Apr 29, 2013As it is now, Dragon Fantasy Book I is an enjoyable experience that will sit well with those looking for a decent throwback to earlier RPGs.
-
Apr 25, 2013Dragon Fantasy is an unimaginative and dull adventure from days when we only imagine games were better. Even fans of retro JRPGs should put Dragon Fantasy pretty low on their to-play lists.

Apr 30, 2013As a longtime JRPG fan, I appreciate the irony. I can’t count the number of times I’ve defended the genre from people claiming it’s a mindless exercise of mash-X-until-you-win, but throwbacks like Dragon Fantasy don’t make the stigma any easier to dispel. Games like Cthulhu Saves the World and Anodyne show us that it’s possible to celebrate classic genres while still employing interesting design.
