This game is much fun and we spent hours playing it (already spent 10+ hours). Each song is a different game and it trying to achieve the challenges is fun even when you fail. It certainly deserves the money paid for it. Expand

This game was recommended while college was not allowing me take part in many video games. The enchanting part that originally caught my attention was the ability to pick it up for three minuets and feel accomplished. This game is highly recommended to any true gamer on a schedule.

Now I understand that IGN can not give good ratings to games whose development is not directly placing them in the advertising budget. In the case of an indy game, getting a review from IGN @ 5 is comparable to getting a 10 from a reviewer that has been paid to write the review. Get this game, and have lots of fun. If you like music, and you like twin stick agility games, this game will provide total satisfaction.

Even though enemy waves are being generated from mp3 music, they hardly reflect its rhythm and sound. Co-operative play is a plus, while unlocking and combining an abundance of specials will keep you playing.

While the game's level generation mechanic doesn't work as swiftly as we'd hoped, Beat Hazard Ultra is still a tidy twin-stick shooter. The problem is, as we previously alluded, twin-stick shooters are dime-a-dozen. The madcap visuals and neat progression system elevate Beat Hazard Ultra above the other bog-standard shooters available on the PlayStation Store, but it still ain't no Super Stardust HD. If you're looking for a quirky way to listen to your music though, you could definitely do much worse.

Basic, but executed to perfection. [Issue#213, p.97]
