    The sheer amount of unlockables and additional content ensure that you'll have plenty to uncover. Extend might not be original, but it is built upon the best.

    Without a doubt the best and most expansive BlazBlue out there, but we still expected a little bit more content. If you already have dowloaded all the DLC for Blazblue's previous outing, there's only one extra character two new modes. [April 2012, p.94]

    If you're a fan of fighting games, you will absolutely love BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend. It has a ton of modes, it looks beautiful and it even has a good storyline. However, the lack of content is what will stop people who have played the previous games, from buying this one.

    this is my first game in the series, and it is awesome. not only is the gameplay system deep and fun, but the story is amazing. eachthis is my first game in the series, and it is awesome. not only is the gameplay system deep and fun, but the story is amazing. each individual character has a part in the story mode, as well as the story mode of calamity trigger, which is nice for players like me who didn't start at the beginning of the series.… Expand

I went from SF4 to Blazblue at first. I just though it was funner. But it just couldn't hold my interest like SF4. I don't care about story, I don't know why anybody does in a fighting game (I actually no longer care about story in ANY game. Give me gameplay, that's why I play games). I wish there was a tag mode. The characters are incredibly diverse but that brings me to a problem: i like fighter weird chars but I don't like playing as one, and this game only has a few options for normal chars. I know that's the point, but it doesn't quite work for me. It's a personal thing, but as you can see by my score, it doesn't bother me that much. A great 2d fighter, and one of the reasons I play 2d fighters the majority of the time (nothing beats Virtua Fighter though).… Expand

The problem is the online mode, not that there's technically anything wrong with it but it just seems like there aren't enough people playing this game which is a shame. You often find yourself being matched against the same couple of players and getting anyone to join a team match is pretty much impossible. If you want a 2D fighter for multiplayer get SSF4, if you want a 2D fighter for single player get this.… Expand

It's also nice to have both story modes bundles on one disc. Not really related to my review but I completely disagree with that official review by **** Code Central, the reviewer only focused on the one new character and the balance changes and nothing else and then complained about the pricing. The only thing I agree with was that CSII isn't getting any of the new additional content. There is enough content here to warrant a standalone game all of which listed below.

    The game comes packaged with Calamity Trigger's story mode completely redone with a new intro cutscene, artwork and scenarios as well as including the full Continuum Shift story mode, now with paths for the DLC characters. There are two new singleplayer modes, Unlimited Mars which pits you against waves of characters in their Unlimited forms and Abyss mode which earns you in-game currency which can be spent unlocking extra content in the gallery such as announcer voices, character colours (both previously DLC in CSII) or artwork. Six new songs have been included for characters and character specific fights. There is also a new tag-team mode which allows players to now fight in teams online, a great addition I think. Finally there is the new character Relius Clover who is a great addition to the game with his own unique play style.

    Now to me this is more than enough for the game to be made as a standalone title. It's certainly a lot more than what Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 included over the previous game.    … Expand

    Talking about milking a series. This is the forth Blazblue game to be released and there is only a minimal difference between the four. WhatTalking about milking a series. What the developers have done is basically release a new game, charge a ridiculous amount of money for DLC such as clothes and fighters.....some going as high as $8, and then releasing a new game with the add on content later. Only to have more DLC to buy later. Even worse some of the fighters you paid for are not even able to be used in most game modes. Hopefully, this will be the last of the milking. It is a great series but the bad business practices Aksys Games is using can best be described as criminal and they should be ashamed.
    As for this game as a stand alone product? It has the best fighting game backgrounds and only Mortal Kombat comes close, the fighters are well designed and none of them are clones (But there is still not enough of them), there is a terrible story mode but plenty enough here to justify a purchase..something most fighters do not have is enough meat on the bones- That is not a problem here.
    I have already reviewed this game before...3 other times so I am not gonna go in depth again. If you like fighters in any way the Blazblue series is the best new release in years but make sure you get this one. The complete version.
