if you are into hack-and-slashers with a great soundtrack that puts movie scores to shame.if you can overlook slight problems then you are in for a great time and i would definitely recommend this game    … Expand

    This is a masterpiece. Graphics, cut-scenes, characters, everything looks and sounds great. The gameplay feeling is really nice, the best on the hack & slash department. The only downside? GoW III is so amazing that in the end you'll feel like the game is very short. Doesn't matter tho, you can't miss this one.

    Kratos is even more angry this time around and he's ready to make Mount Olympus pay. This game is one of the definitive reasons to own a PS3. It's also one of the best games this generation. The story is great and the gameplay is packed with the insane amount of violence that God of War is known for. Some of the best boss battles of all time are found within this game as well.     I love The God Of War 3 and series!! The day of it's release i bought it. My favorite game of all time, and it deserves that because of it's fantastic game play, graphics and characters are beautiful. The story is also very intriguing :) :)

    Brilliant game, everything about this game is world class.

    Wasn't a big fan of the last boss fight, but this is the only game on PS3 I've gone back to complete multiple times.

    God of War III is easily one of the best looking games of all time. The amount of detail in the environment and on Kratos is unbelievable. If you own a PS3, this game is a must buy for any casual gamer.

Graphics, gameplay, boss battles, and story. The graphics are phenominal, especially the opening scene . The gameplay is fun and the story is good, although I had to read up on it more to fully understand it because I haven't played GOW and GOW2. And the boss battles are epic and unique. It was awesome taking down some of Ancient Greek Mythology's biggest Gods, Titans, and creatures, especially the battle with Cronos. If you own a ps3, you HAVE to buy this game.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An epic conclusion to the God of War trilogy, GoWIII picks up exactly where II left off. Krato has finally completely gone off the deep end now that all the Gods and Goddesses are standing in his way, as far as he's concerned. The game takes a few turns plot wise that you won't expect, several that you will, and some twists will take you completely for a spin.

    The graphics are beautiful and this might be the best example of what the Playstation 3 is capable of visually, there are few games that really try to come near the console's performance limits. The combos are still just as awesome as they've ever been with a God of War game, some of the weapons/attacks/items you'll gain will be really cool. If you like somewhat bastardized Greek Mythology, any of the other God of War games, or a good hack and slash adventure with a few puzzle elements, then you will definitely like God of War III.

    Please play this trilogy in order though to really appreciate that great story telling that Santa Monica Studio provides in these games.    … Expand

    But despite God of War III being afraid of flying too close to the sun -lest those carefully crafted wings should melt- the journey is relentlessly exciting; a blistering spectacle told in blood and thunder. Truly epic, then. And I defy anyone to argue with the definition this time around.

    God of War 3 is fantastic, and has at least three scenes that are utterly magnificent. Design and gameplay-wise, it's absolutely stunning. The downside is that it doesn't have that clear cut perfection that its predecessor had; the polish shine that brilliantly lit up our eyes when we first enjoyed God of War 2.
