It's like F1 2013, which is like F1 2012 with extra content. But unlike in F1 2013, extra content was taken away. You're left with same graphics, less content and same old game you had before. 2014 teams & drivers update are not worth of a completely new game (which isn't new to be fair). Should've been a cheap DLC for 2013 game.

This game is without a doubt for the F1 fans. There's nothing new and it plays just like F1 2013 so don't expect anything spectacular. They have added some new tracks and have added the ability to race in the rain which makes this years F1 game stand out a little bit. But if you have F1 2013 there is no need to buy this and if you want to buy an F1 game then don't get this, get 2013 causeThis game is without a doubt for the F1 fans. The F1 2014 game may not be exactly new in anyway but definitely the gameplay is interesting. Featuring the new F1 2014 cars that has turbo charged V6 engine, it is definitely not old in anyway. Furthermore, using the PS3 controller to play this game is also not a bad idea as you can control the car in this game relatively well without trouble as compared to other years of the F1 game. So it will be highly recommended game if you enjoy playing and experience driving an F1 car be it on controller or driving wheels :) Expand

It's a good game. It's slightly more balanced than F1 2013. That's pretty much it. The graphics are slightly worse but the framerate is pretty solid so can't complain there

F1 2014 is an ok game. I knew from the start that this was going to be similar to F1 2013 due to Codemasters working on F1's next gen debut in 2015, but it was still poor to see. For the positives, the new rules for this season are implemented in the game pretty good and the new driving style has made the gameplay of F1 2014 much different from it's past counterparts on that front. The AI is also more aggressive and makes racing them fun, aside from the first lap where they still are too slow and you can take your Marussia from 22nd to about 8th-10th.

However, it's still a far cry from F1 2010 and F1 2011. Still no immersive career, alongside with not being able to choose your own number which was introduced this year and what MotoGP games have been doing since 2001, still the same menu as F1 2013, no classic mode, a pointless scenario mode and temperamental online means F1 2014, although good gameplay wise, is stale and boring. If you want to buy it, go ahead because it's decent, but I'd rather play past F1 games and the rFactor mod that's available.

The game of Codemaster are good. F1 are amazing, BUT, this game is really alike with F1 2013, some things change, but is really expensive this version for this reason I advice it just who want play online mode, but play hardcore way. if you are a casual player, pay for 2013, because 2013 has more things and is more cheap.

Picked this up to get my Formula 1 fix before the new season starts and with it the next gen reinvention of the game. Yeah it lacks the classic content of last year, and is basically the same game, but it's bridging the gap since code masters are putting all their effort into the PS4/ Xbox One versions. But the reason I have given this game a 7 is because this is as far as the PS3, which I have been playing it on, can go with regards to graphics etc. obviously it's going to be disappointing for all the next gen users out there, such as myself. But as long as you are an F1 fan, this is the only game you will need... Until March/ April time... Expand

F1 2014 is everything people hate about annualized sports games. Not just a carbon copy of the 2013 model, but also a game that fails to capitalize on some of the biggest changes the sport has ever seen. Worst of all, many of the franchise's best features have been removed. It's clear this was an afterthought as the developers worked on the truth next-generation sequel.

The quintessential "barely trying" annual sports entry. [Christmas 2014, p.95]

The power unit mechanic offers too little an incentive to re-buy what is essentially a lesser F1 2013. [Christmas 2014, p80]
