The biggest plus about the game was supposed to be the run feature where you can run past or jump over items in the environment. You rarely if ever use it. I am not that huge online player so this aspect didn't appeal to me at all. You empty a clip into someone and they keep coming. Seriously a full clip. This is what I hated about Borderlands. Yeah this game is awful.

this game is a disappointment. the campaign is another forgettable joke and the guns just don't do it for me. there are just way too many awesome fps out there to waste my time with this so i will likely return this game before psn ever comes back on.

Brink is a case of: "Hey, that's a bag of great ideas, there!" Except they've stuffed them all into one game, and the execution of the ideas is really poor. The single-player drags it down further with bots that ignore their duty as medic, run into walls, and generally act less intelligent than the old Quake II bots. I haven't seen AI that poor in a game for a long time. Then there's theBrink is a case of: "Hey, that's a bag of great ideas, there!" I haven't seen AI that poor in a game for a long time. Then there's the parkour system, which is very selective in regards to what it allows you to parkour with. You have two things that look identical? One might allow a parkour dash over it, one might not. It's a mess, really. It's good ideas weighed down by **** execution and having too many ideas in there in the first place which would've been better saved for other, better games, and superior developers. The sad thing is that they executed so many "game-changing" idea so horribly that this could've been a great title if it wasn't for all of it's setbacks. The controls are tight and the traversing the environment is a joy, but playing the game is a frustrating bore. AI is a non-threat the entire time unless they outnumber you 3-1, and MP is impossible to enjoy with half of the onscreen characters being bots. Final verdict... just don't... sorry bethesda, I love you but you should've delayed this one and perfected it some more. Expand

I hate caning games because i can appreciate they are hard to make and time consuming and the people that make them genuinely care about the product. This is diabolical to the point of tedium. Online/ offline its the same and its got some great ideas that are hampered by unsatisfactory game play and a stodginess that seems dated.

This game was pretty bad. I wouldnt say the worst game made but it was an unfinished game with many flaws. Its like a mix between quake wars and left 4 dead with state of emergency ps2 graphics. Really disspointed

A very un-inspiring game for me, unfortunately. I had my sights set on this game for a while now and to be honest I wasn't expecting to be so disappointed by it. So why did I put it away after roughly three hours of playtime and haven't touched it since ? well, its just.... blunt and boring for lack of better words. I can't relate to the characters, the maps invariably funnel into a middle choke point, and the lack of a campaign means you never get to really immerse yourself into the story (by the way, what story??). Bots are stupid as hell and imho the mix of bots and humans is a bad idea - a bot does not replace a human, no matter how many times SD said so in the interviews, really (even more so when the AI is dumb as hell). I gave it to my kid and he wasted even less time on it, so this one's probably going back. Expand

    One word review: Terrible.
    Two words: REALLY terrible.
Oponents are too hard to kill whilst your character is far too easy to kill, no cover system apart from crouching makes even the single player game seem like a very badly designed online multiplayer.
Hectic, with some nice design work but this doesn't compensate for the other failings.

Brink is essentially a crappy mash up of Call of Duty and Team Fortress. The lack of people online means you're likely to be stuck playing with bots which are horrendous and boring to play with.

Brink is by far one of the worst games I've ever purchased. Picked it up from k-mart for 30$ believing I may have purchased a decent game reading some of the reviews. I was seriously misled. I don't know anyone else who has wasted their money on this game so I couldn't say much more on that. The character models look awful too. Everyone looks deformed it's laughable I don't know what the hell this company was thinking. Voice acting is so bad and incredibly annoying hearing that Jamaican voice every time you fail a mission that I had to turn the volume of my TV all the way down and there are no subtitles unfortunately. This game is terrible don't waste your money on it. It's a joke that something like this could be released, and its an even bigger joke that this piece of garbage got mediocre reviews. Expand

My biggest criticism is that every single (EVERY SINGLE) mission has a time limit. While this does at times add to the intensity of the game, I detest time limits with a hatred so pure and intense that it is inconceivable to the mere human mind. Generally I find them more enraging than anything else. I do thoroughly enjoy reward-based RPG games, and while Brink allows for character upgrading, I'd recommend Borderlands as a far better substitute. With endless guns, missions, enemies and possibilities it would almost be unfair to compare the two. Also, RPG games generally allow for open-world exploration, Brink doesn't really offer that in the same way that Fallout or Borderlands or Dead Island do. However, Brink isn't all bad. The character customisation is something I think we should see more of. I can quite happily spend over an hour pimping out my character to look increasingly menacing. I especially enjoyed customising the rebels. This is one area where Brink excels at. Overall Brink is a decent game, it's pretty fun to play even if it is quite short. If they ever do bring out a second one I probably wouldn't buy it Expand

It frustrates me even to write this review, because the game is so bad, unfinished and in some way repulsive. Stay away from it as far as possible, the development studio should purge everyone who worked on this disjointed mess. Expand

Good overall gun selection. HORRIBLE COMPUTER TEAMMATES. Objective is on one side of the map and the team is always somewhere else. This game was clearly unfinished. Splash Damage put in LOADS of cool ideas; but sadly, none of them work! The customisation is very good, but other than that, it's just your boring, faceless, plotless shooter. Seriously, there is NO plot whatsoever. Also, it has some of the worst multiplayer lag I have ever seen! Two words: STAY WAY!
