Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJan 28, 2013There are more immediate giggles to be had in the Story Mode, which is rib-tickling to wade through, although "wade" is definitely the word. It really just boils down to running around dodging either projectiles or up-close Family Guy caricatures, like angry college guys with deadly melee bongs. Then you either cap 'em or bash 'em, and maybe collect a few things while being funneled towards your next inane but comical goal. [January 2013, p72]

Nov 28, 2012Brian and Stewie are funny and there are plenty of gags, but the gameplay is nothing crazy and the levels aren't super-intriguing.
-
Dec 11, 2012This would make an excellent PSN or XBLA game, and would be worth paying top price for. But as a top price full release game, this should be a lot better.

Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxJan 8, 2013Unfortunately for Back To The Multiverse, success is not always inherited. Whereas Family Guy consistently delivers quality (except for a few hiccups here and there), the game starts exploring the deepest regions of abysmal pretty fast. [January 2013, p.82]

Dec 7, 2012Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse doesn't make the best use of its licence. The humour isn't as funny in this format, and the experience is padded by repetitive fetch quests. Fans of the show may derive some enjoyment out of the in-jokes and multiplayer, but everyone else should avoid at all costs.
-
Dec 6, 2012A game that not even die hard Family Guy fans will appreciate. The jokes and crude humor are taken too far, even for the show's standards. Couple that with drab gameplay and poor controls and you've got a game that should be avoided by most accounts.

Dec 10, 2012Add Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse to the list of licensed games that fail to deliver an experience that challenges, entertains and stands apart from its source material.

Play UKJan 23, 2013With some utterly appalling level design, terrible physics and the aforementioned imprecise controls, Multiverse is one of the worst tie-ins of this generation. [Issue#227, p.78]

PSM3 Magazine UKDec 23, 2012Just an offensive disgrace. [Jan 2013, p.105]
