For every moment of epiphany, wide-eyed with an awareness of a resolution, there's an equal number of blunderingly hapless wins, falling or jumping accidentally to new and advantageous positions. [June 2008, p.89]
  2. Worse for the game's long term prospects, the ability to toss yourself round corners and into awkward spaces is too difficult to master, because even with the ability to change camera rotation speed, precision is difficult to attain.
  3. It's cool, confident and well made, and occasional clipping snag aside it's a clever little game, but it's as minimal it looks and probably the single most niche PSN game available right now.

No-one’s going to argue over a couple of quid really, and if you’re looking for a lateral thinking puzzler, there can be no doubt that Sony has brought another unique product to the ever diversifying PlayStation Network. Just try not to fall off the edge.

Good idea but it's not as clever as it likes to think. No one likes a smart arse. [July 2008, p.82]

While, the music is relaxing, the game is not. I bought this game to relax, but the experience was just frustrating and for the wrong reasons. The controls just did not seem responsive and to work as intended. Could have really been a great game with better design and more polish. Full Review »

None comes first, none is background. The graphics are simple, and, yet, disturbingly complex, for what you see it is the single aspect of the game. What you see is what exists, and what I see in Echochrome is absolute Greatness. 10 dollars for all that fun and inteligent gaming is a real bargain. Full Review »
