Nov 26, 2011Carnival Island is great family fun and an awesome way to experience the PS Move. With so many games and game variations, and so many rewards, prizes, and balloons to unlock, kids and their parents will find countless hours of wholesome entertainment waiting inside this magical playground
-
Nov 28, 2011Carnival Island does exactly what it claims to on the box: it offers a compelling (and challenging) set of carnival-themed mini-games, a light story and offers the perfect all-ages showcase for the Move. If you have a Move, you want this game.
-
Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxJan 2, 2012If you are an adult, you have to be in a really good mood to survive all this over-the-top happiness. But it is however a wonderful game to play together with your kids. The minigames are challenging, but easy enough to be enjoyed by players of all ages. [December 2011, p.86]
-
Nov 23, 2011The combination of brilliant Move-controls and funny mini games makes Carnival Island one of the best partygames on the PlayStation 3 this year. The visual aspect is very nice and in spite of the loading times and the rare crash, Carnival Island is worth buying.
-
Nov 16, 2011Carnival Island is actually quite a bit of fun and makes nice use of the precision PS Move controls. If you have kids or are looking for an enjoyable, family friendly experience, it's worth checking out.
-
Games Master UKDec 17, 2011It's a huge selection of sideshow attractions that makes good use of the Move controller's amaze-o-tech. [Jan 2012, p.90]
-
Nov 18, 2011Quite possibly the best mini-game compilation title I have played on any platform, Carnival Island does a great job of catering to a younger audience but simultaneously keeps things interesting enough for older gamers.
-
Nov 22, 2011Long loading times, game crashes and framedrops are rather annoying, but other than that you will have a good time with this family game.
-
Jan 3, 2012This carny simulator's as simple as can be-but it's surprisingly fun and definitely helps bolster the Move's casual appeal.
-
Dec 22, 2011A collection of mini games with controls that actually works great. After a few hours a lack of content might be noticed, but this game is one of the best implementation of the Playstation Move controller yet.
-
Dec 19, 2011In the end, this is one of the better mini-game collections for the PlayStation Move and if you're playing it solo, most gamers will easily be able to finish the title in a few hours.
-
Dec 12, 2011Unlike a lot of hastily thrown together minigame collections, Carnival Island seems well thought out – it even has a story mode. The 35+ game modes will surely have at least one that will appeal to almost any gamer, and the cute collectable pets will keep the collectors happy.
-
Dec 7, 2011Quite an enjoyable, beautiful and nicely crafted Move game for kids. The motion controller of Sony needs more games like this one.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKDec 3, 2011Does a tidy job of recreating familiar sideshow attractions. [Christmas 2011, p.109]
-
Dec 9, 2011As it stands, Carnival Island isn't that bad of a minigame compilation. It looks and sounds fine, and the controls are exactly what one expects from a Move title.
-
Jan 13, 2012It's colorful mini-games and fascinating visuals will surely satisfy youngsters, but if you're not among them you should consider looking elsewhere.
-
Dec 10, 2011Overall, the game is too short, even for a minigame, but each minigame is rather enjoyable – especially for younger children.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Nov 26, 2011Carnival Island is extremely easy, but with a projected audience of families with young children, this is understandable. [Holiday 2011, p.79]
-
Nov 15, 2011An inviting mini-game compilation that gets a lot right. Its slick PlayStation Move implementation is a stark reminder of the device's potential, and the entire package is buoyed by a strong art direction and a good variety of activities. Sadly it's let down by a poorly thought out interface and some inexplicable loading issues.
-
Nov 11, 2011If you're over twelve years old, it's just another mini game collection as we know it. Younger players will have their share of joy with Carnival Island, but not too long, either.
-
Play UKJan 9, 2012Inoffensive, shallow, sometimes fun but nothing that will engage over a long period of time. [Issue#213, p.92]
-
Nov 19, 2011Anybody who has played any other motion-based carnival adventure, however, will find nothing remarkable at play with this one -- not unless they really want to see animated raccoons screaming incomprehensible drivel at them.
-
Dec 12, 2011Carnival Island uses the Move-controllers in a great way. So it is too bad that the developers seemingly ran out of ideas after creating just a few minigames.
-
Dec 2, 2011Overall Carnival Island is something of a disappointment. Its position as a budget game does go some way to excusing the rather thin content within, but its biggest problem is that the content that it does have just isn't very compelling or interesting.
-
Nov 3, 2011Your children are in the mood for a get together at the carnival? This is the perfect title. In this magical atmosphere, there are dozens of little events such as rifle shooting or mini-bowling and basketball, as well as tickets to spend on balloons and other accessories. The PS Move controls are very accurate and the game is fun... but not for longer than an afternoon, given its lack of variety and really deep gameplay.
