Long review - Blood Stone is far from bad! It does many things right, a few things wrong, and a few things are not done at all. I'll elaborate.
Firstly, the game has a good mix of all out guns blazing action to stealthy and sneakier approach to a few missions and it has amazing driving sections which are actually sometimes more fun than the rest of the shooting sequences. The shooting is fun and the guns feel right! Getting headshots is pretty easy and well, satisfying! There is no melee in this game, but there definitely are plenty of takedowns, hand-to-hand that is.
But the thing here with the shooting is that its just not PERFECT as the rest of the games that have come out! The feel that you get is good, but not as satisfying as say in, Uncharted 2 or even Bourne Conspiracy for that matter! Moving onto the driving. Its the best part about the game according to me. And I'm not surprised since its by Bizzare Creations! It has amazing and intense moments and is fun till the end!
Now here is the complaint. James bond is about the gadgets, this game has ONLY the cell phone as the gadgets! I miss those Everything or Nothing days. That game had the perfect balance of shooting and driving and usage of gadgets! I was expecting the same from this game but was dissapointed over there!
Keeping that complaint aside, the gameplay is fun and pretty good.
The story is classic worldwide conspiracy Bond style. Nothing new here and nothing old. Its hard to care about the characters though. Its just all about Bond. The graphics are not revolutionary, but they aren't bad as well. The cutscenes look kind of stiff, but the gameplay is pretty smooth ad the framerate is constant and there are no other complaints regarding the graphics The game manages to pull of nice lighting and facial details. The animation can be clunky but that can be forgiven. The vistas in the game are pretty good. The variety of locations is a bonus to the graphics, although sometimes it can be bland and dull. But the other effects, such as snow falling or explosions, etc. look pretty good. There is a lack of destructible environments in the shooting sections though. The car sequences have a total opposite of that. Not one moment is peaceful and destruction free in the car segments!
So all in all, in short this game is no Everything Or Nothing of the Next-gen consoles, but its the best Bond game for this gen of consoles none the less!
Forgive the flaws and you have a nice fun rent. For James Bond fans, a purchase is a must. Its pretty fun when the action kicks in.

    I. Liked playing this game. I am not sure if its because it was a good game, or because it was James Bond. The opening scenes get your blood boiling as most James Bond games and Movies do. Even the normally boring part of walking around using gadgets to break codes was exciting to me. The story was very predictable. Joss stone would have never been my choice for a bond girl. Although the cars you get to drive were awesome, I would have liked to drive a motorcycle (just me). That said it was still a good game. In reality though the simple fact that its a James Bond game automatically gives it 5 points in my review. The good graphics and the modest length of the game add to its quality. That's why I give it a 7 out of 10 Expand

I wouldn't call Blood Stone a driving game or a shooter, it's more like an interactive Bond experience. Is it a good game? Yes! Would I recommend a purchase? If you really like James Bond then buy it, otherwise it would make a good rental for a day.

Theoretically a proficient third person shooter with some racing sections as well. It has a decent balance between sneaking and shooting, and it plays as hectic or as calm as the player wants it to. To put it briefly, I'd say that James Bond - Bloodstone deserves a 10 from me. Why? Because it's good fun. The story is enjoyable, the action is great, especially the stealth, and it can be challenging at times, especially on harder difficulties. It tries to be moderately original, and doesn't overload on gadgets. Go buy it if you like Bond games; this one's good.

Visually its not on par wit the God of War or Uncharted's of the gaming world but its far from the worst graphics on offer. Story is decent enough and a typical Bond trying to prevent another international crisis and some off the missions are immensely entertaining as the game offers a mixture of stealth, all out gunfights and ofcourse the driving. Gameplay is smooth enough but the driving sequences are far more enjoyable than the shooting, Bizarre has done a grand job on that front. The shooting in truth is not that bad, its just not great. Blood Stone is developed by Bizzare Creations, which is now closed down, and published by Activision. The game utilizes a 3rd person view, like in 007: Everything or Nothing released a few years back. The story is completely original, again, like Everything or Nothing.

007: Blood Stone is a mixed bag in the graphics department. The character models look bland and boring, along with simple environmental things such as bushes and greenery. When it comes to the car models, boats and other objects, the game shines. Effects like sparks and explosions are big pluses as well, they just look really good. The environments as a whole look great as well. There are many different types of locales boasting snow, rain, sunshine and so on, in which all have different seasons, making for a diverse experience when traveling from level to level.

The sound in 007 Blood Stone is pretty average. The gun fights are all pretty bare bones and the music is hit or miss, depending on which part of the game you’re playing. The best part of the sound in Blood Stone is the voice acting, which include all the series likenesses such as Daniel Craig and Judi Dench, as well as new Bond girl, Joss Stone. Having the real voice actors really makes the game feel genuine. The gameplay in Blood Stone is very simple and easily accessible for all players. The game gives you the choice of four difficulty levels. Gun play is pretty simple as well, using it’s own unique targeting system. There are many types of gameplay here, including epic shoot outs, intense car chases and a downright fun boat chase. There are also elements of stealth which are pretty entertaining as well. The controls are well done but nothing ground breaking. Overall, Blood Stone does a good job of keeping things simple, but at the same time, it does nothing new and fresh, making it feel a bit stale in the gameplay category.

All in all, 007: Blood Stone is another decent entry in the James Bond series. It doesn’t bring anything new to the table, but it offers one thing, and that’s entertainment. To be completely honest, I had a blast playing through Blood Stone. I enjoyed the simple gameplay, fun shootouts, car and boat chases, gorgeous scenery and the story line. The sad ting is, it’s all been done before in the series, and there needs to be a change. There have already been talks of a sequel coming soon, so hopefully the developers can create a new Bond experience that’s fresh and unique. For what you get in Blood Stone, I think it’s worth a purchase, simply because it’s good old, action-packed James Bond entertainment, so check this one out, especially fans of the franchise.

Blood stone is probably the best james bond game I've played since Everything or Nothing on the ps2. It's got solid shooting mechanics, a well done melee system, as well as vehicular set-pieces (which I thought could have been more of). The story itself could have been made into a full length bond film. I've probably beaten this game so many times to the point where I just lost count. Most important is the gameplay and in that department the game is a bit flawed. The shooting is fun but not great and the few times you get to drive a car are very linear and it's hard to keep the car on the road. The driving part could have been so much better and should have been used more often to bring more variety to the game.

The game is very linear and you can't really chose how to take on the missions or which way to go. If you are still in doubt you can always use your handy cellphone which shows you were the next objective is situated. There are no other gadgets in the game, which is a bit weird for a James Bond game.

Blood Stone is a very mediocre game and will probably only appeal to true Bond fans. It starts very nicely with the spectacular scene on the yacht, followed by a great chasing scene by boat. But after that it felt like i was just playing mission after mission to get to the end of the game. I hope this time I will have the courage to finish the whole game instead of laying it down and put a Bond movie on.

An underrated Bond game. It's the "Everything or Nothing" of the Daniel Craig era. The cutscenes and presentation gives this the feel of a 007 movie. Shooting mechanics are solid and the driving sections are splendid. However, the level design is too linear and the action can become a little repetitive. Still, this is a must have for Craig fans. It's fun. I would rate it with a 7.4 out of 10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. James bond has had plenty of great video game outings and i certainly have fond memories of playing nightfire and everything or nothing in my child hood but after the ps2/gamecube/xbox gen the James bond games struggled in quality most likely due in part to the publishers switching from EA to Activision. i enjoyed my time playing bloodstone but i can easily say its the worst bond game iv played . keep in mind i have not played all the james bond games.

Story: the story is really forgettable to the point where i don't remember the main villains name and i only beat the game last night . its campy like the roger moore versions of bond mixed with the seriousness of Daniel Craig's and that just didn't blend well for me. on top of some awkward lines the story is kinda a mess. ending with a plot twist that was not needed or made any sense. in the movies bond and m seem to have a closer relationship and care for one another and in this game it just feels like Judy Dench just seems like the stereotype of an angry boss in this game
    story: 2/10

world building: this being a movie video game is no excuse to not add to the lore of the series , starwars has been doing it for years across many different mediums. and other bond games have built upon the movies lore before. there is one moment where bond is talking to another country's Representative and he acts like bond and mi6 do this all the time witch was a small but nice touch
    worldbuilding: 2/10

graphics: bloodstone despite being on the ps3 looks way worst than nightfire except in the driving sections for some reason the driving sections in this game seem to have an increase in quality compared to the shooting sections witch is odd because those driving sections in bond games are usually the worst part . i suppose it could look much worst .
    graphics: 4/10

Game play: the game play in bloodstone is fast paced and mostly fun , overall the game mechanics are adequate , i enjoyed having to use cool stylish and decently animated take downs to get more focus shots was a nice fun game play loop , the action set pieces are fun and satisfying. the gun play is meh at best in the middle id say . not very much variety in the guns and that made the game feel a little flat cause i basically just used the mp5 the whole game and occasionally picking up another automatic gun . and the shot guns are a joke .
    gameplay: 5/10

Sound design : previous bond games have done really well with sound design and especially with the music because that theme song is so iconic as well as the added bonus of some games having the real actors voice their characters, blood stone has a good open theme song in the same style as all the other bond theme songs. the voice acting was mediocre , Daniel Craig sounds like he has a cold in this game , i know hes actually British but he sounds like an american doing a bad British accent. witch is strange because he in the movies as one of the coolest voices bonds ever had . the guns sound mediocre , the explosions are mediocre and besides the opening them the music is pretty forgettable

The story is also passable and doesn't really add too much, but rather serves as a vehicle for the game-play to prop itself onto. And that game-play is where we get plenty of the hit and miss. The shooting can be fun, with some nice little stealth mechanics thrown in. But everything in between, such as the exploration or driving sections are a sure fire miss. The cover based shooting is pretty smooth and responsive, while driving is the complete opposite.

Overall, this title is just ok. It's a nice little addition to the 007 franchise, but doesn't add much to the third person shooting genre. Plenty of better games out there.

Multiplayer is pretty limited in variety, all team-based, and with a fistful of maps. Couple this annoyance with the fact that the rest of the game doesn't attempt to raise the bar in any way – and only lasts a paltry five hours – and Blood Stone starts to feel like a very pedestrian shooter. Honestly, we doubt even Xenia Onatopp on herbal Viagra could squeeze thrills out of this short ride. [January 2011 p79]
