    Fun shooter with a good spin on the traditional format. Good weapons and vehicle use is a good mechanic. Fun game, solid graphics, ok story, but nothing memorable.

    Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now I hardly play any.     Game was clearly developed by men with bulls. Whether those were EA or DICE execs is the question. Horrid game design, poor gameplay, clearly the devs were not trying, were outsourced, or were too busy crying that they would never be a woman. This is an abomination.

    Good reviews here are clearly by manchildren.
    Pathetic attempt.

    This is my favorite fps ever. It´s sadly hard to find servers with players now days and many of the servers you can find are full of hacks and stuff like that.

    Damn... what the hell of a masterpiece is this. Just finished the campaing hour ago and it was absolutely amazing. DICE studio managed to make an absolute peak of Battlefield games so far, even in 2021 is this game awesome.

    First of all things i have to say that i love the destructible environment, in compare to CoD is 100 and 0. Then i must mention the story in campaign..     First of all things i have to say that i love the destructible environment, in compare to CoD is 100 and 0. Then i must mention the story in campaign.. American-Russia conflict located in South America (located in bigger part of game). Characters have excelent written dialogues and quotes. Level design is well, maps are big enough.

    Driving model maybe could be a little bit better designed but that cant change my rating of this game. After long time finally a 10/10 Game.    … Expand

    BC2 came to the market at exactly the right time especially with Frostbite in it's Arsenal. No other game even to this day (Even with levelution in BF4) managed to make destruction an integral part of a war game. In reality destruction is part of war and BC2 made this integration.

    The graphics were not the best - Modern Warfare seemed to always have better detail and textures, however    BC2 came to the market at exactly the right time especially with Frostbite in it's Arsenal. No other game even to this day (Even with levelution in BF4) managed to make destruction an integral part of a war game. In reality destruction is part of war and BC2 made this integration.

    The graphics were not the best - Modern Warfare seemed to always have better detail and textures, however the graphics in BC2 felt real, tactile and sandboxy but Battlefield at this point were not known for having the best graphics.

    BC2 excelled in sound design and ballistics - The guns sounded great, the way you could shoot and see the tracer leave the gun hit a wall and milliseconds later hear the impact, it was just fantastic. This extended to underarm grenades and RPG's, it was actually enjoyable just to use them, sometimes, just firing a weapon was rewarding as a kill. Spraying walls with a PKR to hear the gun, the impacts and see the damage - wow.

    The maps were designed for destruction and in most cases felt empty or not as detailed as other popular games. And because the subject matter meant smaller teams and un-familiar countries, it felt more arcade like (Not wholly a bad thing)

    They was obviously a massive step up to BF4 in terms of a game that was meant to be taken serious, however imagine BC2 Atmosphere with BF4 detail - in a real relatable theatre of war.

    This game is wonderful. It seems that every year it becomes more magnificent. I played it again these days after a long time and it was still magnificent. The story, the charismatic characters,etc.I only have compliments about this game.

    I remember playing this back in 2010 on the 360, though I will be rating the PS3 version, since it's the most recent version I have played, and guess what, it's exactly the same lmao.
    This game is ridiculous for the time it was released in, very nice graphics, kinda decent story, then again I don't remember it too well. Weapon selection is top, especially because the added the XM8,    10/10

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Battlefield Bad Company 2 es uno de los primeros juegos que jugué y de los pocos de la saga. Le tengo mucha nostalgia y tengo que reconocer que es muy adictivo, al punto de que en su momento, pensaba que se merecía un 8. Pero ahora que soy mas objetivo, no me dejare llevar por fanatismos y criticare los puntos negativos. Pudo haber sido una obra maestra, pudo haber sido uno de los mejores juegos de PS3 y multijugador online de la historia, el potencial ahí esta, pero tengo que señalar ciertos defectos que me hicieron enojar... bastante.
    En Singleplayer solo tenes un modo campaña que en mi opinión es bastante genérico, recuerda a los COD o incluso a los MOH en jugabilidad, simplemente seguir por pasillos rectos matando enemigos, y si bien es interesante explorar ciertas secciones del mapa para poder encontrar nuevas armas o activar y destruir cajas COM especiales, la verdad que la historia me resulto genérica y no me atrayeron ninguno de los personajes, mas allá del hippie que ese si tenia su carisma. El final también es bastante malo y no combina para nada con la estética que planteaba el juego de un inicio, ya que tenes que destruir un aparato que luce muy futurista, cuando antes no había nada parecido.. Personalmente, uno de los peores modos campaña que he jugado, ya que no tiene nada que me haya llamado la atención (exceptuando como ya dije, el hippie como personaje que tiene su carisma y el explorar ciertas zonas para encontrar armas y cajas COM). Ademas, el modo singleplayer no tiene bots en mapas multiplayer, cosa que me parece un tanto desaprovechado. Siguiendo ahora con el multiplayer, tenes varios modos de juego, pero solo la gente juega conquista y rush, incluso en 2010 (que fue cuando salio el juego), no había nadie jugando recuerdo yo. Tampoco hay multijugador con bots o a pantalla dividida, pero bueno... En cuanto al modo rush y conquista, estos resultan ser entretenidos. Desbloquear nuevas armas, habilidades, medallas para el personaje y las armas, mejorar las clases, etc, hay mucha personalización y cada clase tiene sus pros y sus contras, aunque hay algunas armas claramente desbalanceadas, pero tampoco es que las primeras sean terribles, de hecho, se pueden usar perfectamente al comenzar desde el principio. El juego tiene bastante contenido en el online, y se nota que es donde mas se centraron, pero se puede ver que BBC2 esta un poco adelantado para la PS3, ya que tiene gráficos increíbles para la consola, y un rendimiento generalmente estable, de hecho, ha envejecido muy bien, ademas de contar con un buen diseño de mapas, pero que esto a veces afecta a la jugabilidad; lo explicare mas adelante.
    Pero debido a que BBC2 esta adelantado para la consola, se nota que también no pudieron pulir ciertos glitches.... y en cuanto a los glitches... uffff, tenemos para rato... Ya con decir que se asemeja a NFS MW, Crash Twinsanity o Pokemon en cuanto a glitches, ya os hacéis una idea. Este juego tiene muchos bugs, los cuales mencionare todos los que me encontré, y que no han arreglado desde 2010 hasta la ACTUALIDAD.
    -A veces cuando ganaste dice que perdiste y viceversa.
    -Los servidores son bastante malos, lo que esto provoca que armas como el cuchillo que ya tienen un hitbox cuestionable, se queden como "a medio acuchillar" y falles aunque le estés dando claramente, lo mismo con armas como granadas o bazucas. También te puede echar de la nada o que el personaje se teletransporte para atrás al correr, o que al recargar un arma no suceda nada.
    -Querer explotar los C4 y que siga poniendo mas en vez de detonarlos.
    -Que el juego congele la PS3 (al menos esto me sucede en la PS3 Super Slim), generalmente ocurre al usar el UAV o cualquier tanque. Lo peor de todo es que te puede volver a ocurrir si volves al mismo servidor y haces la misma acción!!! Se me llego a congelar la consola 3 veces en 1 día como mucho!!!
    Estos son los mas importantes, pero hay muchos mas...
    Tampoco me gusto que el equipo rival pueda entrar en tu base y matarte luego pasado los dos primeros objetivos... No podía ser como en TF2 que la base es tu lugar seguro y nadie puede matarte? Hay mapas en los que una vez que se conquista cierto territorio, apareces en el mismo lugar y te pueden matar en menos de 1 segundo al reaparecer, todo el tiempo! O en mapas como White Pass, los 10 segundos que te dan para volver a tu zona son suficientes para acuchillar al que usa el UAV! Es por todo esto que creo que afecta a la jugabilidad negativamente. No me malinterpreten, el juego esta muy bien en la base! Podes ademas matar de formas graciosas a los soldados, como con el reparador o el C4, por dar algunos ejemplos, pero que esto a veces no esta tan bien balanceado y armas como el M2 o la escopeta con balas slug por ejemplo, llegan a estar rotisimas, o vehículos como el Apache. En resumen, es adictivo en multiplayer y sin contar los fallos, y el singleplayer es olvidable, recordandome a un FPS genérico de la PS2.    … Expand

    Graphics - 8/10 - Not Crysis good, but excellent for the time this game was released.

    Singleplayer - 10/10 - I had lots of fun playing the singleplayer campaign, nothing to complain about.

    Multiplayer - 7/10 - When you get a populated match, this is one of the best Battlefield games, but, this game's multiplayer is not populated very often and usually I only run into 2v2 matches (and you will have trouble finding matches for anything other than Rush and Conquest), but during it's peak you can run into 8v8 matches and have some fun.

    Overall: 9/10 - Excellent game, the player population isn't very good and I don't see this game going for much longer, so be sure to enjoy it while people still play. For $3 this game is fantastic.    … Expand

Le doublage VF m'avait laissé un doute dans le premier Bad Company mais là il s'en trouve confirmé : doublage québécois !Le moteur 3D Frosbite fait des merveilles, même sur PS3 ! bien que la résolution soit faible, bien que l'AA soit aux abonnés absents, le jeu est encore très beau et toujours fluide. Les décors sont variés et relativement destructibles, c'est également un bon point. Le doublage VF m'avait laissé un doute dans le premier Bad Company mais là il s'en trouve confirmé : doublage québécois ! certes de bonne facture pour du québécois mais significativement inférieur à ce qu'on fait en France.

    On note quelques bugs (les ennemis coincés à moitié dans le décor) mais rien de rédhibitoire et à sa décharge, je n'ai pas installé le patch de 1750 mo... mais de qui se fout-on franchement ? pas que ça à faire... les patchs sur PS3, ça prend deux jours à chaque fois. Cela dit, ça ne change rien au souci fondamental de Bad truc numéro 2 : 5 mn de jeu, 2 mn de cinématique, 5 mn de jeu, 2 mn... couloirs bien balisés et scripts à profusion...

    Pas assez réaliste pour qu'on y prête un réel intérêt, les flingues sont mous et la suspension d'incrédulité est mise à mal toutes les 30 secondes ; peu importe l'ndulgence qu'on est susceptible de lui accorder (à moins d'avoir encore 12 ans) tout cela sent le mauvais téléfilm.

    Quant au multi, c'est du Battlefield... la confusion sur de très grandes cartes où tout le monde fait n'importe quoi et où on s'y emmerde... royalement.    … Expand

    Unlike other Battlefield games, the single player is actually entertaining (especially because it doesn't take itself so seriously), and the A.I. isn't bad. It is definitely not an incredibly long campaign, but it is certainly fun. While the single player is enjoyable, most of your time will be spent in the multiplayer. One of my favorite aspects of the multiplayer is the incredibleUnlike other Battlefield games, the single player is actually entertaining (especially because it doesn't take itself so seriously), and the A.I. isn't bad. It is definitely not an incredibly long campaign, but it is certainly fun. While the single player is enjoyable, most of your time will be spent in the multiplayer. One of my favorite aspects of the multiplayer is the incredible weapon, vehicle, and player balance. No weapon in the game that is too over-powered or under-powered. While some weapons/vehicles in the game may bit easier too use, each weapon and vehicle succeeds at various ranges and situations. I also like how, unlike newer Battlefield games, the maps in BFBC2 that are tailored towards specific game modes rather than all of the maps used for each game mode, leading towards maps playing out well. The customization in the game is "just right" as well. It isn't over the top like Battlefield 4, but there are enough options and ways to play in Bad Company 2 that allows for hours and hours of addicting, truly fun gameplay. Even though there aren't a ton of game modes or maps and there are some bugs/glitches in the game, you will hardly notice it as you complete many battles with many hours of game time.… Expand

    Continues the original's campaign it's a bit more serious but still has the funny dialogue and it has still a lot of funny dialouge as much as BC1. Like Haggard says got to save me some cheerleaders. It's a brilliant game and should be played by everyone. 100/100.

    This game is quite the experience. I went in thinking "oh look another call of duty game" but it's actually much better than any COD I've played. The graphics are stellar, the characters are immediately likeable, and the sound effects and weapons design are top notch. The only downside is that the single player mode is a little short, but on the other hand this is by far the bestThis game is quite the experience.     First thing is obviously the fact that there is almost no vehicles in the campaign. In the Battlefield Bad Company campaign there was vehicles, and it was more enjoyable because then the player could choose to play how they wanted. For some reason they've abandoned that in favor of a campaign that is more similar to Call of Duty then Battlefield.

    Another thing that would catch any fan of the previous game off guard is the story. It's reasonable to expect that Bad Company 2 would start where the previous game left off. But it didn't. Instead, the story is entirely different. It's in a completely different universe. Which would be OK if there wasn't a game before it. The fact that the characters have completely different personalities in both games is very distracting.

    Another thing is that absolutely no one plays this game now. It's probably the garbage matchmaking system. It's still easy to get a full game in the original Bad Company, but not in this one, even though Bad Company 2 probably has more players.

    If you haven't played Bad Company before, you might like this Bad Company 2. But for anyone who was a fan of the previous game, you're probably better off sticking to Bad Company.    … Expand

    BFBC2 is a good game. The campaign is quite boring, but who cares about campaign in a Battlefield game? The multiplayer is amazing and is a lot smoother than BF 1943. A lot of customization, good classes and guns. Vehicles are great as well and the game is well balanced with vehicle and infantry gameplay.

    (I played this game when it came out, I'm just now writing the review)

    Battlefield is one of the most authentic shooting experiences on the market, priding itself on realistic graphics, amazing audioscapes and heart pounding, fist pumping bouts of destructive gameplay. Bad Company removes the overtly serious tone of the series, while retaining the same great mechanics and expanding upon them when needed. The first game proved to be an excellent start for a sub series that had indomitable potential. Its follow up is even better, uniting multiple disparate elements into a whole and proving itself to be one of the most enjoyable shooters ever created.

    Multiplayer has long been the strongest pillar of the Battlefield tower and that trend continues in this entry with more enjoyable modes (better than the singular one in the first) and a larger amount of unlocks and rewards. The games remain tense and somewhat strategic, as you work your way through large maps and pay great attention to your surroundings so as not to end up with a sniper's bullet lodged in the back of your skull. Gunplay is still fast and sudden, most firefights ending quickly and the ones that are stretched out always have a habit of concluding with one opponent getting killed by someone else in the world. Conquest is still the greatest mode of all, uniting many ideas into a successful and completely epic mission as you shoot your way through the largest scale version of Domination out of any multiplayer shooter.

    Destruction proved to be one of the most solid fearures of the last game and it is only improved upon here. Whole buildings can be toppled as you attempt to kill your camping foes. With the use of various explosive devices, you have multiple options open in how you work through the environment and how you approach your objectives. This makes the combat even more exciting and never knowing whether or not your seemingly impenetrable defences can come crashing down is such a thrilling moment of despair and uncertainty and the graphical fidelity remains impressive while online with dozens of other players.

    Traversal and navigation remains amazing on foot or in a vehicle, with incredibly realistic movement and handling in either land or air vehicles. Using tanks empowers you and gives you a sense of superiority over your rivals on the battlefield. While jets and helicopters require a little bit of skill to control, you are sure to eventually get the hang of things. Mantling and running is also excellent and it works in conjunction with the use of the gadgets and various other weapons in multiplayer. As I said before, gunplay is just great and the amount of variety within the armaments you can use is astounding and impressive. But while multiplayer may be the bread and butter of this experience, Bad Company 2 still supplies what is easily the best campaign in Battlefield history...

    Preston Marlowe and the rest of B-Company returns after the brilliant ending of the previous game and this time they're going up against a new Russian enemy. He's surprisingly memorable for a shooter antagonist (even though he's not on the level of Makarov from MW or Vaas from Far Cry) and while his grand plan is all about crippling the United States with nukes and his army, the history the game spans (starting in WWII) is fairly inspired. Travelling forwards in time and while the motives behind the return of the squad are a little mixed, I instantly loved being reacquainted with these excellent characters due to their nice sense of humour that keeps the dialogue out of the cliched and melodramatic category. That said, it does feel like this game has lost a little of its identity due to the darker tone and general lack of very funny moments.

    The level design in this game is nowhere near as open as it was in the first game and so it gains a fair amount of linearity to its objectives. However, this isn't really a bad thing. Confronting multiple objectives at once ensured the game lost some of its story structure and it removed the probability of big set piece moments. They are in abundance here, with a thrilling solo trek through the tundra, an open desert level that encourages vehicle use and the obligatory sniper level, which turns out to be fairly original in feeling. The campaign is a bit too short though and lacks the same great replay value as the first.

    Bad Company 2 is the ideal return for such an impressive sub series and with the improved campaign and standard for multiplayer shooters in the online space, it is an excellent step up from the starting experience. While it may lack in the same general sense of identity and open feeling that the first game had in abundance, it more than makes up for that with polished gameplay mechanics and a destructibility system that proves to be fairly innovative. Sure I love Battlefield 3, 4 and Hardline, but I'm still waiting for the next great sequel in this exciting sub series.    … Expand

    The campaign is really funny actually, I loved all of the characters and all of them had a different personality. This game looks stunning and looks very realistic. I am in love with the destructible environments.

    Much improved on Bad Company 1 in all aspects. More interesting story (it's still not particularly good though) and far better online maps. Can still be a little unbalanced.

    Bf: Bad Company 2 has one of the most enjoyable fps multiplayers that you can find. The campaign may be nothing special but the multiplayer can get you hooked for months. A must buy for any fps fanboy out there.

    Favorite fps of all time. played every fps to come out in the last 10 years and BFBC2 still holds up against all of them. i still have more fun in this game then BF3.... and honestly i know the graphics in BF3 are suppose to be superior but theres something beautifully simple and uncluttered about BFBC2 that just works straight out. its a purer FPS experience. Micro and macro-destruction is fully workable and a lot of fun. The best part about it, if you put it in relation with BF3 is that bugs got fixed and the game wasn't nearly as broken as that title. I will admit, this game is entirely different than Call of Duty. Call of Duty has small maps while Battlefield has large ones, COD has no vehicles while Battlefield does, etc. In this game, the pattern isn't re-spawn, die,I have never seen a worse review than JohnD's.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Recently I decided to play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 again due to the lack of retail games being released. The game begins in October 1944 with a group of US Commandos trying to take a Japanese Naval Base during "Operation Aurora". During this Operation, the commandos capture a Japanese Scientist who tries to tell them to leave the island as soon as possible because of a project known as "Black Weapon". While leaving the island, the commandos were too late and the "Black Weapon" is activated which creates a tsunami and kills the commando group. The story is then taken to the present day were a group of U.S Soldiers are told to secure a device like the "Black Weapon" in Russia. Having done everything they needed to get the device, it is later found out that it was a fake. Due to the successful mission in Russia, General Braidwood tells the group that are now enlisted into a special force and is told to find Agent James Aguire. The squad go to Bolivia in search of Aguire which eventually leds to many firefights with the locals. The group are able to find Aguire and find out that they can retrieve his intelligence on these types of weapons from a French satellite that is being controlled in a base in the Andes. The group land the satellite and have to stop a Russian Army how are after the intelligence so that they can destroy it. When the group bring back the intelligence to Aguire; he tells them that the person behind making these weapons is a Russian Colonel known as Arkady Kirilenko (the same man that the group tried to eliminate in Russia). Kirilenko's plan is to try and wipe out the American Power Grid using these weapons so that the Russian Army can invade the USA. The group are told that Kirilenko is hiding out in Chile which leds to them and the U.S Forces hunting him down. The group eventually find him but Kirilenko is able to escape again. The group find intel on where Kirilenko maybe heading to next. The group believe that he was of to find an abandoned ship known as "Sangre Del Toro". The group move out and find the ship which contains the key ingredient in making these weapons. The group also find out more about what happened during "Operation Aurora". The Operation was a suicide mission so that the U.S Army were able to see the capability of the "Black Weapon". While trying to get to compound to Aguire for analysis, the groups helicopter is shot down which leaves them split up. The group eventually regroup with one another and escape from the local militia. Giving the compound to Aguire, the group find out that Aguire is a double-agent and wants revenge for what happened to his father - one of the commandos involved in Operation Aurora. However Kirilenko betrays Aguire and kills him. Kirilenko tries to kill the group but they are saved by their helicopter pilot who evetually dies due to his wounds. They eventually head through the city of Quinto were it is believed that Kirilenko's Black Weapon is being held. The group find out that it is being held on a large cargo plane as it is activated showing the group its true power. The group then smuggle themselves on to the cargo plane, they find that Kirilenko is trying to activate the weapon above Southern United States until the group blow up the weapon and the plane. While bailing out of the plane, Kirilenko steals the last parachute. While in free fall, Kirilenko is killed and the remaining parachute is handed to you by one of the group. The group believe that all their hard work did something until the General turns up to tell them that they will be helping to fight of the Russian Army as it has just moved through Alaska and Canada.

    I liked the idea of collecting people's dog tags after getting a knife kill on multiplayer

    It is far to easy to get sniping kills in the story and on multiplayer
    The story is one which has been used many times and after playing it once, the second time round was very boring
    It is too easy to get kills on multiplayer when using vehicles

    Battlefield Bad Company 2 is the best first person shooter ever, and the best BF game. Why? Because is extremely fun! It's with a superb sound and with realistic graphics and animations. The best part is multiplayer. Multiplayer is strategic and really upgraded. You can destroy a whole building. You have tanks, helicopters and cars to drive. The combat is really bloody and terrific. They have since forbidden enemies to enter opponent's bases in the subsequent Vietnam expansion pack and BF3...     I bought this game off of a friends recommendation and it is probably the best shooter i have ever played fair enough the campaign isnt spectacular but the hours which can be put in on the wonderfully designed maps is unbelievable.     It is a must have.Not having this in your life is like not having chocalate in your life.

I cant say im too fond of the single player campaign but whatever, its not the focal point of battlefield games, im shocked the even included single player. Alot of guns, maps, and game modes to play. This is a great installment in the battlefield franchise and a great alternative to modern warfare 2.

You are put in a squad and does a good job with how it plays it out and Frostbite 1.5's destruction engine makes the field of battle more strategic and realistic, made complete with a great arsenal of weapons and vehicles. After playing the Call of Duty series like crazy and giving this game another chance (I got about 50 hours invested) I can say with 100% certainty that this is the better series. Only let down is that while I prefer this to CoD, this is the camping game of the two. CoD has more noob players but this is a pure campfest! However it's a shame 1943 beats this by a clear mile. As that's an arcade game

    I'm going to start out by saying that the single player is mediocre. Battlefield's multiplayer delivers on this game. You won't find better vehicular warfare online anywhere.

The story in the original Bad Company was better. But here, they took out the humor and made it darker. But then again, the Battlefield series never focused on stories, and always focused on online. Now this is where you get your money's worth! Is BC2 online better than the online from the first? Yes. You can now have attachments to your guns and have vehicle perks. Speaking of guns, they didn't put in any new guns, but I'm okay with that. The parachute is a great welcome too. And now you can give a class a completely new gun (e.g. The Sniper can now have a sub-machine gun). Unfortunately, majority of the guns are exclusive to their respective class and there is only one gun of each type that you can give to another class. (The Thompson is the only sub-machinegun that you can use in any class and so on). In conclusion, the 9 score ONLY applies if you're playing online. Do NOT buy it for singleplayer. Online is the real deal here. And it can show how gritty war can be.… Expand

    This game is really good, the multiplayer is balanced and fun, the campaign has many great set pieces and good humor, which a lot of people including myself, find amusing. Like any other game it has it's flaws, and that has to be with the length of the story, it's short. However a good experience.     Battlefield Bad Company 2 has some of the best multiplayer of any game within the last generation. When firing a weapon on BF:BC2 the weapons feel like they have weight to them. Compared to CoD where the weapons have barely any recoil and and are to accurate for real weapons. Damage on BF:BC2 is also more realistic than most shooters on the market. BC2 also has destructible building and enviroments, which is helpful against campers. Camping is a huge issue in the CoD series, but BC2 discourages camping. For instance if an enemy is hide behind a window of a house and is not going anywhere else the player can just get into a safe area and fire a grenade launcher at the wall and it will destroy the wall and most likely that enemy behind it. BC2 is a great shooter for people who are tired of the arcadish feel of CoD and all the other copycats.… Expand

    this game is so terrible. it focuses on realism way to much and forgets the fun. the story is shot and is way to predictable. the mutiplayer is full of sever problems and is very lacking in game modes.

Well maybe the AI amongst your squad as that's telling after a good few hours gameplay but overall this is a tremendous FPS. The sound however is what immerses you in the action, its terrific and captures the moments. The single-player focuses upon finding a scalar weapon currently being rebuilt by a Russian general who intends to destroy America. The missions are enjoyable, unfortunately like most not long enough although Bad Company 2 isn't as bad the likes of MW1/2 selling you short. However the real area where Battlefield excels is online. It is near unbeatable. Add to the fact its addictive as hell and allows you to decide which class you wish to take, as well well as that you can build up your prestige and upgrade your weapons. This is on par with CoD, and a worthy alternative and in many ways beats its adversary. Imagine just how good Battlefield 3 will be!?!… Expand

    This is a great game. The level of destruction is incredible. If the maps are unfollowable and the vehicles uncontrollable then that just proves you don't know how to play a game! This game is realistic, fun to play and solid. This is a great FPS and the multiplayer rocks.

I'd only spent about 5 hours or so with the game, and wqs frustrated at first at the difference in gameplay presented as opposed to anything I've experienced in the CoD franchise. This, for me, is one of the best aspects of BFBC2; you need to work as a team in order to come out of a match victorious. Need a tank taken out? You're not going to manage that one as a medic.     Bad Company 2 may not have as good of a campaign as other shooters, though the likable characters and fun locals make the campaign a blast for the 8 hours it lasts. The real star is the team based multiplayer that is balanced, fun, and has great DLC. Bad Company 2 is one of the best shooters of 2010! Don't miss it!

Especially with all the constant smoke and dust obscuring visibility. You shoot an enemy up and a cloud of smoke obstructs further aiming. Not knowing where your enemies are is very realistic but it seems like most of the times you die you never see it coming, sometime the radar will light up enemies when they are shooting at you but allot of times it doesn't which is very frustrating because you can't rely on it. They are trying to take 3D life where you have your 6 senses working 360 degrees and peripheral vision - and then translate it to 2D which doesn't work. They have to give you alternate senses to rely on to replace the ones lost. Allot of times it ends up being just a free fraul off killing and deaths unless you are on a drastically winning team or are on a private chat with 3 other friends to coordinate attacks and expose enemies by sacrificing your own. The ability to respawn on your own personal and bases makes dying only a minor inconvenience adding to the free fraul. In conquest respawning only at home base would solve this plus being made to take bases in order and the game ending when you posses all the bases would eliminate the craziness and late game home base blood baths creating a straight forward goal based battle. The next biggest frustration with the game is getting stuck on you surroundings either waking or driving. When walking anything over 6 inches tall (step height) stops you dead forcing you to jump as well as hills you think you should be able to climb up stop you and you sit there jumping like an idiot trying to get up. You will end up pulling your hair out because of this. When driving a tank you get stuck on almost everything. There is not much that can stop a tank in real life but when you get stuck on a wooden fence or building it's frustrating. Some things come down easy an others do not - very frustrating You should be able to flatten the grass/bamboo/tin huts in the Vietnam version without even slowing down. Some will break with effort but by then you are dead from enemy fire that you can't locate it's origin . Next is the weapons capabilities, as you build rand they give you more weapons not necessarily better ones. As you scroll thought the list of weapons you can't compare them directly, you find two you like at opposite ends of the list and by the time you scroll from one to the other you can't hardly remember where the bar was - to solve this give the power / accuracy / range bars a numerical value. As well the ability to only use one spec in each of the three spec columns is a piss off. You put hundreds of hours into the game to earn this stuff and only get to use 3. They make you choose between armor or ammo, targeting systems or speedy reloading ect............................It feels like all the time and progress is futile. You should be able to use them all, you put the time in you reap the benefits. If it gives you to much of an advantage make them harder to get or set up games where your entrance depends on ability. Low rank players play with other low rankers ect... Another thing that is frustrating is the aiming ability, whenever you hit the button it seems like I am always pointing at the enemies feet. If you set the sensitivity low it moves to slow and you end up dead, too fast and you over shoot the target every time, I can't seem to find a happy middle ground. Always liked some sort of mild auto aiming. Lastly the gun sights projected out in front of you whether walking or driving are either white or lighted red or blue. The white being the worst, you have a hard time seeing them especially when going though like back ground colours or smoke. Half the time you can't tell where you are aiming. The 4x red dot scope is a great spec but you have to pass up other good specs to use it. I should have waited for version 3. I hope they address all the problems with #2 and fire all their testers and hire some that know what they are doing and have some balls to say that the game isn't ready yet!â… Expand

    Great FPS. It has all the bells and wistles you expect from a new shooter and some that other don't have. The inclusion of vehicles in multiplayer makes a big differnce. It adds a whole new dimension of fighting and strategy. All in all, if you like FPS's, you should allready have this.

    I recently got Map Pack 7 and I am back in love with the bullet drop, the destruction 2 engine, the dust and the loud boom and rumble, I think this game has lifted the bar for FPS, you can only speak to your squad, but if you see someone, you can highlight their position for your entire team. It keeps me plaing it over and over again when other new games have faded away. Graphics, sounds, gameplay, all solid - even better, the different classes, vehicles and interesting maps keeps the game very interesting unlike in Call of Duty kiddie-frag-fest. Now withI have played quite a lot of FPS games in my life starting from Wolfenstein and Doom, but this is the best FPS game ever. I find that the rank system is better because i find that getting each rank is a massive challenge and you have a sense of achievement as you often get a decent unlock that you can use across all classes. This is unlike MW2 because when you often rank up you my get a gun that you will never use because you don't play that style of game. For example getting a sniper rifle when you hate sniping and rather be in CQB. I find that single player campaign has a much more of a story and a better sense and feel of the characters you are playing with. While playing the game i felt like that i was a real battlefield with almost every wall being destructible. BC2 has a better graphics is much better then MW2 and the sheer enjoyment i get for killing people by destroying walls is part of the game. I also like the bullet drop factor on the sniper rifles when shooting at distance (however should be implemented to assault rifles and pistols also.) unlike MW2 when shooting people who look like dots is as easy as shooting someone a point blank range, the only difference being they are a smaller target. BC could of expanded some of their maps as i feel that can be a bit too small. Overall i would recommend this game to everyone i know, unless you are a real COD fan that thinks using a GL is "Noobish" even though the REAL army use them. I would love to see them in the face of battle with nothing other then a GL to fight with, see how they take the situation then. Death or risk being called a noob.… Expand

    Great game, great multi-player option with lots tanks, cars, helicopters, and military equipment that you can use. The only reason I didn't give a 10 is that, unlike Modern Warfare 2, there are no special abilities or anything that you gain over time, nor custom classes that you can make.

Vehicles had splendidly as do the weapons. Building are destrucable and can be brought down on your enemies. It has great gadgets, cool kill streaks, amazingly deep customisable options, is fun & looks fantastic. BUT. Battlefield is like playing "war" in a small - medium sized office floor. THEN moving to the next floor, THEN the next floor and so on, until you either win convincingly or the defenders rip the glory right from under your noses. .     Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a fantastic sequal to an awesome game. The single player is a huge step up in my opinion over the first. I like to think the first game was to establish who the characters were and the sequal is when they put these characters in a new situation. The original Bad Company was a little to silly, this one hits the sweet spot.

    The multiplayer is also a huge step up from the last one. It feels like the series wanted to go back to its roots a little bit. the only problem i have with the game is the graphics. the faces of the main characters look ok but the rest of the game is populated by poeple that were beat with an ugly stick. its really strange to me because the rrest of the game is great looking.    … Expand

In heavy vehicles you have the Abrams and T-90 Tanks. In the water you have a choice between water crafts or patrol boats. In the air you have my favorites the Apaches, Havocs and Hinds and yes Bad Company 2 also have UAVs which are way better then the UAVs from Modern Warfare 2. Now on to Modern Warfare 2's vehicles (only but the sound of crickets) whoever heard of a Modern Warfare without combat vehicles??? Okay moving on... Battlefield Bad Company 2 stages are 5 times to 10 times the size of Modern Warfare 2 combat zones. Okay in all fairness in Modern Warfare 2 you are on foot... the entire time... no vehicles... not even a dirt bike.... okay moving on again. Battlefield Bad Company 2 has night and day combat... Modern Warfare only has high noon shootouts... after that everyone takes a break for the rest of the day. Sniping (The Love of my life) My heart literally skips a beat when I take someone out at 200+ yards (especially when it's another sniper) There are no words that can describe the feeling you get when you watch that bullet down drift into the enemies head. Modern Warfare 2 has nothing and I mean nothing that comes close to that. Snipping in Modern Warfare 2 was a after thought. Oh wait.... didn't I say I wasn't going to sit here and compare Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to Modern Warfare 2???? Ooooops! I told ya it wasn't going to be fair to MW2. I literally don't have the space to talk about all the features that Battlefield Bad Company 2 has and what Modern Warfare 2 is lacking compared to Battlefield Bad Company 2 but the truth is that I like Modern Warfare 2 but I love Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield Bad Company 3 is already on its way so buckle up folks :-)… Expand

    An incredible game to say the least. The Single Player Campaign is the best in its class and the Multiplayer has some of those epic 'Battlefield' moments. And, the way that you can customize your 'classes' in a multiplayer game is much better than those of Call of Duty. It is definitely a better game than the first Bad Company and is worth the purchase. I could not disagree more withAn incredible game to say the least. MW2 is the run and gun game with ppl respawning randomly behind you.....For a multiplayer repawn game, there's not much i would change, however, a 'lock on' rocket I don't know what game nikko was playing, but it wasn't this one.     I have played every Battlefield game made other than 2142 and this one is top notch. The destruction engine makes the game different every time its played in multiplayer. If you play with some friends and actually use the mics to talk and work as a squad you can destroy a team that has a bunch of lone wolfs on it. Single player is alright but their is a reason that the original bad company was the first Dice BF game with a single player campaign. Review sites always gave low scores if the game didn't have a single player campaign. BF 1942, BF Vietnam, BF 2, BF 1943 all multiplayer only. And those that think BF BC2 copied MW2 get with the program because BF is one of the oldest warfare games out their. BF 1942 came out in 2002 with 32 player MP Online with Huge maps and vehicles and class's. Call of Duty (First one) came out a year later and had no multiplayer. The same people that claim BC2 copied Mw2 are the same people that think the first multiplayer FPS game was BOND for the nintendo64 (Console Noobs). As far as I'm concerned, the graphics in a game shouldn't matter at all unless they're completely game-breaking, and BC2's graphics are far from it. There's a load of detail in the environments, on the weapons, vehicles and explosions etc. and whilst it may not look as good as MW2, It doesn't make any real difference. You picked up on the fact that the gameplay is occasionally rather chaotic. And that's because you obviously have no idea how to work as a squad or a team (the squad system is implemented extremely well into BC2) if you manage to get a balanced team that uses classes effectively, which isn't hard, then you'll probably find the gameplay to be more tactical, more fluid and generally more enjoyable than that of Modern Warfare. And besides, it's when the game is chaotic that it's most fun. If you're going to look at the gameplay as pointless, then isn't absolutely every game pointless? And hey, Rush and Conquest modes have a load more "point" that the standard deathmatches that have become the most usual in most FPSes. The maps are designed with team based gameplay in mind and are extremely varied and well balanced, with plenty of destructible cover, such as houses and dense forest. Every map has been designed with care and attention to how players will work. For example, there are plenty of posts where a sniper can wait, while there are hidden spots nearby for Shotgunners nearby, so that they can defend and depend upon the sniper. As I said, they are designed with teamplay in mind, Not rampaging about by yourself. Vehicles are light and bouncy, and rocketing around the maps in an ATV or blasting holes in buildings with a Tank helps to give your team the edge and is very fun. The controls work very well as long as you aren't an imbecile and Vehicles are very well balanced. Tanks aren't too hard to destroy if you !Work As A Team! and use the class system well enough. The controls are mostly like any other FPS on the market, and if you can't get used to the configurations, it's quite frankly your fault, not the game's. Within 2 minutes of the first mission you already know the controls and within 5 minutes you're able to use them effectively. Sound is used incredibly well, with a nice soundtrack and decent voice acting. While you're fighting through the battlefields, you can hear soldiers shouting and shooting. Guns, grenades, explosions all sound realistic and are well recorded. Weapons are the same as in most shooters generally, with each class having their own unique weapons (Recon has Snipers, Assault has Light Machine guns) and there are weapons that can be used by every calss (Such as shotguns). So nothing to compain about. The online upgrades system is quite simple really, you level up by doing well in games and subsequently unlock upgrades for whichever class(es) you used throughout the game. Finding the enemy is also rather simple, providing you have eyes. Your teamates can also "Spot" the enemies by hitting a button whilst they're looking at them, which marks them on your radar and shows their location on your screen. You ended your review with "Trust Me." But I don't know how in Hell's name anyone can trust you when you only played the game for 3 small hours. I don't think that unless you've completed the campaign and spent a good few hours online that you are in any position to review a game properly. Rant Over. It's a good game, Worthy contender to MW2, Maybe even surpasses it. Compare it to MW2 Yourself, But if you're a bloody CoD fanboy, keep your biased opinions to yourself.… Expand

Where as bf bc 2 encourages teamwork and its only gives you the basic addons that u actually need for a gun such as red dot sight , sliencer and grenade laucher.     This is a really solid game, my favorite competitive online game since cod4. I have quite a few complaints about the single player, but since i am not going to finish it, i wont voice them. However, the multiplayer is a blast. It offers a nice change of pace for those who got sick of campers in MW2. I say rent it to see if you like it and then go out and buy it if you do.

    Nikko C. you are a complete idiot for even comparing MW2 and BC2.Different aims.How is BC2 a run and gun game when that's what MW2 is all about?Maybe if you tried learning the controls you enjoy it more but this absolutely beats MW2 in every way.Destruction is the way forward.

    Although the singleplayer campaign is entertaining enough, it is in the multiplayer that this game really shines. Almost perfectly balanced, the vehicles, destructible buildings and team-play make this game a joy to play and a must for any fans of the genre.
