For the open world, there may be questions, but it didn’t annoy me, maybe this is due to the current Ubisoft games that I played enough for the rest of my life. And the world, though empty, is normal for 2011. The plot, he is not afraid of this word, is brilliant. The gameplay is also good, I was interested in beating up opponents and using gadgets, and I remember about the one-button combat from Arkham Knight, but it’s enough to set the difficulty level to high and everything is not so simple (I strongly advise you to play at the maximum difficulty level).     One of the best superhero games of all TIME. The story, the plot, the emotion, just a great game, you will enjoy this game it has mark hamill as Joker, Kevin Conroy as Batman and just a beautiful music and tone. Great gameplay obviously it has aged a bit but still a great game today

Aunque Batman Arkham city sea un juego relativamente corto el tiempo de juego se alarga con sus misiones secundarias eventos por todo el mapa y sus del es eso como los que venían en la edición juego del año los cuales son el dlc de gatúbela el dlc de la venganza de Harley Quinn también el tiempo de juego se respalda y se aumenta con los desafíos de riddler al conseguir todos los trofeos dispersos por el mapa y ahí conseguir todos los trofeos que hay que escanear en escenas y partes de todo el mapa y cuando nos escaneamos nos relata una breve historia qué nos dará más información del juego su narrativa de las mejores que he visto en un videojuego los personajes están bien escritos el juego es divertido sus combates son espléndidos los controles están bien hechos muy bien merecido el título de juego del año aunque su portada edición juego del año me parece muy exagerado y hasta un poquito feo deber que resaltaron tanto el logo juego del año ese tema de la portada es el único que veo de punto negativo pero no tiene nada que ver con la jugabilidad los voy amar así rompecabezas en que tú tienes que buscar y hallar resolver todas esas partes del juego aunque son muy fáciles la verdad otro. Negativo pero no le quita nada otro punto que no le quita nada nuevamente pero me hubiera encantado es que a los plataformas de PlayStation 3 y Xbox 360 tuviera un doblaje latino pero no le quita nada ya que posee el doblaje en español España y también posee subtítulos para la versión norteamericana en español latino… Expand

    Its definitely a comic book story, so everything is done in extremes. The brooding hero is very brooding and dark but handsome. The women are highly sexualized and very attractive. The geniuses are brilliant. The monsters are hideous and evil. And while it falls deeply into these tropes it also manages to tell a compelling and often surprising story that transcends these tropes.

    Its as close to a game without flaws as you can get.    … Expand

    I didn’t take in how good this game was at the time. Thinking back on it, the opening as Bruce Wayne and the amount of replays and combat challenges I went through reminds me that this game was genuinely one of The Best Games ever. The Bruce Wayne opening, one of the best openings I’ve ever experienced. Partially due to me being a fan of Batman but who isn’t. Beast game.

    Batman: Arkham City is a GREAT GAME.
    - Graphics are good.
    - Pacing is smooth.
    - Most missions are enjoyable.
    - The combat is one of the best parts of the game.
    - The Voice Acting, for the most part, is solid.
    - I love the overall dark tone of the game.

    To cut a long review short, if you enjoyed the first game, then you will absolutely have a great time with the sequel. Enjoy!!

    This is a great sequel that has a better story and greater scope. What I like the most is the new boss fights characters as none repeat from the first. The side quest is also better and brings new depth and added bonus to the story. The only downgrade is that the game graphics have not aged well, a remaster or new engine graphics will make this one a 10 for me. Overall this is a must-play game.

Tuve la oportunidad de jugarlo en su año de lanzamiento y quede muy sorprendido con la gran mejora cosa que no creia posible después del gran juego que fue Batman Arkham Asylum. La iluminación y su fluidez en los movimientos cua do efectuas un combo hacen de este juego el mejor de la saga según mi opinión.     Best Batman and superhero game by far. The story mixed with the combat, where they almost Arkham Asylum’s Combat. The predator sections are what really makes this game stand out from all the other superhero games. Not only that the dlc skins and stories are amazing.

Bereits mit ihrem Überraschungserfolg Arkham Asylum, stellte das vormals völlig unbekannte Entwicklerstudio, die grundlegenden Spielmechaniken ihres mittlerweile legendären Batman Franchises vor. MitMit der Arkham Serie hat Rocksteady gezeigt, dass man mit Superhelden Lizenzen nicht nur Geld drucken kann, sondern, wenn man denn will, wirklich auch hervorragende Spieleserien produzieren. Bereits mit ihrem Überraschungserfolg Arkham Asylum, stellte das vormals völlig unbekannte Entwicklerstudio, die grundlegenden Spielmechaniken ihres mittlerweile legendären Batman Franchises vor. Mit dem Nachfolger Arkham City, werden diese nun in jeder Hinsicht perfektioniert.

    So präsentiert sich Arkham City mit einer vollwertigen Open World Architektur. Die Mainquests um den Joker und Dr. Strange machen dabei höchstens ein Drittel des gebotenen Contents aus. Allerhand Nebengeschichte um weitere Unterweltgrößen Gotham Citys, wie den Riddler, Two Face oder auch Catwoman und Pinguin, machen Arkham City eigentlich erst zu dem was es ist, nämlich zu einer Spielwiese für alle Fans des Batman Universums. Rocksteady ist es unglaublich gut gelungen, die Vielzahl an Charakteren, die wir alle kennen und lieben, in die Quests der Open World zu integrieren. Dabei agiert Rocksteady zudem so stilsicher, dass man sich tatsächlich direkt nach Gotham City versetzt fühlt, da sich alles so **** cool, irgendwie echt und einfach nach DC anfühlt.

    Eine weitere Stärke der Arkham Reihe sind zudem die vielen innovativen Gameplaymechaniken. So gleiten wir nicht nur stilsicher über die Dächer von Gotham, sondern erledigen unsere Gegner, ganz Batman like, meist geschickt aus dem Dunkeln, was sich dank der hervorragend umgesetzten Stealth Mechanik unglaublich befriedigend spielt. Kommt es dann doch einmal zum offenen Kampf, greift die Arkham Serie hier auch ein extrem flüssiges Beat'em Up Gameplay zurück, bei dem wir ganz geschickt automatisch von einem zum nächsten Gegner hechten können, auf Knopfdruck Ausweichkonter austeilen oder verschiedene Spezialmanöver ausführen, die wir im Laufe des Spiels erlernen. Das Gekloppe spielt sich dabei so rasend schnell und fluide, dass einem fast schwindelig wird.

    Bewegen wir uns eher in Räumen, bzw. den Dungeon-artigen Leveln, die vor allem im Rahmen der Mainquests zu finden sind, dann kommen zudem verschiedene Gimmicks und Gadgets zum Einsatz, wie etwa das Batarang oder die Batclaws, die wir vor allem zum Lösen diverser Umgebungsrätsel benötigen. Eine weitere stilprägende Mechanik ist der Detektiv Modus, den wir auf Knopfdruck aktivieren können und der die Umgebung nach interessanten Objekten scannt. Die Mechanik hat sich nicht zuletzt auch Tomb Raider ganz prominent geklaut. Der Detektiv Modus wird auch in vielen Nebenquests genutzt, beispielsweise wenn wir Tatorte untersuchen und dort Hinweise und Spuren finden müssen.

    Es gibt wirklich nicht viele Spiele, die es schaffen, so viele Spielelemente so elegant zu verbinden und dabei auch das richtige Pacing und Leading treffen, damit man mit all den Möglichkeiten nicht völlig überfordert da steht. Das schafft Rocksteady wirklich großartig. Wenn man das Spiel denn irgendwo kritisieren möchte, dann wäre da zum Einen die Tatsache, dass es kaum begehbare Gebäude in Arkham City gibt. Die Stadt fungiert primär als Kulisse und nur wirklich Quest-relevante Locations sind auch wirklich betretbar. Das Zweite wäre, dass Storytelling scheinbar nicht unbedingt zu den größten Stärken Rocksteadys zählt. Die Quests an sich sind toll inszeniert und die Charaktere großartig gezeichnet, die erzählerischen Mittel generell jedoch eher sehr einfach gehalten. Mit Naughty Dog Produktionen beispielsweise, kann das Arkham Franchise jetzt nicht konkurrieren. Aber das ist Meckern auf hohem Niveau. Denn Arkham City ist nicht nur ein unglaublich gut gelungenes Batman Spiel, sondern auch eine der besten Open World Erfahrungen dieser Konsolengeneration.    … Expand

    Combat is improved from the first game. Overall level design is better as well with great verticality in levels. Story is good but not as polished as the first games. The overall world feels emptier then the first games. Catwoman sections frustrating

    The interface is wonderful. You have so much information immediately available to you. Google Maps always has a minimap in the lower left corner, which gives you a good overview of the area. Getting information about people gives you a clear, clear window. Hacking offers a menu with easily recognizable icons, so you always know what your button presses will do.

    I enjoyed the sequel to the great Batman game Arkham Asylum. I will say I prefer Asylum to this one a bit, but that is mainly due to a couple of factors I will go into later. It is not to far behind as I gave that one and this one both tens. This one has a part of Gotham City being blocked off from the rest of the city and being essentially a holding area for many of Gotham's moreI enjoyed the sequel to the great Batman game Arkham Asylum. I will say I prefer Asylum to this one a bit, but that is mainly due to a couple of factors I will go into later. It is not to far behind as I gave that one and this one both tens. This one has a part of Gotham City being blocked off from the rest of the city and being essentially a holding area for many of Gotham's more undesirable citizens i.e. the criminals. Hugo Strange is behind this insane effort and Bruce Wayne becomes one of the latest inmates. Well Penguin gets his hands on Bruce, but Bruce proves to be a much more physical and tough rich boy than the Penguin was expecting and Wayne soon finds his way to a rooftop where he is sent his bat suit and he now stands as Batman over the bleak city. He must traverse this city full of his most deadly foes such as Two-Face, Penguin, Mr. Freeze and of course the Joker. He must find out what Hugo Strange is planning as he most certainly has an agenda, however things become complicated when Batman's greatest nemesis injects Batman with his own blood because the Joker has contracted something thanks to the Titan formula he used in the previous game. So Batman must find a cure for himself while trying to figure out Strange's plan. The game plays a lot like the first game as the fighting and such is nearly identical. It just occurs over a much greater area this time. The story is top notch and once again Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker are great. It amazes me how well both do with their characters. The main problems I have with this one is the Riddler puzzles are very tough in this one, whereas in the previous game I found all but five without any assistance here I was just to overwhelmed with the amount of riddles laid out before me. Also, the difficulty was very high in this one once the sniper rifles came into play. Trying to get into the theater was an incredible nightmare, I had less trouble with the final foe. Finally, I was expecting to be able to play the game as Catwoman, however, you apparently have to be online to download her and her stories which means to bad for those of us who do not have an internet connection. The boss battles are improved though and overall the game was grand fun with a strangely somber ending, one thinks to themselves that what happens should not be sad, but one still feels a bit bad. At least I did. Here is hoping for a part three that incorporates all of Gotham and lets you drive the Batmobile.… Expand

    Playing this game a decade later, it stands the test of time. A classic original batman story better than all of the 90s live-action movies. The freeflow combat system is still one of the best ever in 2022. Even though there are better-looking games than this now, the graphics are still surprisingly very good for 2022.     Spent weeks playing this and I can totally assure, you do feel like Batman, and that is the whole point of gaming, feeling it. It is impossible to not enjoy the range of gears and moves you are able to use in order to make your way to the objective or beating down enemies. Also, it is long enough for you to fully appreciate, but not too long for you to get sick of it. Simply incredible,Spent weeks playing this and I can totally assure, you do feel like Batman, and that is the whole point of gaming, feeling it.     "City" is the best game in the "Arkham" series. An improvement over the original, it refines and expands on every aspect. This is one of those rare sequels that is both bigger and better. If the first game's model was "Bioshock", than "Grand Theft Auto" is the reference point here. As the title implies, the story takes place in a city and its open-world environment is amazing.     What can I say about this game that hasn't been said already? AC took everything from AA and improved on it so much. The plot, action, and soundtrack are legendary, and it still amazes how Rocksteady was able to surpass AA in so many ways. This game makes you feel like Batman, and I'll always consider it to be THE greatest game ever made.

The twists and the turns of the story are just amazing and are the reasons that I keep coming back to this game along with the incredible voice acting of Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy two amazing actors. The boss fights are all unique and very fun to play and as you’ve probably heard the Mr Freeze boss fight is one of the best fights in gaming history as you have to use all your skills and weapons to beat him but on new game plus mode he is bloody hard to beat I have to admit. The side missions although short and sometimes tedious (looking at riddlers trophies right now) they are very fun and inventive. The riddler puzzles and trophies (even though there are 400 of them) are all in my opinion fun to collect and all have there own little challenge but some are just blatantly easy. Overall I love this game to bits and think it’s still one of the best games ever to this day. Highly recommend.… Expand

    Soaring through Arkham felt like being a kid with a towel tied around the nape of your neck soaring through the hallways of your home. This game absolutely nails the experience of being THE BAT. Traversal and combat are exceptional and a long list of cameos manage to never outstay their welcome while also feeling meaningfully weighted to the overall story.

    Where the game stumbles for this reviewer is within the open world itself. Navigation to and from objectives is quite obtuse, particularly at the start of the game. Additional way-points or a better map would have assisted greatly. Furthering this challenge, there is no penalty for wasting your time as Batman. Which means the urgency of the narrative is often only driven by the desire of the player to move things forward. It is quite easy to not save Iceman from his kidnapped state when there are literally BATloads of things to see and do along the way. So much so that the game does feel bloated and padded with extras.
    Finally, in truth - this entire game could have been a standalone Cat Woman experience and I would not have been mad. It might have even squeaked out a nine - from me. The whip is a yes from me dawg.    … Expand

    Complete boredom. The plot is boring as hell, all characters are just saying you what to do, no interesting interactions with them, only with antagonists, bland. The game in terms of tech looks fine, the combat is excellent, but because of the boring plotline there is no motivation to play further. Learn from Insomniac Games please. Imo

    The games a lot of fun and I loved playing it, there were some points in the story that annoyed me and the combat did get a little annoying by the end but I loved Batman Arkham city and would defiantly recommend you buy it as it doesn’t cost to much, i got it for like £3 of eBay so it is well worth the price.

    Arkham City just does everything Arkham Asylum did but bigger and better. The scope of the open world and narrative is grander and playing as batman in a wider arena is pure joy. Boss fights also offer a remarkable improvement over the first game.

It has an amazing open world filled with riddle puzzles, side missions, and random thugs to brawl at any time, using the amazing combat system and all the new takedowns they added. The predator is smooth, with knockout smashes solving a big problem with Arkham Asylums' predator, where you would be stuck taking down a henchman while being shot at. The boss fights areThis game is amazing. It has an amazing open world filled with riddle puzzles, side missions, and random thugs to brawl at any time, using the amazing combat system and all the new takedowns they added. The predator is smooth, with knockout smashes solving a big problem with Arkham Asylums' predator, where you would be stuck taking down a henchman while being shot at. The boss fights are amazing and creative, the beat down system is fun, the challenge maps are great, and the story is intriguing. The new gliding mechanics are amazing, with dive-bombing and grapnel boosts. Lots of upgrades to get with your skill points, and you can even play as Catwoman. My only problems with the game are that batman will randomly punch the air sometimes, guns do a crazy amount of damage, and there is a big portion of the map you can only enter via an underground passage, and so while gliding you have to go around it, which can be a hassle. Other then that, combat, predator, street brawls, side content, boss fights and the story are all amazing and fun.… Expand

    considering the fact that this game was released in 2011 the graphics are great. The story is intriguing. Combat system has it's flaws and compared to Arkham Knight it's not the best but it's still pretty good. Im giving it 9/10 because you need to do all challenges and campaigns to get 100% which is very frustrating. Im glad they changed it in next game

The added difficulty of the new game plus, paired with the clever bits of foreshadowing I missed made revisiting the game totally worth it.     Amazing Game. Number 1 on my list of my favorite games of all time. Amazing Story and Good Side Quests and the list goes Overall 10/10 partly due to nostalgia and mostly due to it being an amazing game
