Sep 3, 2011Overall, it's a very solid game. The Dynasty Warriors formula has carved out a niche, so they could have done much worse. I wish there were more things to do, but if you're a completionist you'll easily get your money's worth.
-
Aug 2, 2011Bleach may be a short experience in story mode, but there are plenty of other things to do in the game that could easily last you 10 to 15 hours. The combat, while satisfying, can become tiresome.
-
Oct 4, 2011Bleach is an amazing Manga and Anime with a massive story and very deep characters that don't quite fitinto a hack'n'slay game. Nonetheless, Bleach: Soul Resurreccion is a solid game with nice graphics, amazingly fluid controls and is great fun to play.
-
Aug 3, 2011Though Bleach: Soul Resurreccion is undoubtedly a fun game, it does not live up to its potential, and could have been much better overall.
-
Jul 28, 2011If you're up for some simple fun, Bleach: Soul Resurreccion might be worth a look. But you won't be missing the experience of a lifetime if you decide to pass on it.
-
Sep 8, 2011Not a bad game. It's a game for fans that's both short on story and fairly limited in scope. What there is, is okay, although it gets repetitive fairly quickly.
-
Sep 7, 2011Fun for a Bleach fan such as myself. Players who are not Bleach fans will not enjoy the game nearly as much as the back story is completely MIA.
-
Aug 8, 2011If you are a passionate Bleach fan, then by all means you should check out Soul Resurreccion. Otherwise, proceed with caution; under the pretty graphics lies a repetitive experience that only Bleach fans will likely appreciate.
-
Aug 5, 2011A competent action slash-fest, loaded with tons of great enemy and character design, impressive animations, and an accessible, moderately rewarding combat system. But the backdrops are just too bland and uninspired, the repetitive nature of the gameplay gets tiresome, and that accessibility borders on tedious simplicity.
-
Sep 22, 2011The fans of Bleach will get a kick out of Bleach: Soul Resurrección, for while at least. Anyone else need not bother with it.
-
Aug 18, 2011Overall, Bleach: Soul Resurreccion isn't very good. It's not an awful game, but the Mission mode is the only thing that salvages an otherwise lackluster action title.
-
Play UKSep 16, 2011It's not that bad. It's not great, but Bleach is a game that you could happily waste a couple of hours on. [Issue#209, p.94]
-
Oct 19, 2011You have to figure out whether or not you find the Bleach universe interesting, because that interest needs to be there lest you grow tired of the simple combat system, the limited amount of backgrounds, the confusing story and the levels that quickly begins to repeat themselves.
-
Sep 21, 2011Quotation forthcoming.
-
Aug 31, 2011It's a game dedicated to fans of the anime and no one else. A shame for the repetitive missions, a flaw that even the fans will suffer.
-
Aug 22, 2011I can't help but feel slightly frustrated when summarising my time with Bleach: Soul Resurrección. It's an enjoyable game, wrapped in solid gameplay mechanics, but is let down in several areas. The fact it can be finished so soon is very surprising, although not as surprising as the lack of online (or even offline) multiplayer, bearing in mind it worked so well for the latest Naruto game.
-
Aug 15, 2011It's just a little too shallow for comfort.
-
Aug 5, 2011I had a fairly good time with Bleach: Soul Resurreccion. I never really knew what was going on in the story, and the button mashing destroyed my hands, but it was an enjoyable, mindless romp in a really pretty anime world.
-
Aug 2, 2011Bleach: Soul Resurreccion would benefit hugely from multiplayer, especially co-op or a versus mode, but no such addition exists. Even if you're a Bleach fan, just rent it and have a fun afternoon releasing your Bankai.
-
Sep 10, 2011In the end, as previously mentioned, Bleach: Soul Resurrecion is a lot like the actual show -- it's got some great fights and awesome moments, but it also has its share of filler. In this case, the filler is the mind-numbingly simple act of running in a straight line to the map in the top right corner of the screen, killing everything in sight, and then doing it again.
-
Aug 3, 2011Vibrant visuals are undermined by repetitive combat.
-
Oct 10, 2011It is a title that offers little content, but it can be a long experience if the player wants to improve his favorite character to the limit.
-
Sep 23, 2011Die-hard fans of the anime can feel free to throw an extra [10 points] onto the final score, but with repetitive cannon fodder enemy types, a nonsensical plot and some of the blandest and most repeated ad nauseum backgrounds I've ever seen in a video game, it's hard to justify going any higher. A little more care could have really made a difference. Pity.
-
Sep 21, 2011Bleach: Soul Resurrección could have been a much better game than a clone of Dynasty Warriors: its disjointed, repetitive levels pay no respect to the complex plot and characters written by Tite Kubo and newcomers will understand nothing out of them while fans will probably enjoy just the very good visuals and fanservice and get bored quickly with its dull gameplay.
-
Sep 13, 2011Far far away from the Ultimate Ninja Storm quality standards. Japan Studio production lacks in variety, combat system functionality and grapics. In other words a complete delusion.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKSep 5, 2011Repetition limits the fun. [Oct 2011, p.115]
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Aug 25, 2011At least fans of the anime will love playing as their favorite characters; the game's not deficient, just generic. [Oct 2011, p.82]
-
Aug 2, 2011A game that, while technically sound, doesn't have near enough content to draw in the average player. Add in the fact that there are really only 3 environments in the game and it can be beaten in under 4 hours, and you have a recipe for a perfect weekend rental.
-
Aug 1, 2011Is it fun to play for a few hours? Sure, but the novelty is bound to wear off due to all the repetition. As fun as it is to abandon the role of observer and actually jump into controlling your favorite character, not much here feels all that exhilarating.
-
Aug 15, 2011It's disappointing to see the quick and dirty license-based games reappear from days of yore. I'm sure Bleach fans will be all too willing to forgive this game's numerous shortcomings, but everyone else should stick to more intelligent fare.
-
Aug 15, 2011It's just a game that goes past mindless to dull.
-
games(TM)Oct 18, 2011Bland gameplay and weak narrative implementation. [Nov 2011, p.106]
-
Sep 23, 2011Quotation forthcoming.
-
Sep 17, 2011A licensed game that tries to emulate the Dynasty Warriors formula, but fails rather miserably. Gorgeously animated celshaded characters are not enough to lift up the repetitive hack and slash formula and the more than slightly nonsensical storyline. The fighting system is fun, but extremely limited, and can be stimulating for a few hours, but after you've had your fill there really isn't much incentive to pick it up again.
