Play UKDec 29, 2010An excellent little racer. [Issue#200, p.103]
-
Nov 22, 2010Despite its flaws, for $10 (or $8 for PS+ members), this isn't a bad deal since the core game is still a blast to play and replay thanks to its addictive nature. The loss in licensing doesn't hurt as much as one might think, and despite over a decade passing since the game's initial release, its gameplay has stood the test of time.
-
Nov 24, 2010Whilst it may not be quite the looker it was back in the GD-ROM days, it still plays well enough to warrant the £7.99 asking price it sits in the PSN store at, even if eventually it becomes same-old, same-old.
-
Nov 23, 2010The game play is simple if not addictive and will provide hours upon hours of game play fun, even if each game will last you anywhere from 5 to 10 min a piece.
-
Nov 29, 2010It's a little overpriced, too, pushing the game out at a bargain price would have been a much better idea so the game becomes an instant impulse purchase.
-
Nov 28, 2010Despite some of the sound issues, Crazy Taxi still looks great, plays great, and is sure to get everyone from the hardcore to the casual involved.
-
Nov 28, 2010Crazy Taxi has a great design and lots of challenges, but Sega should have put some extra work into the driving physics.
-
Nov 24, 2010The trouble is, after half an hour you'd be wondering why you got so excited in the first place, switching shuffle back on swiftly.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKFeb 16, 2011The added HD treatment is a bit of a disappointment though. [Jan 2011, p.118]
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJan 25, 2011Obviously, after eleven years the visuals haven't fared so well either. Back in the pre-GTA days Sega's take on San Fran was drool-worthy. Nowadays it's like driving through a bad cubist nightmare. Newer gamers who go in expecting some of the modern creature comforts – like traffic AI, lip synching or a physics system that makes a lick of sense – will be slapped in the face with a culture shock. Anyone who doesn't want their objective arrow to act like a broken ouija board won't like this game much either. [February 2011 p81]
-
SpazioGamesJan 9, 2011It's Crazy Taxi as you already know it: if you've already played it, there's no reason at all to spend more money for the same deal.
-
Dec 20, 2010Crazy Taxi keeps all the good things that made it so fun ten years ago. It is a good arcade driving game, but Sega has missed the chance to offer improvements, new features or just a little enhancement to foster it.
-
Nov 29, 2010The controls and graphics have not aged well, but underneath it all, it is still fun to earn some crazy money.
-
Nov 29, 2010But the goal of a port whose appeal is laden in nostalgia is to bring that nostalgia on board, and unfortunately it's very apparent what is missing in this game.
-
Nov 19, 2010The essence of Crazy Taxi is still here and, at its core, this is still an enjoyable game. It just isn't going to satisfy anyone who cared at all for SEGA's final gaming console.
-
Jan 1, 2011Crazy Taxi is a nice bit of fun but can't really hold up as a straight port after all these years.
-
Nov 22, 2010Crazy Taxi is not a bad game if you take it for what it is. It is designed to provide an entertaining experience a few minutes at a time.
-
Nov 29, 2010This isn't how nostalgia is supposed to feel.
-
Nov 29, 2010Reviving Dreamcast games for the HD generation should involve a little more effort than putting out a slapdash port of the original.
